- Raven -
"I understand it's late. But we'll be waiting here until the High Chancellor arrives," Lilly informed, crossing her arms as she narrowed her eyes to look at the man. "What kind of people do you want to get rid of?" Something about this guy is odd. I hope he isn't a mercenary or spy. Her fingers began to dig into the water bottle in hand and Mira cast a worrying gaze to Lilly and then back to the questioned man.

- The Harvester -
The Harvester shook his head. "You're suspicious. I don't blame you. I'm a suspicious man." He casually placed his hands behind his head to indicate he meant her no harm, but keeping an eye on her hand holding the bottle. A weapon when thrown, at least. Hopefully not anything worse than that. "Dangerous people. Supernatural people. Just over twenty-four hours ago, your city was ravaged by them. Heartania needs help, and I'm willing to give it... for a price, of course." He pulled his scarf back up over his mouth, muffling his last sentences slightly. "If you want me to wait here, that is fine. I will be patient."

- Argent Mind -
Argent Mind retired to his room on the Tower, exhausted from the battles he had faced. Slumping down in a chair, he let out a long sigh. His old bones were weary, and the past few day's events weighed heavily upon him. The villains were back in force. The Marshal, Reaver, and many others were attacking and plotting and tearing into Heartania. The young heroes surrounding him were brave and earnest, and many could reach great futures. But they were under terrible threat. These foes would try to kill them. In his years, Argent Mind had seen it before. The flower of youth cut down fighting while he struggled on. Brightstar, Sanguine Comet, Wildblade, Shimmer, The Steel Twins, Ultra Girl, Galeheart, Justice Watcher, Silver Sentinel... All alike in their passion and all alike in their graves. Years alone separated them, and Argent Mind remembered them all as friends, brothers and sisters in arms. It did him no good, he knew, to think over what he had lost. But he could not help but think, as they entered this new dark age, how many more good souls he would see fall before his own time came to a close. He closed his eyes to stop the tears, and fell back into the darkness that he hid as Argent Mind. Despite his mastery of telepathy, mastery of his own head had never been fully in his grasp. Alf Jones returned for but a moment as dispair took him. He was saved, however, from his grim thoughts, by the chime of his communicator. It was Doctor Wood, calling from the Institute. He grimaced at the timing, before clicking the answer and the worn face of his old friend appeared on the screen before him. Harry Wood was a remnant of the old days. Once, he had been Shining Aegis, a rather romanticised name for a paragon of the heroic ages. He was known for two things- an unparalleled intellect and the remarkable ability to be almost indestructible. Not just physically, but mentally as well- Argent Mind had never once cracked his iron will. His pregnant wife had been murdered a few years before Alf lost his own wife, and he had retired from heroics not long after to set up the Institute. The programme was, in essence, a secure facility where supers with limited control of their own abilities were kept- not villains, simply those who would be dangerous to the greater public. Many years on, his hair was grey and he had developed a slight paunch, but he was still a hero at heart. "Alf." Wood greeted with a smile that held all the weight of their old friendship. "You haven't called in days!" Argent Mind nodded sadly at that. "I know. It's been busier than you can imagine here. Heartania is... Facing difficulties." At Alf's reponse, Wood chuckled. "Oh, I know. Prison breakouts, nuclear disasters, cyborg attacks... Shit, Jones, you've got yourself in a bloody mess. It's not as bad as the news makes it out to be though, right?" He leant forwards. Argent mind could see the monitors lining the walls behind him. "It's not as bad as the days of the Destroyer Legion?" "Worse. We had more heroes back then." At that, Wood let out a long whistle "Jesus. Well, at least you've got that Tower now." He nodded appreciatively. "We could've done with something like that decades ago! Should give you a chance!" "That's the idea.... That's the idea."

- Raven -
"Supernatural people? As in people with super powers?" Lilly asked for clarification, her heat beginning to thump in her chest. She quickly stepped to Mira's side and began to mutter. "Mira, escort all of the assistants to their room." In any case, Lilly didn't want any of the assistants at risk, if she thought the man meant what he said. But at the same time, this could be used to their advantage. If I could manipulate this person and not show any signs of my power. This person could kill our enemies. Stop The Broker and Luke from having to do things like this heist. I've just got to tread carefully.

- The Broker -
The mercenaries fired and the Broker drew up his shield to continue running towards the hostage he wanted back. He succeeded....mostly. Most of the fire deflected, protecting his body, and the helmet was withstanding the occasional clicks, though there was one area that wasn't protected enough, his feet. The bullets shot through his feet and the lower section of his legs, forcing him to collapse face first onto the metal floor. The pain was awful, his feet were bleeding, and he hasn't even retrieved one of his targets. The shield was raise, though he had to resort to dragging himself forward, further towards Felix. Another bullet caught his foot, and with that he couldn't stand it. He simply yelled in pain, a yell so hard he wouldn't be surprised if the people back at the Tower heard him. - Shadow Fixer -
Reaver seemed to be angry, she decided to focus on his head, bad move. She did have some power strikes, though he needed to deliver a special message. One clang went towards his head before he sheathed his blade quickly. A second strike came toward him, and he clashed it away with his right hand. 90% on that arm remaining, not a bad strike. But Reaver changed her tactics and decided to go for a thrust towards his chest. By instinct, both his hands came together and grabbed the blade, sliding him back on the field a small distance in the process. He looked at Reaver's eyes, and simply said "You've become too predictable". He swung her blade to the side before delivering a sock to Reaver's stomach with his still enhanced left hand.

- The Harvester -
The Harvester stood up, cocking his head to one side. "Now now, I thought I made it clear I meant you no harm. I'm only here for the bad ones, the supernaturals who will use what they have to bully the rest of us. Those... ravagers, if you will." He put his hands in the air beside his head. The last thing he wanted was to threaten anybody. He was tired, and couldn;t be bothered with a fight right now. "Can I sit back down, or will you call an armed guard in here?"

"I see...Sit," Lilly said, still somewhat suspicious but at the very least, she managed to ensure the safety of the many assistants in the Citadel. She continued to wait around for Luke and Broker to return and decided to make idle conversation. "So what exactly made you think the Citadel was trustworthy?" She asked, trying to deduce the man in front of her and what exactly he wanted. Money? Power? Revenge? What does he want?

He pulled his scarf back down, smiling as he sat. Now we're getting somewhere."Not trustworthy... lucrative. I need to find people who will pay me for my profession, and a government institution is as good as any place to find such people. The Chancellor is also rumoured to be... knowledgeable of many, many things. He will know who is worth hunting."

Hunt. The words reverberated around her mind like a chrysalis flight among a fair summers field. She wondered what the man meant by lucrative. "Who exactly are you?" Lilly asked, trying to find a name but failing. How did this man know about The Broker? About the Citadel?

- La Mirage -
Jade's eyes opened slowly. The room was filled with darkness, but something warm and soft rested on her shoulder. Jade carefully moved her head to see Mira peacefully asleep and gently laid her down on the bed with the help of her telekinesis. She rubbed her eyes and remembered where she was, sent a glance towards Alex and quietly rose from the bed. I need a cup of tea.She gently closed the door behind her, yawned, and tried to find her way to the kitchen. After getting lost for the fifth time, she stopped outside a large door she was just about to pass by. Jade heard the muffled sound of Lilly's voice, decided to swallow her pride and intrude, cautiously, to ask her for directions. Hopefully she's not doing anything important."Hello?" Jade knocked on the door and entered the large hall, realising it must've been the room they'd held the fund raiser. She saw Lilly talking to a man dressed in black and walked over to them while her eyes gleamed yellow out of curiosity. Huh? They're still up at this hour?

Lilly turned as she heard a soft voice in the main hall.
"Oh hello Jade," Lilly replied smiling weakly as she barely remembered the woman's name. "Is there something you need?" Lilly kept side-eyeing the Harvester, still distrustful of his manner.

- Argent Mind -
Alf and Harry discussed recent events for a little longer, but both knew they were stalling. Wood clearly had something to say, and his old friend wasn't willing to push too far for fear of what might come. Eventually, though, the hardest words have to come. "Alf... She had another attack last night." Wood's face grimaced with pain as the hero winced. "Is she alright? Was anyone hurt?" He finally asked, recovering his composure. "Yeah... She's fine, and no one was seriously injured. I had to step in and sedate her though." The was real sorrow in his voice and eyes. "She got into one of the assistant's heads. Nearly convinced him to kill himself befoe we stopped her." "She's getting worse, isn't she? I thought... I hoped she might get better but..." "We have to face facts, Alf. Cassie isn't improving, she hasn't been for years. Sometimes she's completely lucid, but then she does something like this and we have too keep her in solitary for another few years. I'm sorry..." Wood knew his apologies wouldn't help. How could they? Argent Mind's daughter was so dangerous that he could never again see her in person. She would never be free of the Institute. When the hero had lost his wife, he lost his daughter too. He just didn't realise it until it was too late. - Reaver -
No, Cooper, you are. Reaver thing to herself as she twisted away. Cooper was holding her sword and she knew a puch was coming, so she detached the blade and left him holding one half as she slid around him. She wasn't even there anymore when he went to punch her.
"That's becoming a mantra, Cooper." She commented gleefully, slashing away. "Keep calling me predictable if you wish. If your stratagy of constantly drawing and sheathing your sword is what's required to be surprising, I'll keep to my method, thanks!"

- Lazarus -
Dominic hesitated and looked at Sarah as Edison ran in. Sarah nodded slowly from behind the oxygen mask, she needed sleep anyways. Dominic stood up and walked over to Edison to help him, he led Edison out into the hall from Sarah's room. The lights in the hallway flicked on, revealing the long white corridor of the medical bay. It was a quiet day and most of the doctors were out, so the brighter lights automatically switched off, leaving only dim lights that were on for emergencies and at night. Dominic put his arm around Edison to help him into the room next to Sarah's and blinked, "I take it you overexerted yourself Eddie, what'd you get yourself into this time?"

- Harvey Hare -
Harvey awoke with a startle and cold sweat on his head, whipping away the sweat from his forehead he said "oh god, where am i now?" gasping away as he thought of the pediment he was in, images of destruction and rabid drinking were running through his head "i ... i gotta get home, need to clean up before people start coming out for work" he said as he looked around for his jacket, grabbing it and putting it on he felt around his person for his keys to his apartment, putting his hands in his pocket he found a business card saying 'Problem Drinking? come to the AAA meeting in lower Heartaina where we can cure your demon with the bottle! ' crushing the card up in his hand he threw the scrunched up card behind him "cant believe i had hope for that place, just turned me into more of a laughing stock" he said to him self as he walked forward Looking around he found him self a block or two away from the Park, looking towards the park he saw a strange light coming from it

Jade blinked a couple of times and shifted her gaze to Lilly, who seemed suspiscious of the man sitting in the chair. Upon closer inspection she tilted her head and noted that the man, though not at first intimidating, seemed to be one of the shady figures of Heartania. Hmm.. She doesn't trust him?
Jade's head tilted back and she smiled at Lilly, her eyes changing from yellow to a friendlier green. "Actually, I was just going to make myself a cup of tea and wondered if you knew the way to the kitchen. I keep getting lost. Can I bring you anything?" She nodded to the pair of them. "I presume you're waiting for the High Chancellor?"
