- Jade Blythe - “Claudia, I..” Jade looked back at Claudia, void of all emotion. If she had been herself she might have tried to soften her words, but they were as monotonous and careless as only a hollow girl could speak them. Carefully holding one of Claudia’s hands in her own, she locked eyes with the woman and spoke quietly. “I need to tell you the truth. ” She blinked a couple of times before she started to say what should have been said at least one month ago. “Me and Jonathan meant nothing.” “Reaver climbed over the walls and took me hostage, and Jon tried to negotiate with her. In the end I had to speak up because they couldn’t stop insulting each other and haggle over my life, as if I was.. worthless. That’s when it hit me; if there had been any other person standing there with Reaver’s blade to their neck, Jon would have acted exactly the same way, haggling over their life as if they were just an item.” Jade paused and closed her eyes, tilting her head towards the floor. “He ruined my life, Claudia, and he was just keeping me close because.. I don’t know. I don’t know anything anymore. I don’t care that he’s dying in the medical wing, that’s how much we screwed each other up; he by keeping me trapped here because of his mistakes and me by feeling like his mind and the whole of Heartania would collapse if I left.” She drew a deep breath and opened her eyes slightly, looking at Claudia through teary eyes. “So you see why I have to leave. I can stay with you tonight if you want to, until we know if Jon will make it or.. but after that, I’m gone.”

CLAUDIA KRAMER "So that's why..." Claudia uttered the words, likely not knowing they leaked out of her mouth due to the complete stress on her shoulders. In some way she didn't want to believe Jade, she knew Jon, she knew he wasn't some monster who left destruction in his wake, but on the other hand this was coming from a biased perspective, and Jon's emotional last words reinforced Jade's point of view. This was something she needed to ultimate decide, but she would take Jade's words into account. "I see....alright," she took a deep breath before standing up weakly, walking towards the window to get some damp fresh air. "I obviously have a biased point of view of the whole thing, but if you want to leave then I won't stop you. It's not something I would recommend personally, but I won't make an effort if you head for the door." She wiped her nose. "Funny, I enjoyed our time together, so I hope this whole thing doesn't change anything between you and I." Another wipe of her eyes and some nose blowing before she disposed of her tissue. "I would appreciate it if you stayed until we know about Jon, and after that it would be cool if we stayed in contact." She leaned out of the window to get more air, as her face turned dark. "Even so, I've inherited a responsibility towards you from Jon." "...we can confirm the fighting is now over, but the status of either side has yet to confirm what lead to the conclusion of this blood-reigning battle--"She turned off the television, but still sat in her armchair as she sank into the cushions. She had hoped that the fighting would kill her, and she was close to having her throat slit. She wish she would do it herself, but even if the quick slice of the knife was unsatisfying it would've ended her chase. Jade Blythe was still alive, which both satisfied her and boiled blood at the same time. The chase would continue, but Paige would end it. There was a knock on the door, and Paige tilted her head. "Come in", she said, more softly as the lack of food started catching up to her. The door opened up, revealing a member of the family. "We've gotten news from the Chimera, they arrive tomorrow night." Paige smiled lightly. "Excellent." "There's also a small shipment that will arrive in the morning, small package." "That's fine." The door started to close. "Wait!" she commanded, though not in the booming voice she was use to. "Yes?" "Do we have any meat in store? Animal meat?" "Yes." "Could you please prepare me a meal with them? Mashed potatoes, carrots, and some peas?" "Of course. Carrots cooked or raw?" "Raw." The door closed and Paige finally left her seat, taking in a good look at the entire of Heartania, now damp.

- Jade Blythe - Jade’s hands clenched, and her white, fear-filled eyes took on a dark shade of black. “You’ve ’inherited a responsibility’ from Jon?” she spat, as tears started to run down her face once again, “don’t make me laugh. What have either of you done the past two months to fix the mess he made? Nothing that you’ve bothered telling me about!” Jade remained on the floor, but looked over at her suitcase as her clothes started wrapping themselves together. Even if she purposely focused her telekinesis on packing to avert her anger from Claudia, it did little to hide the fact she was bursting at the seams. “You don’t understand. Just looking at you now.. hurts.” Jade’s voice got sharper and the suitcase slammed shut. “You look just like him, standing there, and the way you talk to me- please, just, don’t. Don’t make it sound like I have a choice, because as a matter of fact, I don’t. Once I step out those gates downstairs it is very likely I’ll get a bullet to my head, yet I choose to do that before spending another week here.” Jade looked over at the cardboard box filled with files relating to Scarlett’s disappearance and pulled it towards her with her invisible powers. After doing so she looked up at Claudia with too much water in her eyes to read her expression. “Stop pretending that I matter, because I’ve never been either of yours’ priority. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you let Jon keep me here as a way to keep him stable- but maybe you’ve been blind like me. Jon wasn’t the only one who let me down, Claudia, you did as well.” She supported herself on the bed to stand up, and faced Claudia with a wounded expression. As her last sentences dragged on a sneer started to fill her voice, which combined with her black eyes would have made any superstitious man believe she was possessed by a demon. “Don’t pretend you want me to stay. I have been here two months, yet today was the first time we did something together outside the Citadel. Did Jon ask you to bring me with you, give me some fresh air like a dog in need of a walk? Heck, Jon didn’t even bother to take me out for dinner as long as I’ve stayed here; he got you to do it instead!”

CLAUDIA KRAMERThe tone had changed quickly and the turn Claudia did towards Jade reflected that. Her augmented arm had clutched onto the windowsil that it broke up, a piece still clutched into her arm.
"I don't want you to stay?" she exclaimed, her tone much darker. "I want you to stay because it would be a safer option. You think the Tower will let you in? You think going to Capital City will help? You and I know that a lingering problem will still be present and it's something I now feel I have a responsibility over." She dropped the piece to the ground, before unzipping her top and exposing the shoulders.
One shoulder had the augments, while the other had scars. "I did nothing for two months? Does the past two months of work in the unit mean that I did nothing? I couldn't leave the Vault, I had to do my job which unfortunately sacrificed my social life! And I did nothing to help?"
She put her shoulders back in her top. "The day I got time off, the only day off I had in the past two months I spent with you. You were stressed, I was stressed, and I wanted to know the woman who was then with my brother. I pulled strings, expensive strings to entertain you, to get to know you, and to spend time with you. No Jon, no Citadel, no Acchilleus, just you and me, my treat! Girls day out! Does that mean nothing to you?"
Her lips trembled. "He really cared about you, you know. After you went inside he cried on my shoulder and admitted wrong to everyone, you included. And even before today when I handed in my daily report he spoke about how he wanted to build up something with you, he wanted to fix his personal problems, the personal rifts he had created since taking on the post two months ago. He wanted to deal with Paige, for he felt that he had a responsibility to do so after dragging you into that mess."
"And now he's dead, or close to it. We're not going to hear from him for sometime, and would it be fair to cast you out to deal with some psychotic bitch on your own?" A tear left her eye as she stared at Jade. "I now feel responsible for your safety, and I really wanted to build a bond with you, and you're burning that bridge? Not only are you casting yourself away from Jon, which is understandable given what you've told me, but you're destroying what we've built together just because of association alone?"
She faced the floor, but looked back at Jade. "Unbelievable." She headed for the door.

- Jade Blythe - The door slammed shut in front of Claudia and Jade’s face darkened, her fists trembling at her side. “Don’t. You. Dare.” She glared back at Claudia. If she tried to exit the door, Jade would let her go- but first she had to speak her mind. “ By association alone? Can’t you see that you’re acting just like him right now?!” The door creaked open again, as Jade suddenly felt tired. Her words slurred slightly as she tried to remain focused at Claudia in front of her. It was time to end this sickening argument. “Have you always followed him around like this, cleaning up his mess? Because in the end, by the sounds of it, Jonathan changed because someone opened his eyes to what he’d done wrong- and that person wasn’t you, but someone he had to screw over just as badly as himself before he could realize that what he was doing was wrong on so many levels.” She snapped, though still glaring her voice choked up and her eyes were starting to look tired. “I have no idea how he was going to fix us, because this sort of thing can’t be fixed with money or connections; what he’s done to me nobody but I can fix, but for you to just stand by and let him, like you’ve probably let him manipulate people years before I entered the picture, is what hurts me most. Jon needed someone to stop him, and why you didn’t do that before me I have no idea. Up until the moment I told him it was over, I was just a broken toy kept for nostalgia. The moment he lost me, was the moment I changed him. How sick is that?” Tears were still flooding from her eyes like rivers, but at least now she felt somewhat finished. “Do you still feel responsible? Do you still want to fix things? Take care of that psychotic bitch, and keep me out of it!”

CLAUDIA KRAMER Claudia only turned around a little to face the woman, the two faced woman, pretty and friendly on the outside but completely cold on the inside. "I made the technology and gave it to Jon, I gave him the seed, so I feel that it's my responsibility to at least make the best of it, to fix what he can't..." She takes a look at her augmented arm. "...to secure it for everyone else. Responsibility can blind people, neglect others around them, and it's something he and I know too well." If only I saw her more. She opened the door. "I'm going after Paige and you're free to help, it only seems right that I at least remedy that situation." She turned back around. "Whether or not you keep up that attitude towards me is up to you, but if it does don't expect an invitation to the funeral." She closed the door, back into the corridor. It was too painful, the whole thing. She entered needing comfort from someone she considered a friend from within the walls, but instead got an exposure to the inside of the woman Jon had an interest in. She walked down the corridors, seeing people calming down now that everyone had started recovery, but the rumour was spreading about Jon, and it was something she couldn't quieten down. "You were foolish to believe her, they only look out for themselves, thinly veiled, unwilling to be optimistic."She was back, the ghost of the past that has haunted her. "What do you want?" "You think the rich would think about those in less economic stress?"
"It's an odd thing to focus on, mother. The problem is that she's a social backstabber." "It's what divided me from you. They draw you in to develop a sense of friendship, then discard you when their benefits end."
"Whether or not she discards me is up to her, I've extended my hand." "And if she doesn't meet halfway?"Claudia stopped walking and gave her some time to think. She wanted to be apologetic, run back and ask what she could do better to fix this mess, fix the burning bridge, but she knew it would only be met with diatribe, scorn, and make her look weak. It was time to be strong, come out of this bloodbath a better woman, demonstrate what happens to those who break the rules. "Then damn her for all I care." She opened the door, medical, and there was another woman, younger, crying over the state of the man who did what he could for his family. She had to visit him, only felt right for the man who gave so much for her brother.

- Jade Blythe - "If you do send it, don't expect me to come," Jade muttered as the door closed behind Claudia. She stood still for fair minute as she tried to unclench her shaking fists while she started to shake uncontrollably. 'What the hell is wrong with me.. And her! She's blind.. she's..'"..just like... him... She doesn't see... Oh God, what do I do now?" Jade bent over the bed in an effort to support herself, but ended up collapsing on it as her legs gave in under her. 'What if I spend the rest of my life being scared of what comes around the next corner, if I can actually trust someone, if someone can actually like me?' She took a pillow and hugged it so tight it would seem she tried to merge with it and become one with its fluffy carelessness to the world. 'Why can't I pick myself up? Why am I so weak?'She sobbed helplessly to herself as she was finally free of the care of the Kramers and the pretense she had kept up continously for the last month. Despite the argument she felt, in some twisted sense, even more relieved than the moment she told the Broker they were over. At least she had been honest with Claudia, even if she refused to listen to what she'd said. Since it was all down to Claudia to deal with Paige now, Jade tried to empty her mind of it all and just curl up like a little ball too small for anyone to notice. There was noone left she could trust, noone she could contact who she wouldn't put in danger, and no one willing to help her because of friendship rather than duty. In what felt like her darkest hour, she couldn't even manage to mutter a weak plea as all strength vanished from her and her dark surroundings finally seemed to devour her. 'Someone, please.. anyone.. help me.'
~ Snowflake ~ The razor blades only served as a distraction as Snowflake suddenly swung her right arm, making a great amount of raindrops freeze and hurl themselves at the mutant. She was out of her mind as she watched him flutter about like a little pathetic butterfly, just like the first time she'd met Crimson in Heartania. It was in the moment Snowflake remembered him that she set her broken mind on not only getting rid of the little brat, but absolutely destroying him.

NATASHA MCCALL A sharp breath injected into her as she suddenly sat up. She gasped with air, trying to regain her composure and senses that were missing a short while ago. She looked around the room, full of the injured resting up, and attached to her was an oxygen mask and a water-drip. Her eyes were still stinging, but one thing was for certain, she was alive, if barely.

||| PROJECT: SUPERNOVA ||| Starlass' light barrier was certainly impressive, but whether it would actually hold up to Supernova's attack was yet to be seen. The wall of light shimmered, taunting the android. As its circuits wired together allowing it to 'feel' emotion, it was filled with inexplicable rage - whether it was directed at the person it was built to destroy or simply the routines that formed its consciousness running a test was irrelevant: Supernova was angry, and it wanted to let Grace Scott know it. Attack magnitude 6 insufficient to breach defense. New course of action plotted.Supernova hovered forward at a moderate speed, lowering its left hand but keeping its right extended, the white that danced in both palms now shifting away from the outstretched side. Within a few seconds it reached the wall of light, and, with a swift action, plummeted its fingertips into the luminescent rectangle. Slowly, the light funneled inward, warping the surface of the barrier onto an ellipsoid that bulge toward Supernova's elbow. White light streaked across the thin barrier and culminated along the android's arm, slowly removing itself from the wall and joining Supernova's power banks. A moment passed, and the wall had shrunk to half its original size, then a quarter. Then, in a blink, it was gone, the light now flowing precariously over Supernova's body. "Grace Scott. You are powerful, I'll admit that much. But I was built to be more so." A large portion of the light erupted from Supernova's back, and the android rocketed forward. With no barrier inhibiting its trajectory, it found its mark easily, venting the remaining energy to throw its left fist forward. With a deafening crack and an explosion of white, Supernova delivered a punch straight to Grace Scott's jaw, weighing in with both the barrier's energy and Supernova's own. Attack magnitude 7 successful. Chance of target retaining consciousness: 15%.>> SONAR << Johnny sat in the hard chair, staring at nothing in particular in the bleakly decorated medical bay. Even if he hadn't been sitting here, already having inspected his surroundings closely, he was too lost in thought to bother admiring the scenery right now. Melancholy synthetic music filled his ears, playing from his headphones at just the right volume to drown out the room's ambient noise. It helped ease the stinging a little, but it wasn't enough. His best friend died fighting a battle alone that they should have been fighting together. The monster might have been brought to justice, but there was no need for Aderyn to sacrifice herself in the process. She should have waited, she should have let him... His thoughts drifted to anger, then to self-loathing in response. He couldn't be mad at her, that wasn't fair. She was the one who lost everything. He was just the whiny kid left behind. And now he found himself sitting silently in a medical bay, watching helplessly at the side of another he failed to help. Frequency fought just as hard as Aderyn, gave just as much of her passion to the battle, and went too far just like her. Natasha reminded Johnny of her, and that made him feel a pang of guilt. So I could save a girl I met two months ago, but not one who stood next to me my whole life? What new kind of loser have I become now?And he didn't even know if he'd saved Natasha. For all he knew, she could be staving off death by a hair. For all he knew, he was too late to bring her back, too busy crying over the body of someone who was already gone. He was ready to delve into that thought when he noticed movement. The woman he'd been sitting beside shot up into a sitting position. Johnny nearly fell of his chair in surprise, the sudden motion the last thing he expected. He cried out quietly, then regained his composure, leaning forward curiously. "N... Nat? Are you okay?"

GRACE SCOTT | STARLASS Heartania | Citadel Outskirts 1st December 2063 | 06:28PM The fatigue and agony of the fight had begun to weigh down on Starlass' mortal body to the point where her light wall was the last thread of hope in an unravelling weave. Her eyes widened with anxious shock as this final line of defence melted away around the android's sheer presence. At least they are safe now... at least I managed something before-Her thoughts were brutally silenced as a metal fist collided straight into her jaw; the dislocating of bone audible from the rooftop. The pressure was too much, the burden to heavy. For a brief, final period of consciousness: she swore she saw those she had been affected by in her life. Argent Mind, Compound, Butterfly, even Shadow Fixer, as well as La Mirage, The Knight... and her parents. The moments were fleeting, yet served as a comfort as her eyes rolled back, and her resolve left her body. She dropped to the ground forcefully, blood now seeping through her jaw. It was all over. CLYDE ERWIN | KINETIC WARDEN Heartania | Citadel Outpost Alpha 1st December 2063 | 06:34PM The Tower forces had properly begun their exit of the battlefield. Knowing there was nothing else he could capably do, the Warden began blinking from roof to roof to return to the Tower: with the goals of filing a formal report on the events, but to also get to the bottom of Ali's uncharacteristic detachment. This train of thought was halted, however, when he spotted what was happening on the adjacent rooftop. Grace Scott. Two Grace Scotts. He watched as one fell to the ground in a manner the veteran hero was all to familiar with; springinghim into action. He hurriedly teleported into the centre of the scene, and from there he was able to get a proper look at the second Starlass. Though they looked almost exactly the same, there was a look in the standing figure's eyes. Malice... and slight confusion, as if it were a shark out of water. It didn't take long for the Warden to remember the televised display three months ago, and the metallic lackey of the Marshal. Looks like it's gotten deadlier.Raising his quarterstaff defensively, he grabbed the fallen hero by the arm as quickly as he could, and with a stern look, blinked away from danger. If the impostor Grace Scott could defeat the real deal so easily, he could not return the favour alone. Instead, he checked the pulse of the former Tower operative. It was weak. Dangerously weak. As soon as he arrived at the balcony of the Tower, he ran to the nearest table; pushing papers and mugs to the ground so he could lay her down. Her face was bruised like hell, and blood stained her cheeks in a worryingly large quantity. Much to the same effect, a small pool of blood rested in her mouth, and presented a real risk of choking. Some bones in her body (such as the right wrist) felt limp, and her face was growing ever more pale. The Warden was not an adept medic, but luckily his comms gave him the ability to summon some of the best in the city, "Any operatives in within Tower: I have Starlass, but she is in a very bad place. Repeat, Grace Scott is potentially in critical condition: I need the best up here now!" He tried to stabilise her condition long enough for a pocket of medical professionals to arrive at the balcony room and begin their work, which he was successful in. They all looked a bit green, though he knew the Tower only employed the best. They assessed the situation with impressive speed, and then gently began carrying her to the medical ward. With good luck, she would be conscious within a day. With poor luck, she may suffer permanent injury, or in the worst case, death. It was all up to fate now.

Ripley reacted fast, blasting the shards of ice with a scream. But he failed to notice the frozen water droplets; they ripped into his wing. It was just like last time; he threw his whip down at Snowflake in a crescent shape, he'd have to kill her no matter what.

Shade She was walking, although she didn't know where to. Simply walking, quietly along through the Citadel's many corridors, away from the medical wing. Away from the grief, the pain, the loss, away from it all. Inside she felt dull, slow, almost dead to the world as she drifted away, past rushing doctors, wounded men and women, suffering souls and panicked hearts. She barely registed them as she passed, walking out into the night. She couldn't be in there anymore. She couldn't bear it. Not now. Kate The girl looked up, through eyes full of tears, drawn away by the approaching figure. The small part of her that could still think recognised the Broker's sister, coming to check on... She simply shook her head, clenching the hand she held tighter as if she could never let go. The machines had been allowed to go quiet. The hand was too cold... Shade Among the bodies, under the rain, Shade walked, climbing the Citadel's wall alone. There she sat, watching the black, cold ocean, feeling a loss that was eating her whole. It was a reality she could barely understand, barely fathom. Jason... Jason was dead.

~ Snowflake ~ As the ice hit Ripley’s wing, Snowflake grinned briefly before narrowly dodging the lash of his whip. The moment it hit the ground the water on tarmac froze and glued itself to the whip in an attempt to freeze it, but only to serve as a distraction to what she did next. With a glance up at the kid she reached out her hand and made the ice expand, aiming to take out one of the two wings that kept him flying.

CLAUDIA KRAMER She felt hallow, more so then before. She had hoped that there would be some hope within the walls of misery, but it seemed every door she passed through gave some bad news. Jon was on a lifeline, Jade showed undesirable colours, and now the kind-hearted soul who went through hell and back was now gone. Shade was gone, likely devastated, and it seemed like the world was collapsing by the second. They won the battle, but Acchilleus had won the war, even if he did not live to see it. She walked carefully towards the body that had sacrificed their life to save the building they laid to rest in. The sister who saw the life drained out of him, now crying over the body. She placed her hand in the empty hand of Jason, and gently rubbed the top of it. She knelt down next to the body, opposite of Kate, and gazed into the eyes of the body. Thank you, Jason, for everything. She took a deep breath, hoping to take the first word, but backtracked, not wanting to bring in an inappropriate angle.
NATASHA MCCALL The view was hazy, and her hearing was absent. She blinked furiously, hoping to get some result, but to very little avail. She held her hand in front of her, as the colour and sharpness slowly returned. It fluctuated, as her head was pounding from the lack of water. She barely survived, and the reason why was only to the side of her. The blur had sharpened like other imagery, but was much clearer in presentation. Her breathing slowed as the darkness that was his mouth moved. No sound, only a deep bass hum that told little, yet told all. The corners of her mouth twisted upward to form a thin smile, as the redness in her eyes showed what they were hiding. Her breathing quickened before she lunged herself at Sonar, the reason she was here. She placed her hand at the back of his head, and trapped his arms under her pits as she said "Thank you.....thank you." Hints of a laugh went through the cries, it was all she could do within the sea of darkness.

Alf Jones As the hours went by, with the brothers passing between idle chat and silence. Rhys was clearly exhausted, and Alf was too happy just to have him back to push him too far. For his own part, he made sure to tell his brother about the years since he was gone. Which heroes were retired, which were still active, which were... gone. Far more of the latter than anyone would have hoped for, but even in this state, Alf knew Rhys as a man who never avoided dark truths. He was honest that way, and Alf would never betray his trust or lie to him. The conversation was kind in places, grim in others, but through it all Alf felt the old bond they had resurfacing. They were both worn and battered by the years, but in many ways, they were still the two young men who set out with their gifts to make a better city. It had been a pure dream back then, and deceptively simple in their innocent minds. It had, of course, never gone as well as all that, but Alf kept the fire of hope within him, a hope for a saved Heartania. Admittedly, in recent years and months, he had been worn away, and the hope was but an ember, but Rhys had returned, and the fire was roaring once more. He felt younger and stronger as the bond was reforged. Tomorrow would be a better day. Argent Mind A comfortable silence lay over the room, as the two aging men sat in the gloom in peace. Of course, the life of a hero is rarely quiet for long, and just as sleep reached out to grasp the telepath, his communicator chirped news to him that sprang him to alertness. Starlass was back in the Tower. Duty called, and may have been so for a while. It was time to be Argent Mind once again. Quietly stepping to his feet, he winced on his damaged leg, before hobbling over to the door. As he left, he took one last look at Rhys, who he wasn't sure was awake or not. "Sleep well, brother. You..." He coughed, struck by emotion as he turned to leave. "You're safe now." And with that, the hero limped away, Argent Mind once again.
