- Jade - Two invisible arms hugged the Broker tight until the cars had driven away; only then Jade reappeared, standing perfectly still chest to chest with the wounded man she couldn’t let go of. Soaked to the bone with her usually red curly hair turned into heavy straight dreads starting to stick to her face, she rested her chin on the Broker’s shoulder with a completely empty look on her face. There was nothing on her mind in that exact moment, except the feeling of fear; fear of being alone, fear of having to go through the next days with the Broker, fear of what the future might hold for herself and those she cared for. What would she do if something like this happened again? These two months had left a scar deeper than she had ever imagined was possible, and with the man in her arms who she pretended to love had just showed that he did exactly the same to her; pretend. They didn’t love each other, they needed each other. Jade was still a disposable chess piece to him- even if she was The White Queen, they could and eventually would have to be sacrificed for the end goal. She didn’t care what he would do next; her words could be misinterpreted, but this was a stone she had to get off her chest. As she slowly lifted her head closer to his ear, her face still void of all emotion but her eyes as white as the sclera’s surrounding them, she spoke quietly with the softest voice she could through her slightly choking throat. “It’s over.”

CLAUDIA KRAMER They were gone, the fight was over and they had won, and now was the time to clean everything up. "Alright, get every body accounted for, it's best if we get everyone informed." The mice agreed, and they all scattered checking every single body. Claudia took in a deep sigh of exhaustion, it should've been a good day, but it turned into complete hell. All they needed to do now was pick up the pieces. As she walked through the main gate as the outer gates shutter finally closed, isolating the Citadel finally, she saw the two people she considered her closest connection, locked into arms.
JONATHAN KRAMER He held onto the girl as she wrapped her arms around him. It was a moment of relief and he sunk his head into her shoulder. Some of his tears finally leaked out and he sniffed over the weight that bulked him. He screwed up, he screwed up bad, and he needed to fix things, not just for Jade, but for everyone else. And then she whispered two words into his ear, and he felt nothing. Some part of him wanted to cry more, some part of him wanted to beg her to reconsider, but if there was one thing Jade was good at it was making people open themselves up. He was completely desensitised from emotion thanks to the battle that just occurred, and Jade's decision was one that not only he would respect, but one he would recommend after some thought. He was a danger to her, and he needed to stay away from her. He had dragged her into too many dangerous situations, "That's fine." It was all he could croak out before looking into her eyes for the last time. "Just....stay safe." He gave out a weak smile before pecking her on the forehead. He separated himself from her and simply looked at the bodies being taking into the morgue. One stood out, Lilly. She was being brought in after having her life taken away from a man whose ambition killed too many. He could barely look at her, but he told the body "thank you, for everything." The body was wheeled through the doors into citadel proper. He wanted to take another look at the field, the blood, the death, the destruction, and he coughed to clear his throat as he finally saw her. The place once again fell silent as the two siblings stared at each other. One who escaped death and the other who once embraced it. One had some energy left while the other barely had any, and even though one of his connections to the human world was severed, he had one that he would hold onto until his final breath. He couldn't help himself but drift towards her.
CLAUDIA KRAMER They saw each other for the first time in what seemed like a decade. The battle had passed but the damage was done to him. No longer did he have life within him, his movement had little impact on the environment or the people around him. The pale man she called her brother was drifting like a ghost, yet she couldn't help to start walking towards him. The walk sped up, turning into a jog, before turning into a run before they finally collided. Arms wrapped around each other as she closed her eyes to let the light tears flow. It was dangerous but she was glad it was over. The shoulders of Jonathan rose and fall very quickly as noised not associated with the man she knows too well gushed out. She felt the grip of her brother's hands tighten on her hair and shoulder blade as Jonathan broke down. The sobs were heard, and Claudia did her damnedest to keep him standing. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," he pushed out with little resistance. "I've fucked up, I've fucked up hard. You, me, Jade, Felix, Luke, Lil--" "Hey, there there," she let out softly, hearing the light cough of her brother. "We all make mistakes." "But my mistakes has brought this onto us, I should've thought different, I've been so selfish and it has brought death onto everyone." The man kept sobbing and coughed loudly as his lungs struggled under the pressure, and yet, no matter how much he apologised and confessed, it didn't hit Claudia. In the end, he was alive, and that was all that matter to her.

Ripley launched into the air, full attack mode. Like fuck was he going to let them take him, he wasn't going to give up yet. Though he felt despair, though he felt as if everything he wanted to protect just got ripped away from him, he wasn't going to give up. From the roof of the Citadel he flew.
It didn't take long to be above the van, his right arm cracked and crunched, a fleshy whip replacing it. He coiled it up then threw, latching it onto the rear-end bumper of the van, and flying with all his strength backwards to stop the van. Ripley was going to fight them, and he was going to get Felix back, even if it nearly killed him.

-Joltz- The two copys of Joltz appear near the orginal on the roof creating a bright blue light as they stood closer to one another, the orginal looked over at the two one had a meanacing grin on its face as the other was the complete oposite with a face frown of disapointment and anger, the orginal turned her head and looked over at the Reaver and the man one of the copy saw who was the broker, Reaver turned away and started to walked away from him and back out the entrance to the bridge, giving a nod to the others the original started to walk to the edge of the roof untill one of her copys grabbed her shoulder and stopped her, it was the one with the grin and it was widening as it turned to the turrets a small smirk appeared on face and she started to turn away untill the other copy grabbed her hand and placed it on the turret infront of them, sparks startde to fly and elctricity ran across the hands as they layed on the turret the other copy placed her and on top of them, looking at the two she knew what they wanted to do letting out all of there energy they sent a powerful surge that traveled through the turrets and they exploded one by one, as the smoke filled the roof as it rained bits of broken turret down on top of the roof suddenly out of the smoke something jumped into the air with a smoke trail behind it "Wheee!!!" Joltz shouted as she flew through the air, as she started to fall she aimed for the power lines and landed on them surfing across them she past Reaver and shouted "that was fun Revee we should do it again some time, but ... maybe kill some one important like that Broker guy who ever that is"

ANOMALY | Rory Cross He could sense it. The Titan - this hulking beast that Rory faced - was a perfect hybrid of tech and organic muscle. Rory could feel the hi-tech machinery that coursed through the Titan's physiology; so advanced for such an uncivilised creature. He'd seen such before, found in the bodies of augmented supers that had suddenly gone rampaging in public places. Random acts of chaos but always this same advanced tech. The trail had brought Rory back to Heartania once again, and he knew he was hot on the heels of a breakthrough. "Tower o Tower!!" Rory called with a quavering tone down the comms link he'd just hacked into. His transmission signal was weak but hopefully it'd get through to someone, "Could really do with an assist downt-" No, damn. He'd been booted off of the link. The security was too tight even for Rory. He was barely hurting this creature. Clearly it was resistant to whatever magics Rory commanded. He'd need more force to topple this foe.

- Jade - “..you too.” As the embrace ended the expression on Jade's face remained though her mouth twitched into a half smirk when he kissed her forehead. With a soulless gaze she turned away, walking past the blurry chaos around her, and stepped inside the Citadel. She noticed no one when she walked through the Citadel's walls though there were plenty passing by her. What would she do now? What had her life turned into? With every step towards her room inside the fortress, she felt a trudging sadness starting to get hold of her- but at the same time a sense of relief. For the first time inside the rock-made prison she didn’t just feel alone; she was completely abandoned the second she whispered the sweet stinging words to the Broker. Nothing rang louder inside her head than the fact that he had chosen to let her go. Maybe somewhere deep inside he did actually love her. But Jade had stopped thinking like that a while ago. No matter what they had felt, now that she could see clearly, it was obvious she was safer alone than with the one that had promised to help her and done the exact opposite. She wondered what would happen to him and Claudia, what would happen to herself because of this mess. She could always slip away… but then there was the problem with Jessica Paige. And now that she and the Broker had ended, she didn’t dare assume he would protect her any longer. As she stepped inside her dark room, she went over to the big corkboard hanging at the wall and stopped to stare at its organised papers. One by one she started to pick them down, giving each of them a glance as she put them back in their respective folders and placed them in the cardboard box on the floor. Still standing in the dark, she looked at the outlines of the bed in her room and went over to the bed, knelt down and pulled out the suitcase with all her most precious belongings. She couldn’t see what was in it, but she didn’t need to- she pulled out her old cell phone and turned it on, feeling its familiar shape in the dark. The screen lit up and she glared at it through squinted eyes, before placing it on her bed. And so, she sat still, and tasted the long overdue bitter drops of tears and despair roll down her face.

CLAUDIA KRAMER The embrace lasted for what seemed like an eternity. It felt warm, comforting, something that was needed after the hours upon hours of chaos that had unfolded, and it was a sensation that Claudia and Jonathan missed. The Kramer siblings, finally together, and the worries of what a good chunk of the population would do to the two of them were behind them. He kept sobbing and clutching his hands in a progressively weakening manner. The loss comforted Claudia, knowing that Jonathan was becoming less and less tense, less paranoid, and more relaxed. His breathing was slowing down, and it was at that point that the embrace ended... ...and so did the smile on Claudia's face.
JONATHAN KRAMER He let go of the embrace to see her face, the face of family, and the face he worked too hard to protect. The sweet face that helped him through the troubles, and the face that would implicitly comfort him for years to come. But the smile wasn't there, it was the face of a shocked woman who had seen death. It would be understandable for Jonathan, the environment was all too alien for everyone, but it became clear as day as the sensation of liquid reached his lips. He took a finger to see, and the darkness of the substance said all, but before could put it into words or even call on someone, he coughed again. The darkness also came out and landed on his hand, and then another chunk came out, and then another, and then another. The coughing increased in frequency and before he knew it he was lurching over himself to try and remedy it. It didn't work, and the coughing continued and the sensation of drowning dawned on him, he collapsed to the ground in a state, all the while his hearing was drowning out, with the faint sound of a female yelling "HE'S COUGHING BLOOD, MEDIC! ANYONE!" He couldn't move his eyes or say a thing, and what felt like a river of blood flowed out of his mouth.

Reaver In moments, almost too fast to react to, it was over. Felix appeared, the Broker agreed, the girl vanished, and without a second word, it was over. Reaver was left standing in the middle of the courtyard as everyone made a move for the heavy vehicles, almost at a loss for words. Everything was moving on without her, and she was going to have to go with it. She watched as Nariko barked orders to her troops, moving the wounded and loading in to leave this hellhole of a castle behind. She couldn't help but roll her eyes at the speed that everyone was retreating with. No time to breath, eh?As she turned to walk with the group, she took one last moment to look back at the Broker and the rest. "Thank you, Citadel. Its been a lovely evening, but we really must be getting on. Farewell, and goodnight." With that, she swept around, coat billowing in the wind, and followed behind, leaping on one of the few . The first one to the wall, and perhaps the last to leave. Looking for a vehicle, she headed off to one of the few left by the Vipers, a motorbike that, carrying only one person, was deemed to small for their mostly-wounded remnant. She hopped on and roared away, following the convoy close behind, travelling alone again.

CLYDE ERWIN | KINETIC WARDEN Heartania | Citadel Outpost Alpha 1st December 2063 | 06:21PM The battle had begun to dwindle in chaos, as too did the number of combatants. In all his years, the Warden had never experienced a massacre quite like this. The tactics of combat were not anything particular unique, and he was all too familiar with superhuman clashes... but the futility of the ideals behind the mock-war were what shook him. The political games of Acchilleus and The Broker may have meant something to some of the fighters involved, though he was sure they meant nothing once the final breath of life escaped their bodies. And he was right there, in the middle of it all, forced to be a commander of a mitigating force. Forgetting his better sense of endurance, he wished it could all end much sooner than he did. Returning the Tower outpost, covered in blood and grime, he began to issue the orders better suited for a reduction in the fighting. The bulk of Tower forces were to return to the various outposts that bordered the battlefield, to protect the medical staff, as well as be on hand to escort them across the field of blood to procure any forlorn injured. A handful of men and women remained, to scout and observe from within. He was also cautious to order back the more independent operatives, as they likely did not need his words to guide them. So, being as satisfied as he could be in the situation, the Warden retracted his quarterstaff, and went in search of Ali, which given her Hippocratic tendencies, was not a hard task. He found her, in and amongst the swathes of medics the Tower employed, helping those she could. A part of him admired it, yet another part knew such an endeavour would never be his duty: he would be the one to keep the medics in work, whether it be to treat his own wounds, or those of others. Unable to think on this for too long, he simply folded his arms, and spoke coldly, "Have you ever seen anything like it?" ELIZABETH CHASE | NEMESIS Heartania | Citadel Bridge 1st December 2063 | 06:21PM It felt wrong... It all felt wrong. Elizabeth left her old life to avoid these sort of horrors; the horrors of violence; of fear, and of the horror of realising ones own mortality, or the mortality of those around you. Indeed, the newfound beauty of practising law was - to her - the ideal that you could make a difference without laying a finger on anyone. What was she doing here, dressed up and ready to fight? What was she doing enabling someone who had the intent to kill two people without a second thought? She knew no matter the answer, she wouldn't find it in that moment, or in that place. So, she slowly walked away from the dulling bedlam, to a point where she could throw a spectral chain onto the nearest rooftop and escape through the skyline. She wanted to help as Nemesis, but she just ended up missing Elizabeth Chase: District Attorney.

Ali was tired, her leg was playing up from so much time on her feet and she was dreading trying to find somewhere to sleep. Still even as the fighting had wound down with vehicles driving away she knew that sleep would have to wait. There would be many people left to help especially now they had to cart out the dead along with the living.
"Yes but not in a decent number of years." She replied honestly surprised at the familiar voice. Her own voice was a little rough around the edges. She couldn't look him in the eye in case it broke through her careful numbness she had been putting together for the task ahead. Dying people didn't get to her, she could try to help. The dead just made her feel guilty.
She waved at some team members getting them to start to move towards the field of combat with their honour guards, allowing her to move a little out of earshot with Clyde.
"It's going to be a long night. Shit." The swear word felt sharp and unfamiliar on her tongue. "I forgot to call for more body bags earlier."
She sighed rubbing at her cold face.

CLYDE ERWIN | KINETIC WARDEN Heartania | Citadel Outpost Alpha 1st December 2063 | 06:23PM Clyde narrowed his piercing, old eyes as Ali briefly spoke and then cut him off. Perhaps she thought he wouldn't realise how distantly she had been acting around him, or perhaps she thought whatever she was hiding by doing so was so dire, it to be kept secret. He allowed himself to give her a stern stare for a few moments, sighed, and then abruptly turned his back on her and left. He still had work to do.

~ Snowflake ~ The car Snowflake was driving suddenly started to hold back for some reason, and she looked at the different gauges in front of her puzzled her. After some closer examination to the rearview mirror, she saw something like a rope trying to hold them back, except it wasn’t successful in the slightest- at best it only slowed them down. She stuck her head out the window and looked back, catching the sight of who, or as she once had called him, what was intent on preventing them from leaving. She looked back at Felix who sat slumped in the backseat and waited for it all to be over. Felix’s surrender, the Ravagers escaping the Citadel, and now this! Through her blodshot eyes, the timing couldn’t have been worse. ’I don’t have time for this shit.’With a brutal kick down on the brake pedal, the car screeched as it swerved slightly from side to side and switched from break-neck speed to a sudden halt. If this didn’t throw the little bugger off, Snowflake would have to deal with him herself.

CLAUDIA KRAMER Jonathan was gasping for air, and as the medical team arrived with a gurney, Claudia became more and more panicked. "DON'T GO, DON'T COUGH, WE'RE HERE FOR YOU!" she screamed and cried as the poor soul under her was passing before her eyes. She needed to help them assess the situation, make him comfortable, and stop the drowning. They needed to know what could've caused this much damage in a more explicit way, and with a sharp knife to cut off his uniform they got the answer. His entire left arm, now fully exposed, was completely purple from internal trauma, and that colour extended to his left breast. Whatever happened between the start and end placed Jon on a counting down clock. Knowing this, Claudia tried her damndest to keep her tears back, she knew what it was like descending into the void, and there was no way she was going to let Jon enter such a place. "Please Jon, please don't leave me! Please don't leave us Jon", she begged, voice croaking as the young boy kept coughing his lungs out, at a slower frequency that only served to escalate her panic. She placed her hand on his face and said, "Please don't go, we still have work to do. Don't leave me here, Jon."
JONATHAN KRAMEROh dearest sister, I only wanted the best for all of us, I only wanted to keep this city secure, and all I wanted during this chaos was to see you two again. The thought kept echoing through Jonathan's as his senses were betraying him. His hearing was becoming less reliable, his vision was becoming unfocused, and all he could do was continue the motions that whoever attacked him set into motion. Was it Reaver, was it Nariko, or was it someone else? He didn't care, it was too much of a waste to care when the end was becoming far clearer to him. His head was tilted to the side as he saw his vision darken, with lights passing through him as he continued to spew up blood, all to the panic and screams of at least two people he could barely hear, one of them guaranteed to be his sister. He closed his eyes for a moment, and had a moment to think. What could he have done differently that would've altered the path that lead to this conclusion? He could've treated Daniel Wu differently upon first contact. He could've warned Jade about his plan against Paige, or at least prepare for a less dramatic conclusion that would keep her safe. He could've ensured Luke and Lilly got a better life for themselves without having it end like this, on a battlefield in a sea of blood and gunpowder. He could've only kept Kay safe instead of attempting to find out what was wrong. He could've treated Jason better due to the work he had placed on the man. He could've talked to Jade about the connection between him and her, establish something. Come to think of it he didn't even take her out to dinner throughout the two months they lived in the same building. Yet, he found comfort within himself in some way. The man who divided the city was gone, the city was about to experience the old ways before the world exploded, and he would finally get the chance to be at peace in some way or another. His thoughts turned back to Jade, and the ending of the fight. He was a complete idiot and he should've known that toying with other people was going to hit him back in some way or another. That lack of empathy is what he regretted, it's what greyed out when he got that fateful email that made him who he was today, and he wished he found that out sooner. Maybe he and Jade could've developed something, maybe he could ask Luke to pick at his brain some more, since he was someone who knew clearly what was wrong with him. In a way, he was happy that he and Jade are over in they way that it was supposedly was. They had their time, but it was clear that Jade being with the man known as Broker had her going through a minefield with someone unreliable as a guide. It placed her in danger, from Reaver, to Paige, to whoever could be on the horizon, and maybe by distancing herself from him could give her the chance to eliminate the mess that he caused. His eyes dropped as the coughing came to a close, and a tube was placed near his gag reflex to levitate the drowning sensation that clouded his thoughts. The muffled sound of the woman he had know for as long as he can remember continued, and soon the room became dark. The woman's screams were silenced, and light tingling sensations started to cloud his mind and his body. His breathing slowed down as his eyelids finally closed, with his mouth lifting weakly to form a smile. All I wanted was to see you two again, and I got my wish. How...comforting.
CLAUDIA KRAMER Claudia stared at the door that separated her from Jonathan. She stood there, red eyed, damp face, legs trembling. It took a few seconds, but she dropped to her knees and looked to the floor. Her hands, covered in the raw blood of her younger brother, reached out and touched the double doors in front of her. Her eyes closed, her teeth grinding, and her nose exhaled the sounds of a destroyed woman. She let out a scream, before collapsing on the floor, not holding back the tears and her emotional state.

Shade The faint hum of machines and the steady rhythm of the heart monitor, those were the sounds that sat with Shade at Jason's bedside. She herself was silent, unable to find anything to say. There was no one to hear her anyway, Jason was on the edge of death and no one else was around, but she felt as if she should speak to him, call to him, let him know she was there... It was a stupid sentiment, one that made the cynic in her scoff, but as she sat and watched her closest friend hang in the balance between living and... not, sentiments like those were becoming way too important. The door swung open with enough force to dent the wall, shaking Shade out of her drifting thoughts and almost three feat into the air in surprise. Her head snapped to face the new arrival, and her heart dropped. Kate stood in the doorway, her face a mask of horror and fear and pain, her feelings so clear in her expression that Shade may have cried just seeing it, were she able to. The stricken girl walked slowly to her brother, falling to her knees by his bed, tears streaming down her face as she went- Kate never liked to cry, Shade knew, but she made no effort to stop them here. She simply held her brother, the most important, kind, sweet person left in her life, and sobbed. Shade ducked out of the door, leaving Kate to her pain. She couldn't be there with that kind of trauma, that kind of hurt. Kate's was a private agony, one Shade knew she could not, would not share. She took her seat outside, and began to wait. The girl in there could lose her brother tonight. And Shade would lose the man who was probably her last true friend.

- Jade Blythe - Another low, but desperate scream reached Jade’s ears as she still sat immobilized in her dark room, crying until she at last could breathe a bit easier, knowing that, to her, it was all finally over. Paranoia or maybe a sense of freedom should have started taken hold of her by now, but oddly enough as the streak of light entered from the small gap in the door she felt only despair. ’What do I do?’The light of her cell phone’s screen slowly died down while she sat there, and as it did, it dawned upon her that she wasn’t completely alone in the world. She still had her dad who was waiting anxiously for her in Capital City, she still had Michael who had moved away from Heartania, and she also had little Mira, Ftangr, and maybe even Shade and Jason to some degree, not to forget Claudia. At this thought her head tilted back for her to stare up at the ceiling- -and then she flicked the light on with her telekinesis. With trembling legs she stood up like a newborn fawn taking its first steps onto the rocky ground underneath them, and stared out the window at the still pouring weather. In one swift turn she went over to her closet and started rummaging through her clothes, tearing out sweaters, dresses and pants and throwing them into a pile underneath the window over at the other side of the room. Nearly all of the closet’s contents went into the pile, each garment having one thing in common; they had been given to, or bought by, Jade while she was living in the Citadel. It refreshed her memory to go through them all, but one purple dress stood out; the one she’d been wearing during the fundraiser event when the Broker and his allies returned from Capital City, the lot of them beaten up to the point where they needed hospital care. Now, as she looked at it, she felt nothing but sadness, disgust and distress. ’I brought this upon myself.’With the dress scrunching in a tight grip she walked over to the window and opened it wide. The wind whipped raindrops at her already soaked face, but she was unfazed as she held the purple dress out of the window and dropped it, letting it fall to the crashing waves below. Without regret she picked up the next garment and held that too, outside the window. ’I should have listened to all the warnings.’The t-shirt she held fluttered in the wind and she started to recall some memories from before the fight at the bridge. With every thought she let the clothing go, before picking up a new one and holding that one out of the window as well, repeating the seemingly endless cycle as if in a trance until there was none left. She remembered Typhoon, warning her of pulling strings, the day after Reaver stabbed her in the leg. ’Bloody maniacs.’And the murder of Paige, which haunted what should have been a bright future. ’Why don’t I ever listen?’With a smile she had offered Luke a cup of coffee, then continued down the corridor until she reached the meeting room. ’I’m done.’Shade, running out of the Broker’s office, telling them to run away as fast as they could because he’d just tortured someone in front of Felix, a boy she’d later come to adore. Why had she stayed? ’Never again. And their first kiss; now recalled with disdain, she tried to forget the fact she’d blushed like a red tomato when Shade walked in on them. ’It’s over.’As his duties piled up the fortress grew colder, and with the freezing chill followed a paranoia which slowly started to cripple her actions. When had been the last time she went out to Heartania, alone, with or without ‘friends’? ’It’s finally over.’And of course, her last memory of the hostage situation followed by a bittersweet goodbye. She had turned her back as the Broker and his sister hugged, numb as she had navigated herself to her room. It was unlikely they would ever speak directly to each other again, and Claudia… How would she react? ’Am I… free?’She stood still for a minute and let the winds continue to lash at her, before her cold tingling hands reached for the frame of the window and shut them. ’It’s over...
But..
I don’t feel free.’With a last glance out of the window, she started stripping off her clothes as she headed towards the bathroom. If this was to be her last night in the Citadel at least she would take use of its luxuries for one last time, trying to keep the new nagging whisper of despair away from her until she could get some rest. ’…I don’t think I’ll ever be free again.’
