Name: Dr Lisa Fitzgerald Age: 28 Gender: Female Occupation (i.e., What your character does on board the Spear): Planetary Geographer Physical Description: Lisa is a caucasian tall woman, standing at 6ft 4' tall. Lisa's dark brown hair has been cut into a pixie cut, revealing her ovular face with bright green eyes. Lisa's frame is athletic, proof of a girl who loves to study while exercising. The clothes Lisa likes to wear are usually slim fitted, but not restrictive; that usually entails a tank top and a pair of shorts. Personality Description: Lisa is a well-organised person; she likes to keep everything she owns or has in neat piles with labels stuck over them so she knows and so that people don't get confused when they search for her things. She doesn't like disorganisation; her room is proof of that and she likes to keep it that way. Lisa will throw something big and heavy at you if you disorganise her room. Often Lisa loves to spend time physically exercising herself as she reads, mainly so she can prepare for planetary missions. Lisa has herself a little chart of what she plans to do with her day, a lot of it is just vague directions but there are a few specifics, surrounding toiletries are the most important one as it helps her indicate her health. Lisa also only eats a balanced diet, and whatever snacks she eats during snack time are healthy snacks. Backstory:
Lisa was a precocious child, at the age of 12 she had already memorised the geographical topography of the planets in their solar system, their various flora and fauna and atmospheric conditions. With her natural aptitude for geography, Lisa often spent most of her time looking at different maps, going outside, and studying the various planets and moons that inhabited their solar system. From there grew a wanderlust, the want and need to explore different worlds, chart their lands and continue exploring. Her love for the stars and all they contain is boundless.
In school, there was no doubt that Lisa was a remarkably bright girl, but she only had a small field of subjects she could be called remarkable in, the rest were only of average grades. At no time had she passed coursework, done homework and sat tests easier than anyone else had ever done so.
Lisa spent her time at university, being top of her class in her niche field. Due to her remarkable ability, when she left the safety of university for the world of work Lisa was offered her place on the Spear. With that wanderlust still inside her, she took the opportunity, absolutely filled with delight to be amongst the stars.

Name: Martin Brooks Age: 22 Gender: Male Occupation: Planetary Scout & Marksman(when needed)
Physical Description: He's a bit short, standing at 5'7". He has a light build, and is rather skinny, but fit. He has deep green eyes, and pale skin. His hair is dark brown, but is often hidden by a OD Green boonie hat. His mouth is also usually hidden by a green and black shemagh. He wears camo military fatigues (camo colors change, depending on the planet they're landing on), and a OD Green chest rig on top. The stuff in or on the chest rig changes, depending on what he's using. He also has kneepads and elbow pads, as well as black boots. He usually has a sniper rifle slung over his shoulder, to be specific the AWM V2, an updated version of the AWM sniper rifle. He also carries a Glock-19 on a holster on his right thigh. He has a knife sheathed on his chest rig. Under his fatigues is a gray t-shirt.
Personality Description: He tends to be quiet. but will speak up if he needs to. He can be stubborn, often. He's tends to be alone, but with the right people he'll be social. He can geek out when it comes to some subjects, such as guns. He knows quite a lot about guns. He's rather careful. He never turns down an opportunity to improve his skills. He's can seem cold at first, but is actually rather nice. He's loyal to the military, and the Wayward Spear, even though he was just assigned to it.
Backstory: Martin was born in the Deep South of the United States, on what would probably be considered boring, Earth. To be specific, he was born in Northern Lousiana. Oddly enough he never developed a southern accent. He grew up in a mostly boring life, fishing with his father in the swamps of Louisiana, and going to school until he was 18. However he always aspired to be something greater. He signed up for the military upon the end of his 4 years of high school, and got a payed scholarship to college. After finishing college, he was assigned to a fort on Venus, where he was trained as a sniper. However, he was then reassigned to the fleet, and was assigned to the Homeward Spear after being interviewed.

SHIP PROFILE: PTC Wayward Spear
Designation: 'Pioneer Transport Cruiser' Production Class: Arrowhead Exploration Vessel
Size Category: 4 Ordinance Rating: Minimal Engine Rating: Minimal Crew Capacity: 120 Cargo Capacity: 500 thousand tonnes Affiliation: United Humanity, Exploration Sector
Class Description: The Arrowhead class exploration vessels were created as one of many 'prototype' classes, intended not for mass-production but rather put into operation as a test for new technology or design methods. Before the line was discontinued only months ago, twenty-seven Arrowhead cruisers were given full operational status as part of the UH's navy.
A symbol of risk-taking in design, the Arrowhead is unique in its minimalistic engine structure. By mounting the craft with as little engine and drive machines as possible, the bulk of the ship's body could be used as living and working quarters for the human crew. As such, it has an abnormally high capacity for its size category. The drawback is of course that an Arrowhead vessel is, by its weight, one of the least powerful crafts available today, relying on an endurance-tuned engine that allows the long journeys of the PTC designation the ships were designed for, but mostly incapable of high-speed sprints.
Although many buffs would consider the Arrowhead design experiment a failure, the crafts have not been recalled, with the UH naval command recognising their usefulness as deep-space science cruisers. If anything, the fact that the design never reached mass production has led captains and crews of the few Arrowhead cruisers still in service to feel a level of pride for the rarity of their homes.

Name: Tomson Cooper
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Occupation: Apprentice Celestial Environmental Scientist
Tomson is freshly trained in Environmental Sciences, meaning he has a more general education in a variety of subjects rather than a specialisation in one sole topic. This puts him in a position to be useful in a variety of disciplines whilst still having the ability to further the research of outer space via his own projects.
Physical Description:
Tomson is a steady 5"9 Caucasian with a somewhat muscular build, despite keeping routinely fit. He has messy, light brown hair which is ungroomed, yet still manages to fall into an acceptable state. He has bland, grey eyes and a regular, round face. His right ear has a helix piercing with a hoop earring.
Attempting to appear as casual as possible whilst adhering to uniform standards, Tomson wears whatever is assigned topped with an old jacket which is adorned with patches and pins which he has collected over his years.
Personality Description
Tomson may appear to have much to say and contribute to a situation, though most of the time he has a fairly lacklustre personality. He does not care so much if a job does not get completed unless, but still puts in dedication where it is due. He is musical, humming and whistling to songs whilst working to pass the time or just to entertain himself. He certainly isn't rude, but doesn't see the need to be unnecessarily courteous.
Backstory:
Knowing that the chances of being a chief molecular petrologist aboard a head United Humanity vessel were next to none, Tomson had essentially given up on his dreams and sunk into a slated, boring lifestyle. Unsurprisingly, he didn't gain great recognition for this attitude and was not often seen favourably in everyone's eyes. It was because of this that Tomson found himself in a military training and gunnery scheme at Humanity United. This would at least ensure a role related to his idol corporation, albeit an unpreferable one. Having completed the scheme, Tomson was assigned to a defensive role on one of the small vessels.
His lack of passion in the role did not gain him any more considerable value than it did back at home. It had been years since his scientific aspirations had faded away and still the impact of it's loss was affecting him to this day. Not being helpful on the ship he was assigned to, his captain reassigned him onto another vessel, the Wayward Spear for temporary change of role to adjust his personality. Much to Tomson's surprise, he had been given an environmental role. Although the job was not as niche as his dream, it was the best thing Tomson could have wished for in the given scenario and so he promised himself to at least put in some effort in his new role.
^ Tired and busy for the mostpart of this week, sorry. If anything is dodgy let me know and I'll gladly adjust it.

After asking Sam if it was ok, I've re-worked Eli into a brand new character. Hope you like it!
Name: Elijah Finch Age: 32 Gender: Male Occupation: Chief Vehicular Technician Aboard the PTC Wayward Spear, Eli is primarily responsible for maintaining and improving the ship’s stowed transport machines. Such items include a 4-seater rover, and a 10-seater shuttle; to help compromise for the mother vessel’s limited mobility. The role also allows him to prototype different vehicles that would aid the crew, and play a significant role aboard the vessel.
Physical Description: Though Eli has experienced a few suggestive looks from passersby, he does not consider himself a typical beauty. He is almost 6’0: standing at the higher end of 5’11, with a fairly average body build, save his strong arms that come from years of working with machinery. He has large eyes of a deep brown colour, and his dark brown hair is usually pushed back with only the aid of his fingers, causing it to look lazily stylistic, though a little messy. His face itself is somewhat long and chiseled, and he is trying to add a little more definition in form of a beard, which at the present time only manifests itself as a little bit of scruff.
When working, Eli naturally wears the UH Navy uniform: a dull blue jacket that buttons up to act as a shirt, with appropriate insignia emblazoned on the chest. However, given the practical nature of his work, he leaves the jacket unbuttoned to reveal a white t-shirt that would take the brunt of any potential mess made. On top of this, he unbuttons the sleeves so he can pull them up just past his wrists. Off-duty, he usually wears a plain t-shirt underneath a variety of university or United Humanity military hoodies and jackets; with black jeans and brown shoes.
Personality Description: Eli is a somewhat soft spoken individual, and an introvert to boot. He can competently deliver a degree of small-talk, though is hardly ever the one to initiate anything further. Perhaps hand-in-hand with this, he takes his work incredibly seriously, offering an acute display of his dedication, and intellect. However, he also finds himself prone to irritation, whenever he puts his heart and soul into an endeavour and it unfortunately fails.
Despite his slightly reclusive image, Eli is a passionate and charismatic friend: almost always able to crack a joke, and offer help where its needed. Regrettably, it is not a trait many get to see.
Backstory: Elijah Finch never knew his father. He was born to a struggling single mother, completely oblivious to the train of events that left him with one parent. Though she tried her hardest, Lisa Finch wasn’t able to disguise the financial, mental, and physical struggle that she faced whilst raising her beloved son. She had a debilitating illness, one so rare and now that it made her feel so alone in the world. Worse, the doctors told her it was terminal, and would only get worse until the point that she passed away. Regardless of this, she still aimed to give Eli the best childhood he could have.
From a young age, he was aware of their economic situation, and her mother’s poor health, though wasn’t sure of its sheer severity. As such, he developed a keen appreciation of the education he received, opting to focus on his studies rather than socialising. This coupled with the large chunk of time he spent looking after (and generally spending time with) his sick mother, made Eli quite a friendless child, save one or two schoolmates. But he didn’t care: he had all the love he needed at home.
Growing up, he began to notice a few warning signs in his mother’s behavior, and it wasn’t long after that she gave him the whole truth. The following months were difficult for Eli: knowing the woman he loved so much wouldn’t live as healthily as most people, and would probably leave the world so much quicker. The only benefit this brought was that it solidified the young man’s determination to do good by himself and his mother, through success and continued shows of compassion, though it was a hollow gift.
After graduating from secondary school, Eli was adamant that he would pay for the best health care he could afford; to move his mother to a medical facility to keep her comfortable and well, whilst also taking the herculean task of maintaining the family house.
He found a miracle in the form of a paid apprenticeship with United Humanity: an engineer within the military. Through the years of training, the emerging twenty-year-old applied his academic fire with extraordinary grit, whilst also spending all the money on his mother’s welfare. Keeping his head down throughout this, and Eli quickly found himself to be a respected engineer within the prestigious organisation: and later took on the essential role of teaching those junior to him.
This stable system completely turned on itself after over a decade of continuation, where the well-regarded employee was offered an opportunity to leave the rocky shackled of Earth, and travel beyond the stars. Funded and organised by United Humanity, he knew this was an offer many of his colleagues would kill to receive, but he had his trepidations. The pay was amazing for someone who came from such a deprived background, but he would have been so far away from Earth: from his mother. The very idea of her going through pain, or even death, knowing her son may not be there to comfort her, both terrified and depressed him.
He went to her to talk about it. It was then that she revealed to him about the type of man his father was. An angry man, a drunk, and someone who never took opportunities when they presented themselves, because the status quo was so much easier to uphold. She told him about their split whilst she was still pregnant, and how much she hated him now. She knew her son was the polar opposite to his father, and that was exactly why he had to take the job. He had already given her all the love she needed, and knowing her son could make as big a difference to the world as he did to her, she could die happy.
So with a brave expression, and a face-to-face messaging system installed, Eli accepted the offer of 'Chief Vehicular Technician' aboard the PTC Wayward Spear, preparing for the day he would first step aboard. When that day came, he knew he would make the best of it, not just for himself, or his mother, but for anyone who could benefit in some way through the mission
