Claudia stretched out a smile and replied, "goodbye Mira, if you need us you know where to find us." Without another word she was gone, breakfast was finished, people were leaving, and now she was summoned to the front of house. She needed to address the press, and it was with that thought she made her long walk. The atmosphere was tense, everyone knew what had happened and how it was making the entire structure fall apart, and the few eyes and by extension the thousands upon thousands of mice built upon her framework waited for word on the current status of the Citadel itself. Everyone would be watching her, watching as she would tell them everything, the past, present, and future of the structure and government. Some might take advantage of the situation, but the power would be returned to where it came from. The battered and scarred people, who either fought with her or hid as the thunders above raged on, stood aside as the broken woman dragged the husk of her body towards the front door, and to the flashes of the press photographers waiting for words from the horses mouth. The Chasers coat she wore flapped as the gust of wind caught it, and the low sun casted it's shadow upon Claudia. She stood upon the podium as the many voices of the press yelled their questions, and with the emotionless raise of her hand, they silenced. She swallowed, and opened her mouth. "Ladies and gentlemen of Heartania. For those deeply concerned about the skirmish last night that was broadcast live to your living rooms, bars, or anywhere else, I would like to make an announcement to them. The Government of Heartania stands strong, and the foundation of which the Safe Zone was built on has been destroyed by it's own ambition. Yesterday afternoon, Achilleus Liberatas lead a band consisting of mercenaries, crime syndicates, and terrorists to the bridge in an attempt to kill those inside and usurp the local government that was appointed by the High Council. His men consisted of the gang known as The Vipers, whom I am sure many of you at home are aware of, the Ravagers who two months prior were the primary cause of the unimaginable damage done to the city, and a few individuals who came at their own accord. The brave men and women from both within this very building and the police force that was lead by Chief Johnson fought them back until they were routed, with the High Chancellor himself leading the front line." History is written by the victors, she thought to herself, as she clutched the board slightly. "Achilleus Liberatas is dead, killed after a struggle with a few of those aligned to oppose his unlawful and dangerous actions, actions that would've granted legitimacy to the crimes committed two months ago, and action that goes against the very foundation that this city was built upon. As a result of these actions, the Government of Heartania will proceed to tear down the walls of the Safe Zone, and reintegrate it's infrastructure back to Heartania." She looked down at the desk of the podium, taking a deep breath as she considered their next words. "It is also with heavy heart that the needless bloodshed that his act of terror caused has been very destructive. Men and women, with families to support and raise, with friends whom they enjoy their company, and ambitions for the future who died are near the triple digits, but we will confirm the numbers once we have a more accurate representation." Deep breath, tell them everything."Among those killed were the High Chancellor, who elected to not sit idly by and see those who put their trust in him died. He went onto the field to defend the Citadel with his life, and while successful he -hic- passed away from internal injuries overnight." She sniffed and wiped her eye, and the blindness of the photographers didn't make things easier. "As a result, I would like to pass the announcement he wanted to make yesterday, that unfortunately cannot be delivered after the chaos." She swallowed. "The government power that the Citadel has had for the past two months is to be dissolved come next week, with election preparation to begin immediately. Candidates will not include people who have worked for this interim government, and upon the completion of the election we will hold no sway in how it operates." Another deep breath. "This building will continue to operate beyond that date, but merely as an operations hub for the Chaser unit that was set up in the wake of the previous attacks, and we are open to co-ordinate with The Tower in how to proceed from there. I offer my invitation for a Tower representative to come and talk with us in how we can effectively move on. But for now, we have a lot of work to do, and for that reason we ask members of the press to be respectful in this time of mourning. Thank you." Flashes started again as she turned her back on them and reentered the building, the double doors closing behind her. She slumped against the wall and sat down, breathing heavily, and tears once again escaping her.

- THE QUEEN OF ROSES -
“I'm okay, obviously been better,” Mira tried her best to laugh, but appear strained, making it seem to Jade like she was hiding her true feelings away and her visage was in actuality a facade of sorts. She tried her best to give a comforting smile to Jade. “Well you know if there's anything you need, feel free to talk to me.” Mira paused, pretending she was thinking on something, but she was. She wondered here and now if it was good to invite Jade, if Jade would even be able to contribute anything especially now that she could spot Claudia, beginning to walk outside for no other reason than a speech for the press unless she had finally decided to dive off a bridge. “If you want, feel free to come to my fundraiser, me and Seth will be hosting it at our house. It'll be great if you can come.” Mira gave one last warm smile before she suddenly heard a voice sprout from the television behind her louder than ever. As she saw Claudia's face on the television screen she realized it was the live coverage of the speech outside and listened earnestly.
"Among those killed were the High Chancellor, who elected to not sit idly by and see those who put their trust in him died. He went onto the field to defend the Citadel with his life, and while successful he...passed away from internal injuries overnight."
So he is finally dead, one hundred percent. Mira thought, it was little confirmation to hear it come from Claudia, she could be lying and so could he at this very point, but Mira couldn't care, she had already spent far too much time contemplating how Broker's last death went. Mira gave a faux look of concern back towards Jade as she went back to focusing on the television, she hoped at the very least that the man's death didn't strike the woman behind her with grief to the point where she couldn't attend the fundraiser, though it may give her ample opportunity to be more comforting towards her. She wanted to smile, if Seth could hear her now, he'd almost be proud. Yet things only seemed to get worse from there.
"This building will continue to operate beyond that date, but merely as an operations hub for the Chaser unit that was set up in the wake of the previous attacks, and we are open to co-ordinate with The Tower in how to proceed from there. I offer my invitation for a Tower representative to come and talk with us in how we can effectively move on...”
Mira blinked; bitch. A Tower representative? The Chaser unit? If Mira wasn't so tired, she knew she'd be angrier, more full of energy in her vile hatred. She couldn't help but glare at the television screen. She instantly began striding down the hallway towards the courtyard of The Citadel, her personal phone in hand as she began to call Seth, trying her best to contain her anger, and more importantly, her disappointment, it seemed like she would have to stay just a little while longer.

Inferno had curled herself in a ball. She could hear her blood pumping in her ears, her heart nearly breaking through her rib cage. Her chest was getting tighter; it felt like death was approaching her, and fast. It was then she heard Snowflake, teasing her. Immediately she lunged forward, wrapping herself around Snowflake's legs. "Snow," She said, her voice shaky, "Help me, please. Please." Inferno buried her face in one of Snow's legs.

~ Snowflake ~ Snowflake easily kept her balance and looked down at Inferno hugging her feet with a confused frown. “Come on, it’s not that bad..” Upon closer examination, it would actually seem like Inferno was having.. a panic attack? Snowflake wanted to bend down to her, but she stood perfectly still as her head tried to explain this irrational scene unfolding. “Inferno, let go of my legs. What’s gotten you so shaken up?”

Inferno shakily let go, pressing herself against the door of the base. "He's back for me. I though I had gotten away, I thought that they hide me well but, he's found me. Snowflake, he's going to hurt me again." She sounded scared, frantically looking around, she wondered if Trisha would appear out of nowhere again, just to take her back to Damian.

-Wild Card- The Casino was in view soon Ms Diamond would be safe and Wild card could assess the damage to his forces, the helicopter landed on the roof of the casino Mr Spade and a henchmen was waiting on the roof near the platform, the blades slowed down and stopped spinning as the henchmen inside the helicopter opened the door to let Wild card out as he carried Ms Diamond, Mr Spade walked up close to him as he approached "Sir is she still functioning?" he asked as he followed him to the stairs "she will once she fully rested" Wild card said as the henchmen opened the door for him, stepping through and walking down the stairs carefully as to not drop Ms Diamond he turned to Mr Spade "get the boys from down stairs to check up on her" he said as Mr Spade pressed his finger to his ear peace as he did what Wild card asked

Argent Mind As Starlass got up to get dressed, Argent Mind averted his gaze respectfully, giving him time to consider how he saw Starlass. He was three times her age or more, now, but she had a resilience and a strength that was far beyond the gifts of so many people of such youth. He doubted that he would have been able to outlast anything close to the amount she had suffered at her age. IF she made it through all of this, and he believed she would, she would grow into one of the greatest heroes to live. As she finished, and began to leave, he had to take action. Despite his respect for her, he could tell she was in awful condition. "Starlass, please wait!" He exclaimed, standing up a little too quickly and causing his leg to twinge painfully. "You came close to death last night, my friend! I can't let you go out there, you'll only hurt yourself more." Reaver Returning her attention to the news, Reaver sneered as the Broker's idiot sister came into view. The only good thing about seeing her face again was the expression of genuine distress, which was rather pleasing to witness. What she said, though, was far, far more exciting to here. The Broker... Was dead? Just thinking it was enough to make her grin, ear to ear with amusement and delight despite her injuries. Of course, he probably wasn't dead. That man had faked his death to avoid criminal repercussions before, and most likely had done so again. But still, watching the Lady Kramer weep tears over the idea of a broken Broker was exactly the kind of sight that made up for a difficult evening. Still grinning, she jumped to her feet... And instantly regretted it as her bruises made their displeasure known. Slumping right back into the chair, she sighed deeply. Every sunny day had its clouds. Her phone took that moment to buzz in her pocket, forcing a fumbled attempt to reveal it without straining her ribs. Eventually, she succeeded, and was greeted by a text from... An old friend. This day was going from bad, to better, to worse, to great! Having a quick read, she began to chuckle. Lena was in town, and, after what must be a year or more, they would be meeting in person again. She sent a quick text, confirming that she was free and wanted to meet up, before setting off on the epic, slow journey to the shower.

JOHNNY ANDERSON | SONAR Heartania | Citadel Helipad 2nd December 2063 | Morning Johnny lowered his chin into his hands, staring blankly as the waves rolled over the cliffs below. "Don't be sorry. You did your best." A strand of hair had fallen to the corner of his mouth. He flicked it off, then sighed. "I just..." He inhaled sharply, catching a tear before it had a chance to gather. Remembering Aderyn was... well, it was painful, but it felt for the best. "I don't know anymore. Ade was always leading me by the hand, giving me a direction to walk in. Everything I am now I owe to her," he coughed as the battle against emotion was hitting a breaking point, "but stupid fucking Johnny couldn't repay that debt when it actually mattered." He'd given away his real name, but it didn't matter anymore. Things were shitty enough as it was, throwing another log on the fire wasn't a big deal at all. He leaned back, his eyes reddening slightly. The impact of his hands hitting the concrete behind him to support his weight sent a stinging shock up his wounded back, and Johnny winced slightly before cracking another fake smile. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't whinge like this." He stared up at the dawn sky, at this moment the same shade of pale blue as his costume. For a moment, that observation made the pain a bit more dull. Funny world, huh.EDISON MILLS | COMPOUND Capital City | The Red Racer's Garage 2nd December 2063 | Morning This was the place.Ed's car pulled into the curb, stopping a foot or two short of the wide driveway. He blinked slowly, feeling the fatigue of a night's driving, then pressed his fingertips into the corners of his eyes. Tiredness could wait. "Here we are, Mrs. Scott. The safe house." He pressed the button on the dash to open the passenger door, letting his ward leave the vehicle before doing so himself. His legs were jelly for a few moments, balance eluding him, but a good stretch quickly righted that problem. Leaning against the closing door, Ed switched on his communicator, to see if his team was awake. With no response, the man assumed Nimbus and Riya were likely still sleeping, and switched the device back off. He sighed, and led the way to the garage door. Once he reached the sheet of steel, he gave it a gentle knock, and awaited a response.

- Jade Blythe - "Oh, okay! Thank you!" She responded with a nearly happy smile. It was short lived though, as both her and Mira shifted the focus from the conversation over to the loud TV. It was around the middle of the speech that Claudia made the announcement which made Jade's blood freeze in her veins. 'Is he really.. dead?' The rest of Claudia's speech blurred out as Jade kept watching with blank eyes, when she slowly felt as if she was wrapped in cotton. The world around her became dull, and Mira's angry demeanour went by unnoticed. When she left Jade stood completely still, having fallen into an almost catatonic state. '..idiot.' Oblivious to her surroundings, Jade wasn't even aware she'd turned invisible as she stepped away from the TV and slowly started to walk back to her room. Once she reached it, she quietly unlocked it, stepped inside, and shut the door. The sound of the lock turning and a big piece of furniture being dragged across the floor in front of the door were too quiet to get noticed among the ruckus taking place inside the Citadel.
~ Snowflake ~ "Whoa, whoa. Hurt you?" 'Is this some kind of prank?'Snowflake watched Inferno with a piercing stare and carefully crouched down to get on eye-level with her. Out of all the emotions she had seen the fierce woman display, fear had never been one of them, and this kind of deathly angst was nearly impossible to fake. She changed her voice to be as smooth as velvet in an attempt to seem a bit more caring and threatening at the same time. "It's barely ten minutes since you insulted me, so if this is some kinda joke I will kill you," she furrowed her brows, considering that Inferno might have led the danger back to the other side of the door, "please, one more time and a bit slower; who's found you, are they here, and what do you need us to do?"

Ali didn't know what to do. She was worn out and broken by what the day had thrown at her. She approached slowly the reception desk of the Tower once more. She didn't know whether she was meant to right up a report, whether helping out indebted here here. The reality of being thrown in the deep end again had begun to catch up with her. This was not her world anymore however much she had pretended out there holding the hands of the sick and shifting the bodies of the dead.
The words of worry flowed up in her but she stamped them down.
"Excuse me but do you know where I could go find a room to stay? I know this isn't a tourist information centre but I thought i'd ask while I return the motorbikes keys."

L had stood quietly for long enough watching her friend work. The shakes had subsided a little and she felt a bit braver. This was a safe place, a place that could be filled with happy memories.
"Do you have any idea what you're doing Twelve?" L asked softly with a smile that hid the cracks at the edges.

"Here's the roster." Haley passed over the piece of paper hardly gaining an acknowledgement as the AD buried their attention into the list. That was fine, it meant she could slink of for a moment and grab a drink from services.
"Ah hang on a sec Haley don't move."
Haley paused spinning on her heel with a small squeak, the temptation to salute was quelled by the empty feeling in her stomach as she thought about the water.
"This guest needs a filmed slot from a local gym beforehand. It was meant to be filmed last night but well you know what happened."
Haley nodded though it wasn't needed as the AD continued.
"You can go out with Jerry he's got the details. Just get the guy to answer some questions on camera, we can cut your voice out and then get some background footage of some people sparring."
They checked their watch biting their lip.
"You should be done and back by midday."
They turned away then. Orders given. Haley gave in and saluted their retreating head before heading over to where they could see Jerry messing with his camera rig. The drink would have to be grabbed on the go if they were to get back by twelve.

Inferno met Snowflake's eyes, feeling slightly comforted by a familiar face. "It's," She struggled to get the words out,"my husband. He's back and he's coming for me. We can't fight him." Inferno started rocking back and forth, tears running down from her eyes. "I hope he hasn't brought her with him, I couldn't..." If he did then she wouldn't be able to do anything.

Monica and Janice loaded into the car. Janice getting into the Driver seat whilst Monica got into the back. The car started up and began to drive out of the Exec. Garage. It wasn't a long drive, the streets were mostly desolate. The dull morning wasn't helping Monica's mood all that much, just making her feel even worse. Even if Kramer died, Monica would have sufficient evidence against him, and anyone who was involved with him.
Currently he'd already be suffering severe charges for faking death, and all his previous works as The Broker. There would be evidence against people who worked in conjunction with him as well, currently, it was just a matter of time before a lot of people would be locked up.
It took roughly half an hour for Monica to arrive at the Citadel. It had all been cordoned off by police. The whole thing was under investigation. The press had been allowed in but no further than the actual door to the main building. Monica got out of the car, Janice accompanying her to the main gates. "Janice, you're coming along. I need my right hand woman on the scene with me, just in case we run into anyone who plans to go against us." Janice replied with a nod, now it was a matter of time before the DA arrived.

- THE KING OF THORNS -
“What?” Seth was stunned, his voice was quivering with the same livid anger that coarse through Mira and yet he tried his best to take a deep breath, to stay calm though he swore that the phone could shatter underneath his grip. Nonetheless, his mind was calm, his thoughts travelling almost slowly as he tried to talk to Mira, gripping onto her every word as she explained the situation. “Okay, Mira, the interview is going to be in a couple of hours, we can't have this on our plate right now." Seth sighed. "Do you think you can stop her in time?” Seth began pacing, trying his best to readjust his tie with only one hand. “I'll figure out something but it's going to take me some time," Mira replied.
"That's not exactly an answer," said Seth, his words were sharp, his voice noticeably less so.
"Look I'll come up with something but I can't make any promises,” replied Mira, she felt the need to apologize but she knew this was far from her fault, from either of their fault. The situation, however, happening now when she was tired and wanting to get home was more than unbearable as she stopped, resting against the wall of the inner corridors. “I've got some good news at least.” Mira waited to hear Seth's voice, barely able to hear his utterances, his whispering and mumbles to himself before he focused back on her.“We can focus on that later, okay, just deal with it and get back home safe,” urged Seth. “Do you want me to come over?”“No, that's okay I'll handle this myself and come home soon,” responded Mira, she smiled. “Love you.” She hung up when Seth said the same in return, sighing and recollecting herself she decided it would be best to wait until she saw Claudia again, knowing now she was probably answering the rest of the Little Mice or being pestered by even more of the press. So she began walking, striding over to the entrance of The Citadel where she could wait until this would all blow over, and hope she could deal with this miasma of issues that spiralled around her. Seth sighed, tossing his phone back onto his bed as he focused on the television finished with readjusting his tie as he could only hope Mira, and everything they worked for, was okay.

~ Snowflake ~ Snowflake blinked a couple of times and inched closer to place, what she hoped was, a calming hand on Inferno’s shoulder. It took a few seconds for the new information to sink in, just the thought of Inferno being married to someone was completely alien, almost unimaginable- even more so that she would be the hurt one in the relationship. Maybe this was why Inferno was Inferno? “Hey,” Snowflake said, pulling a crooked smile, “did you forget who we are? We are the fucking Ravagers! The women who brought Heartania to its knees two months ago, and the rat king of the Citadel to defeat yesterday. I bet the Tower heroes and half the criminal underworld wet their pants at the mention of our name.” She tried putting the jokes aside, though the cocky smile was still present. “We could just kill him, and anyone he brought with him if they want to hurt you too.”

The Red Racer The Red Racer secured the modification to their car when they heard a knocking at the garage entrance. They scooted out from under the car's chassis and picked up their gun, a trustworthy revolver. Pistols were highly preferred by many, but the revolver was powerful. Even if a target was wearing body armor, they could kiss a chunk of their body goodbye, and with the Racer's computerized helmet and visor, they usually didn't miss thanks to all the tools at their disposal. The Red Racer checked that there were bullets in their gun and pulled back the hammer, then glanced at the back of the garage, towards the workshop, Grace's father was still back there. Good. The Racer assumed that if he heard gunshots, he'd be smart enough to start running away. The Racer knew that a man by the name of Compound was coming, but it never hurt to be safe. The Racer had taken over garages in several locations, the one in Capital City was tucked away within the city, down an alleyway and behind taller, more important buildings. Fine by the Racer. They opened the garage door and pointed the revolver at the man standing there. The Racer appeared intimidating, just a human form hidden under racing gear, any eye movements they made were hidden, and it always appeared that they were staring straight ahead, even if they weren't. In this case, the Racer glanced over at the man's companion, an older woman who was quite a fair likeness of Starlass, while still pointing the gun at the man. The Red Racer allowed their helmet's computer to run quick facial recognition on Compound, based off a photo Pathfinder had sent. Sure enough, the man in front of them was Compound, making their companion Starlass's mother. The Red Racer lowered their weapon and gestured the two inside, before closing the garage door behind them. They pointed at the workshop, signalling where Grace's father was, before walking back to the Crimson Comet. They also noted a message on the visor's display, it had been sent last night. The Racer had missed it in focusing on the road when driving to Capital City. It had been sent from Sarah Elliot. The Racer had the helmet's computer open the message, and they read it in silence. Once, twice, and then a third time. Finally, they turned off the computer and turned around. They glanced at Compound for a moment, but paid him little mind before beginning to clean the Crimson Comet. They would have a little work to do when they Starlass figured out what to do with her parents.

- Dave, The Writer - Three hasty loud knocks on the door woke Dave from his slumber, the next three recoiling inside his head as he stumbled up from the bed. In his confused state he failed to see a stain of dried blood decorating the pillow he lifted his head from. Once he reached the door he opened it groggily, and was greeted by two just as chirpy police officers on the other side. One of them gave him half a grumpy look while the other peeked not-so-discreetly into his apartment. “Dave Smith?” Though drowsy Dave responded as best he could, straightening his back when he recognized the police uniforms the two visitors were wearing. “Yeah, yeah- how can I..?” “We only have a couple of questions for you, if that’s alright.” The female police officer who asked him wrinkled her nose in contempt at the strong smell of alcohol on his breath. “Mind if we come in?” “Uhhm, yeah, sure.” Holding his head with one hand, he stepped back and opened the door even more so the two could enter. His head thumped heavily, and while the woman’s male partner entered he wished she could speak quieter and in a lower pitch. “Were you at home last night around five pm?” “Uhh, yes,” Dave blinked slowly and brought his hand to massage his right temple, “Or, no. I-I don’t remember.” “Why am I not surprised,” she muttered, when her eyes suddenly widened and she stared at his right hand. She instantly took a more confident pose, raising her arms ever so slightly into a prepared stance. “Sir, please show me your hands.” Dave winced at the sudden loud voice, looking even more disoriented than when he first opened the door. The damn elephant wouldn’t stop trampling around inside his head either. “Wha- I don’t-“ “Step back and show me your hands. Now.” At the sound of his colleague’s commanding voice, the man stepped closer and gave Dave a stern look. Dave blinked and held out his hands in front of him. It was first now that he noticed the hand he’d held to his head being stained by something resembling in colour to rosehip tea. At least he hoped it was rosehip tea. He took a quick, pained gasp as he started to feel nauseous. “How did you get that on your hands?” “I-I don’t.. Blood..” Was the last thing Dave managed to say before his eyes rolled back into his skull and he fainted.
