CLYDE IRWIN | KINETIC WARDEN Heartania | Highrise 2nd December 2063 | Morning Mason was still his cocky old self, which was an oddly warming sentiment to reflect on. The danger of working with a group of similarly weathered heroes was how grating the dreary sense of seriousness they all permeated. As far as Clyde was concerned, that was his job; meaning the almost glib way his old sidekick operated was refreshing, and well needed. So, with an uncharacteristic smirk, he dryly answered, "Nothing the Warden can't handle," satisfied with his words, he took a moment to return to his professional frown, "This city is slowly going down a road that makes it more and more like Scarlet, so you should feel right at home. Lucky for us, however, that Heartania has a much greater organised vigilante presence, and with that comes a lot more resources." He took off his earpiece to the Tower, and held it out for Mason to take, "If you need any aid, use that communication device. It will patch through to the Tower under my name, so you'll at least have their attention."

[Cybelle] Cybelle blinked at the mention of eating food, thinking back to younger days... Two Months ago Back in Clueless lab Clueless was busy taking out one of those terrible microwave meals from the microwave, a smaller version of Cybelle walk into the room and jump on the chair near the table as Clueless sat down "Whats that?" she asked pointing at the plastic tray with what looked like a blob of pasta that was hard in parts of the middle, Clueless looked over at her puzzled "well i would say its my dinner but..." he said lifting a sizable chunk up from the tray "im not gonna call it that" he said as he dropped the back in the tray as it made a small thud as it landed, "can i have some?" the little Cybelle asked as she started to lean on the table "no... not be cause i dont want you to but because you cant, it'll clog up your system and er...lets just say thats bad" Clueless said trying not to tell her she would die if she attempted it. Present day Turning to L and gulping she said "no sorry i cant 'eat' as you put it", looking down to the floor she was saddened at the fact she couldnt join them in eating, "would it be ok if i help make them?" she asked shyly hoping L wouldn't be too upset

"Of course you can." L reached out a hand to Cybelle's shoulder giving it a gentle squeeze and reaching her face down a little so that her friend could see her smile.
"It just means we can focus more on what it looks like than what it tastes like for you. The prettiest pancake possible."
She looked across to Twelve in the mess of the kitchen and she felt warm inside. This was what she wanted from a home. Friends, fun and adventure. What more could you ask for?
"I'll go get some money and we can head to the nearest supermarket."

[Cybelle] Cybelle smiled at L reply and looked over at Twelve and the mess he had made, "do you think we should help Twelve clean up first?" she giggled at the site of Twelve making a mess

- HUNTER -
In the few cold and disheartening moments to clutch the gun, Luke almost felt some form of disgust and also appreciation of himself both intermingled with his switching emotions, his mind stronger than ever as it raced ahead of his body for a solution, constantly pacing, constantly watching, his eyes flicking for the signs of danger, the modifiers in the situation, the complexities of the conflict in those few still moments. His heart continued to thump itself against his chest, he felt like it would explode like gunfire at any moment if it continued like this, his body reeling from the pain as he continued to grasp at the gun. Moments that were unrecognisable, a blur dashing through his stream of consciousness flickered through him and almost blinded him with fear, his empty breath hitching in his throat as he felt his fingers successfully grasp the very brim of the deafening death bringing machine locked in his grip.
What little remnants of the cold air that hitched in his throat were instantly released upon the sight of bare skin dashing for the gun, the woman's own unharmed hand brushing against the gun, his eyes widened as he realized how closer she was. He thought about kicking out once more, he could imagine his leg bursting in pain just from the contemplation of such an act as he wondered what else this woman knew. Was she going to kill him? What would she do with him otherwise? He couldn't bear to go through the act of being a prisoner once again. He left his mark on the world in many ways, and the splatter of blood against the wall was not one he was keen to leave once more. As he established a grip on the gun, he wanted to see the satisfaction of shock and in the most optimistic of minds, fear, from another clearly surprising attack as he used all his might to smash the gun against the woman, presumably aiming towards her head from what little of her he could sense out of the corner of his eye. One way or another, though he did not want this woman to lose much blood, he would at least find the murderous aspects of his mind relish in the thought of letting her taste it instead.

-Joltz- As Joltz walked down the road away from the store that was in tatters after her diparture she came across a payphone that some one had just left and heard the clunk of change falling in to the machine, running up she grabbed the phone off the handle and started to talk into it "Hello Hello is this still working?" she sad and proseeded to bang the phone of the booth, butting it back to her ear she heard the dial tone and smiled, starting to press buttons the phone gave her a message of "In order to make a call you need to insert $1" putting an annoyed look on her face as she slightly slumped down, throwing the phone over her shoulder as the cord was still attached to the booth she started to pat he jacket to see if she had any change on her, not finding any she started looking in the change slot to see if any one had left any in there, after unsucssessfull searching she puts her hands on her hips and huff in annoyance while blowing a hair out of her face, squinting her eyes and holding the phone back up to her ear she pressed and held the 0 button after a few second the tone changed to "Number not found, forwarding you to the operator" Joltz squeed for a moment and shouted "Yay! it worked", after about 5 mins of terrible elevator style music a person anwsered "Hello this is Will how can i direct your call?" he asked "oh right er HI i was wondering if you could.." just as Joltz was talking one of her thoughts interupted ' great now tell him hes got 7 days to live and then fire a bolt down the line' then the other one came up 'That wont work and besides we need to get in contact with Reaver to... to...i dunno kill stuff i guess' it said, "er Mam are you still there?" the operator said "Ooo Ooo thats a good idea... Ali was lost in a dream filled sleep. Images flooded in drawing her through distorted memories. She saw all her old super friends smiling in their prime, just as she was in this dreamscape then quickly they melted and warped to corpses and the elderly they had become. Her own view faded as they all crinkled away like a burning photograph in the inferno of corpses that now formed. So many faces she half recognised.
She could hear someone screaming in pain so she ran forward, looking for them amongst the maze of the groaning dead.
"I'm coming! Just hold on!" She yelled to the screams. The walls came closer and closer till with a panicked desperation she climbed the walls her own hands blistering as she rose above the dead. It was calm above, the only sound was the same person sobbing. She moved forward towards them, reaching out with her own pain etched hands.
"It's okay i'm here to help."
The figure in front of her turned laughing dryly with her own face from now. This was her, the her of the now and future.
"I doubt it. The one person we never could help was ourselves." They laughed with pain, the sound becoming more insistent as she drifted from dream to awake.
The pillows that had been welcoming were now suffocating. She eased her way upright the bed clammy her mind drinking in the last details of her dream, the smell of corpses a hint again in her nose. She shook it away rubbing her eyes.
"Screw this I need a piss." She grumbled as she got off the bed and made her way to the more mundane needs of the bathroom.

~ Snowflake ~ The incoming strike was another unexpected turn in their constantly changing fight which twisted and turned with every chance Hunter saw to attack. He had been one step ahead of her until now, but that was about to change; Snowflake was done fooling around. Again not prepared for the incoming hit Snowflake barely though quickly diverted the blow with her forearm so it slammed into the cold ground instead of her; in the process a shot rang out from the weapon. Whether this was a reaction from Hunter or simply the gun going off upon impact with the concrete under them was impossible to tell, and as it did the bullet hit one of the walls underneath the balcony. Snowflake had wasted no time as an ice shard had formed in her hand during the swift manoeuver, and now she took the small window of opportunity to attack. She aimed a kick at Hunter’s legs as a distraction then brought a sharp cut piece of ice to his neck, pressing it against his barely exposed neck hiding behind his scarf. “Calm. Down.” She hissed, glaring at Luke with manic eyes as she panted to regain her breath. He really was a tiresome opponent, even more so if he really was as wounded as he seemed to be. Still, they couldn’t keep fighting like this- or else one of them would actually end up dead. Stealing herself she prepared for whatever the wannabe-hiker could try to pull next and tried to focus his attention on her somber voice and stern face. “Listen.”
- Felix Norwood - Early morning in Heartania The light of day barely found its way through the murky windows of the even dirtier motel room. From the outside it was impossible to tell that a young boy with white brittle hair was peering out from behind an old-fashioned curtain, his face set in stone with a serious expression which surpassed his years. On the inside though, one would be able to see everything; from his new trainers to the black, tracksuit like outfit he wore to the pair of alert, green eyes which told of a young yet scared and slightly traumatized boy, to the little backpack no bigger than the size of a small shoebox. Something, if not everything about this kid seemed a little… off.The boy made his way over to the bed and sat down next to the backpack, before he rummaged through it quickly to recount its contents. At one point he pulled his hand out with a large number of high-value banknotes, giving them half a smile as he quickly stuffed them back into the bag. There was no way to tell exactly what was going on in the little kid’s head, but as he glanced out the window with a mesmerized gaze he almost looked dreamy, hopeful, as if all his problems vanished before the sun. ’I wonder what this day will bring.’But as tranquil as the moment had been, it was too brief for the kid to enjoy even further. He stood up and, putting on his backpack, quickly exited the room without a second glance. Somewhere in the distance, another shadow started moving as he carried a pair of binoculars and sinister intentions. With a grin he looked at the very same sunrise and let himself rest for no more than a second as he brushed off his black butler uniform, and prepared himself to get to work with one confident thought. ’So it begins.’

Alex would have answered the question. He had every intention to answer. Yet something was keeping him. A force so strong in his mind - a horrendous, dull, painful fuzz clouding everything that led to answers. In his head, a metronome tick echoed loudly and time slowed down, as though the world around him had decided to give up on itself. Frozen still. Just the flesh and ore. A hot, sticky liquid drips onto the ground. Not a nose bleed. It's white, but impure in every single way. Everything rushes back at once. "I-" Jade fell to the side, in some sort of panic attack. At least that's what Alex gathered in the split second in which he saw the woman fall. "I left. Sorry. I acted like a coward, but in turn sullied everything I believed I stood for. I've failed everyone." Alex felt as though he had suppressed the truth well enough with the vague explanation he managed to muster up. If he truly knew the answers himself, he would have told Starlass - he never did learn her real name. "I'm set up on the bluff no less than a mile down the fault line. I have cameras a- and equipment which I made myself. I can help you - help everybody. I just hope I'm not too late."

CLAUDIA KRAMER Claudia took a look at Monica before looking back at Chase. Two women, both with power, now preparing daggers for her back and front. She was isolated, but she was in a good position. She could knock the two out and make a break for it, or even lock them inside the cell and throw away the key. No, keep focused.
She took a deep breath to get use to the environment again. First time back down in the Vault, yet it felt so alien. She slowly walked to the doorway and placed her keycard inside, before putting in the keypad code. "As you wish officer." She wasn't too sure how to label the Chief. Chief? Officer? Inspector? The words continued to circle her head as the giant vault door opened. She took out her keys and unlocked the inner gate, before opening the final metal door into the Vault proper.
JESSICA PAIGE Goves on, uniform on, face on. Jessica prepared herself for a relatively long day, but one that would yield great rewards. As the don prepared herself in the bathroom, she thought to herself how fast it might take. Two weeks it took, two weeks for the sinful city. She smiled to herself. The Madrazos, the Coltenes, and the McLaughlins. Fell like dominoes, now swimming with the fishes, and it was something she will do in Heartania. Key problem was identifying who was the king in this city, and how to take them out with the giant monolith staring down on the entire city. Red Sand would be the start, then hopefully find out who's in charge. Jade is the end goal, but Cafe Nero is the start.

- HUNTER -
Luke was shocked as he felt the gun ring out in his hands before it fell towards the floor, he felt his hands shake from the shot alone as he clutched at it, feeling pain overwhelm him and draw his effort to resist the ferocious whims and strikes from the woman to a close. He saw the flash of the muzzle and the bullet clearly hit the wall if the police weren't already coming after him, they certainly would be here soon as the flustered and feared people nearby rushed away as they heard the gunshot, and it would be moments before someone made the first call. Nevertheless, Luke was about to rush before he saw the kick coming towards him, unable to dodge from the foul swoop he felt himself stifle his grunt and stumble before ice suddenly came to greet his neck, the cold frost slithering underneath his scarf and the point barely touching his neck. Even when he tried to hold his neck back as much as he could, he could still feel the sharp threat poke at him, ready to dive through his throat at any moment, and with his gun further away and his body suffering from the pain, he slowly raised his cold hands, his brown eyes tracing the clear ice underneath as he tensed, his neck shaking. His eyes flitted up, furrowing slightly at the woman, though he held back his anger as he didn't even risk trying to step back slowly or taking a glance behind him in case anyone decided to investigate the gunshot.
“You're the one who attacked me,” growled Luke as he tried to look around, wondering how he was possibly getting out of this, as he could no longer hold his neck back, now feeling the cold pressed against his bare skin, causing goosebumps to further prickle under his neck as he tried to ignore the uncomfortable feeling of the spiked shard at his skin. He closed his eyes, hoping that they wouldn't dare try to kill him here and now, before he opened his eyes, hearing nothing more than the quiet ambience of the city. The worried people had all fled, water continued to drip from the balcony, as both of them caught their breaths in the alleyway, Luke still had his hands raised but by now the adrenalin of the fight was wearing off, the pain was slowly flooding him again. “So what are you going to do now? You going to kill me like you seem to do with everything else you touch?” Luke's words were bitter, and he found himself feeling more so like he was speaking to himself, than the woman opposing him. The sharpness that teased his neck with death had been one he felt before, only this time, he wasn't alone. He at least wanted to mutter, 'vulture', afterwards but he didn't, at least to cling to any chance that he would still make it out of this alive as he knew exactly what to do, noticing the puddle of water that streamed underneath the both of them. He wondered why this woman was so intent on finding out about this man in the leather jacket, what kind of 'connection' the two of them had, and he wondered, if just for a moment, that somehow through all the blood and violence, she found something else instead; love. And with that possibility, his expression softened to some degree, as he muttered what appeared to be an apology, though he only glowered and glared towards the woman, waiting for her, for someone, to do anything.

GRACE SCOTT | STARLASS Heartania | The Citadel 2nd December 2063 | Morning Grace stared at Alex intently as he spoke. She watched his mouth open and close, and although something felt dodgy, she couldn't help but to feel like she should trust him. Besides, if she tried to press him for the absolute truth, she would risk alienating him, which was something to avoid. Giving Jade a quick glance, she replied softly, "Far from it... We need to get Jade out of here, is your home a good place to put up until we can work something out?"

~ Snowflake ~ With the situation even tenser than before and the street next to them growing eerily silent, Snowflake didn’t move her eyes from the calmer man but kept the pressure on his neck. She knew she was running out of time. “From the look of you, you won’t last long even if I don’t,“ her breath started to even out and she raised her voice back to normal volume, feeling her leg throb in pain from one of his kicks. “I will kill you if you move, but maaaybe I’ll let you get a head start if you tell me what happened with Crimson, the man you fought yesterday. His jacket was torn to shreds and his weapons were destroyed- but he was gone.” Her grip around the shard tightened as her voice was sharper than before, she issued a simple threat as she tried not to remember what the viper told her. ’He still has to be out there, somewhere. Keep it together.’“What did you do to him?”
- Jade Blythe - “Don’t be sorry, be glad you got away before this turned into your prison as well.” Jade glimpsed back at Starlass and tried to smile, hiding what she felt at Alex’ words. She was slightly angered, suspicious and sad; he had set up a mile away, and even then he hadn’t come by once to tell them? He had left so abruptly too, and the idea that something was wrong grew slightly inside her mind. But Jade’s judgement was as usual clouded by her feelings, so she simply stared back at Alex as she waited for his reply to Starlass. The sooner they got away from here, the better, no matter where they went.

Relief was the only feeling Alex had listening to the words of Starlass of Jade. There was no twinge of guilt in Alex's mind at that moment - guilt of having reneged on his own morals.
It was Starlass' question, though, that brought Alex back into reality. He had to ask himself whether he would be able to undertake the brief safeguarding of the two women? He had no choice now.
"Of course. But it's not exactly the Ritz, I'm afraid."
He looked to the door, then to the orifice in the wall which had been previously filled with glass.
"You think you can make it through the window?"
