- THE BROKER - The people, the poor poor people caught in the blast fuelled by hate and anger. The event, combined with the sheer pain he was going through due to Nariko, nearly caused him to pass out. His head was lacking oxygen, he tilted from side to side, struggling to gain a sense of perspective, but he saw some of the obvious. The line was barely holding, eight or ten mice giving their damnedest to hold the line with only riot shields and batons. Some had whatever weapon the viper they felled arrived with, but it didn't change the fact that an end was in sight, and it looked grizzly. He was surrounded by people who mostly hated him, most would delightly had his head on a stick, some on his own side, yet he was in a strange mindset. He was surrounded by people who hate him, but enough either wanted or needed him at the helm of the city to the end. He created this world, and by god he would see it end one way or another. The expended energy drained his muscles. His eyes dropped to a half awoken state, only able to see blood and gunfire. There was no sound, just the high pitch screech with the screams of his men and women as they passed into the Beyond.

THE QUEEN OF HEARTS | Alice Drake From her position everything was obscured. Alice cut her way through oncoming Mice - puny 'soldiers' with minimal prowess - before a scream tore her apart. A violent cascade of white razors scattered as a flurry of anger and pain. Even someone as unfeeling and cold as Alice knew what this meant immediately. "No." she whimpered, the pathetic sound lost to a sea of bullets and groans. She froze in place for a moment in shock, the world slowing around her as guilt set in. Alice was the fighter, Waters- Sienna shouldn't have gotten wrapped up in this. But as quickly as her guilt had approached so did a blade-wielding Mouse, using the window of opportunity to make an attack against the paralysed killer. In a wide motion the Mouse slashed, tearing painfully into Alice's arm. On reflex, clenching her teeth, Alice cleaved the same Mouse's head clean from his body, along with those of his surrounding comrades, in one fell swoop. Her eyes fixated on the archer as her heart palpitated violently and her vision turned red with rage. Alice watched as the archer used his dark ability to teleport herself out of the radius of Oren's frenzy. Numb of pain and grief out of necessity Alice made a charge for the archer, leaping over or cutting through anyone that got in her way.
CRIMSON | Thomas Drake Crimson smirked as the sound-based hero seemingly became frozen in fear. He stood on the spot, cocking his single pistol before hesitating and sheathing the weapon on his side. Instead, Crimson flicked his wrists, releasing the retractable twin hatchets in to his hands from his sleeves. He flourished the blades, getting ready to charge into an attack before - much to his surprise - being tackled to the ground with mighty force from behind. He made out his assailant quite quickly; the same winged hero he had observed, grabbing him by his arms. As he collided with the concrete Crimson quickly managed to bounce himself around to face the winged woman. Transferring all of his momentum efficiently he directed a kick with both of his legs directly into the chest of the woman that had her arms around his waist. At the same time he brought his axes down hard on her sides.
APOLLO | Jay Hearne "Do we even have a plan? We're not gonna to kill anyone are we? And are we really gonna to try an' save HIM?!" "For someone who appeared to be hellbent on killing anyone unnatural, you're very soft. Nobody will die. Killing is an obstruction of justice, in every form. As for what we're doing... well I figured you could help with that. Getting any signs of any bad energies around?" Jay ducked his head, nervously stroking the back of his head with an awkward bent elbow. "Killing normal men and women is a bit different. But okay. As for... that..." He closed his eyes, wincing as pain coursed through his head; like a migraine only worse. Jay's head jerked sharply from side to side sporadically as thoughts raced past his sight. "It's-" Jay opened his eyes, shocked but also seeming defeated. "It's hard to tell. There's some strong magic here, I can tell that much easily, but there's... something else. I can't see anything about it almost as if it's just a reflection of something else. It's not magic. It's just pure darkness, and I really don't like it."
Dr. Killian Wolfram Wolfram paced back and forth in his dark, mostly blue-lit control room. Growing restless he finally stood up, walking over to the automatic lifting doors to exit the chamber. He wandered down the fluorescent-lit, light blue painted hallways before overlooking his creation at work - a stunning view of the horrific construction and assembly line below through the high tensile glass. He smirked, reveling in his own brilliance before his eyes happened upon a monitor nearby providing an aerial live feed of the Citadel skirmish. Killian's eyes darted from point to point, not really focusing on any single point but rather trying to make sense of the hectic and massive happenings. He was almost saddened by the futility of their fighting due to the oncoming storm he would help conjure, though Wolfram mostly stared at this chaos and gave no reaction at all. He had seen conflict, he had seen strife, it was no longer exciting. But one thing certainly did pique the doctor's interest as a sonic blast ripped through the ground, vibrating the concrete at a frequency capable of phasing through anyone standing upon it. The ability was admirable but most of all it had to be his. Killian imagined the capabilities of such an ability; the scientific breakthroughs made possible and also the chaos it could wreak. One more essential for the collection.
ROGUE | Natalia Vargas Reluctant to do so, Natalia swallowed her inhibitions and gave her brother an approving yet humble smile as she joined him in the lift. She aimed her blaster at the sensor plate on the ground, activating the lift as the full-armour segments of her suit rematerialised around the spandex-like under-armour. "Lead the way, Hermano."
Emma Fitzgerald Heartania, Present Day 2063
Emma stood at her stove preparing tinned baked beans and fish fingers, just going through the motions. This felt wrong. There was a war going on outside these 'Safe' walls and civilians such as herself were expected to just carry on as if dozens weren't being slaughtered in their name. No, she'd experienced enough of that already for a life time. She though it was over; the bloodshed and warfare that haunted her life, and now his too. Tommy was back. She watched him march out the large gates towards that battleground and it was clear to her that he hadn't changed one bit; he was a soldier, but this time fighting for a different cause. He still didn't know about where she'd been; all of the things that had happened. And Emma hoped he never would.

Lilly was stunned, the barrage of paper that had cut through the line and left them open was all she could sense as her hair flicked back, the wind from the explosion pushing against her. She turned around, meeting the eyes of many Vipers as she saw Acchilleus, marching with them, only ever moving forward after coming out of cover. She was scared, and yet all the same, she was brave, taking her position as she glanced at the others, knowing they were behind the remnants of the line, blood and guts now painting the floor. She glanced over, watching Luke and James, with one another, rushing back.
“Luke,” She muttered as she was somewhat glad to see him heading to safety, catching a glance of her katana that was in his hands. Her attention, however, was taken away by the numerous men and women that were now launching themselves toward her. She quickly started moving back, icicles and streams of water catching the Vipers off their feet or piercing their flesh as she started making her way behind the lines. Her body, racked in pain, one boulder suddenly came launching toward her. Lilly dodged to the side, however her arm caught the very edge, causing her to spin to the ground as she yelled out in pain. “Fuck.” The only word that escaped her lips in a grunted murmur as she stumbled up, meeting the eyes of the man now in front of her; Acchilleus.

KINETIC WARDEN As he arrived at Ali's base camp, a transition from an operative came through, asking what to do with the High Chancellor. He recognised the voice, vaguely, causing the Warden to assume the individual must have been fairly prominent within the echelons of the heroes. The man's actual name was absent in his mind, and would have to wait to be filled in after the chaos had subsided. "Make sure the Chancellor doesn't die, and bring him over to Tower custody. He's a danger to himself, and his little personal league." With the order sent, the Warden was then able to focus on his surroundings in relative peace. Though no fighting was occurring in this sector, they were very much involved with conflict. Men and women in Tower uniform scurried from left to right. Some were even lightly armoured; charging into the mists of battle carrying medical packs. Quickly erected tents dotted the area, and even more densely populated were rather uncomfortable looking stretchers, where the wounded lay in pain. Despite the precarious nature of the base, the Warden got a strong sense that Ali had a good grip on things. She was in her element, after all. When he saw her there, she looked as stern as she had done in operations during the old days. Back then, he would have returned a grin, or some dark quip; but things were different now. He returned a grimace as soon as he knew she would be able to spot the shrapnel wounds. "I would've tended it myself, but there's not much room for haphazard surgery in a war zone."

"That's why you have trained medics to keep the fighters alive. You don't have to do everything with that big stick of yours."
Ali walked straight over to Clyde getting far into his personal space as she eyed the wounds carefully. Hands careful to not prod or poke too hard.
"I see you've taken out some of the shrapnel already."
She tutted, before turning round for some assistance.
"Ajay!" She yelled to the young man she could just spot in the next tent along. "Grab me some cleaning fluid from the side over there." Ali pointed with her cane hand before turning back to her unwilling patient.
"You know full well to wait. I seem to remember a time we had to reopen a bullet wound turning green that you ahem tended."
She grumbled as she ran a finger over one or two of the cleaner cuts watching the skin shift back into place.

The two of them simply stared at one another, in some ways, respecting the foe that had met them on the battlefield. Vipers continued their slaughter, the remnants of the Little Mice. Lilly, without her katana, found herself rising three beams of water, two at either side and one floating above her, dancing delicately in the winter air. Her arms felt like they would be crushed and collapse at any moment and yet she still ensued. She knew, here and now that she wouldn't be able to run away from this. Whether it helped Luke and all the others rushing behind the line or not, she knew that Acchilleus getting through that line would make all hell break loose. Acchilleus, almost sneered at the woman, part of him unable to take her seriously as a threat, as he found himself raising a boulder, watching it hang in the air. The two of them simply stared at one another and Acchilleus watched the Vipers begin to make their frontal assault on what was left of the line. The mercenaries that had been so kindly donated to his cause, organizing themselves. The tides had turned and Acchilleus would hope that the battle would end soon enough with their victory. But for now, another battle had just begun. Acchilleus launched his boulder towards the woman, causing the two of them to finally clash, and for this battle to begin anew.

- INDRAN - Ajay had just finished passing out the blankets when he heard Ali say, "Grab me some cleaning fluid from the side over there." He dropped the now empty box, and jogged over to where she had pointed, grabbing the bottle of cleaning fluid. He rushed over to Ali, handing it to her. He then stood back, watching, curious.

-Joltz- after slashing at a few Mice infront of her a slight breeze started to pick up to the side of her as she turned the breeze suddenly ripped apart the Mice to the side of her, the blood splatter across her arm and face "blerg" she said as she wiped the blood of her face the wind picked up and drew closer to Joltz it started to cut and slash away at her causing a few slashes to appear on her arm along with the bullet tear, Jumping back so she would get more damaged she shouted "Hey i was gonna kill those guys" and proceeded to fold her arms and pout like a child --------------------------------------------------------------------- -Wild Card- as Wild card was looking over the battle he got a message from his ear piece, getting into cover he activated it "Lutte vic what have you got?" he said, still across town watching from afar "Origami whirlwind on the field, should i take out?" Lutte Vic said looking in the scope at the paper whirl wind tearing up the Mice at the other side of the bridge Wild card looking over cover to see the whirl wind saw it slashing up Mice "i dont know, i think he's on our side... unless he's gone rouge, keep an eye on him if he gets closer warn me and ill go find out whos side hes on" Wild card said ending the call, Looking over the cover once more to see where Acchicleus was he need to ask weather or not we could trust the force

The boulder came towards Lilly and she sent one of the tendrils of water to smash into the water, surprised as she saw it slice through it, the boulder falling aside at her feet as one of the tendrils wrapped itself around Acchilleus' leg, suddenly bringing the man to the ground as he was dragged towards Lilly quickly. She was vicious in movement, allowing another tendril to form a sharp icicle that pointed down towards the man who came closer. Acchilleus, surprised and in pain, felt himself crash into the rock, as stone rose and broke the tendril's grasp, water now falling on the delicate snow as he got up, panting, rough and worn already as he looked at Lilly and grunted at the cuts and bruises he had gathered from such an assault. He felt the pillar slice itself through the middle, as the jagged end launched towards the woman. She used her icy tendril of water to form a defence, but the chunks of ice and stone simply smashed into her and threw her to the floor. Lilly, got up, hearing the sound of the ice beneath her as she realized she was careening closer towards the edge of the bridge. She got up, striking a beam of water against the man and watching him knocked to the ground as icicles suddenly came his way. One of them piercing his shoulder before Lilly jutted it out, as she saw he created another rock wall. She melted the icicles in mid-air before they slammed into it, mixing them as a body of water before she brought it around and slammed him back out from behind his deceased shelter. The pain was torturous and yet she was going to beat him all the same. Rocks and rocks formed from the bridge as Acchilleus stumbled up, glaring at the woman with gnarled teeth as he threw boulder after boulder at the woman. She could barely keep up, the pain from her injuries clearly getting to her as she stumbled around, smashed by rocks that her all her water and her ice could barely stop. He came closer, rounding on the woman as he rose a shard of jagged rock, panting as it rose near his hand and he smashed his hands down to stab her.She was stunned, Acchilleus standing right in front of her as she witnessed, the sharp rock about to pierce her flesh. She quickly watched water cover her, before she froze it, watching the jagged rock chip away at the armour of ice she had made before she glared up at the man, sending water embedded with shards of ice into his face. He groaned with pain as he stumbled to find himself on the edge of the bridge with her. Lilly melted the ice around her and created another tendril of water, sending it forward to tackle Acchilleus again.

~ Snowflake ~ “Never better.” She said sarcastically with a gritted grimace as she sat, trying to assess every ache in her body. Her right shoulder seemed to be in place but the crackling sound her ribcage had made when Reaver caught her, scared her. She didn’t want another episode like the Stadium Fight, collapsing and coughing blood because of a punctured lung- at least not when every breath burned like she was inhaling smoke into her lungs. “Some broken ribs and my right collar bone snapped, but the armour held. Do you know anything about human anatomy? With the intense tingling, burning and everything desperately itching to patch itself together, she wasted no time before starting to take off the protective suit she was wearing. This could be a bit awkward for Reaver, but Snowflake needed to act quickly; it would be even more painful to have her bones broken again and put back into place than make sure they healed evenly now. She took a pained breath and tried opening the jumpsuit held together by a button in the neck, then winced as it caused all the fractures and bruises to scream in pain simultaneously. Undoubtedly there were bruises in a multitude of colours on her shoulders and chest hiding under the white fabric of her jumpsuit, but the severity of the breaks was difficult to determine without being able to even look at them. “ Fuck. Help me off with this.”

~Dr Clueless~ putting in another tape and pressing play the tape started up the screen showed a younger Clueless in the same room as him but without all the tapes and storage stuff, "huh i must have been pretty young when i made this" Clueless said looking at the machine the TV Clueless started to talk "Hello Noble peace prize award Judges, I am Dr Vincent Que and for my entry i have made the..." TV Clueless wheeled the machine into the middle of the shot "Memory Mover!" he continued, putting the same helmet as the Real Clueless had on the TV Clueless started to explain how his device worked "now im sure all of you and many others have memories and dreams they would like to remember, but with this device i have made it possible to remove the memories and dreams from your head and put them on to storage unit so you can... well its up to you what you want to do with it" TV Clueless turned on the machine as it started to hum "now to do a live demonstration..." the Real Clueless started up the machine and was ready to follow the instructions on how to operate it "..once you have it all on this small screen will pop down and show you the memory you are going to be uploading for this i will be doing eh this tutorial.." Real Clueless's screen popped down and he thought back to the weird dream he had earlier once it was locked on he turned back to the screen, "now if your going to be doing this its best to leave your self a note so you know whats going on... okay there we go, now plug in your storage device and this is gonna hurt" the TV Clueless said sitting down in the chair "now ive inserted a Key word that allows the process to stop so that i dont store every single thing in my head onto this drive and that key word is 'Here' and that will stop the device from taking any more out of my head... so lets start this thing" the TV Clueless said as gritted his teeth and pressed the switch, stopping the tape Clueless looked and saw a few other switches on the machine labeled 'Emotions, feelings etc' ignoring them and leaving them as they are Clueless started the process and flipped the switch, the helmet started to spark for a moment and then it felt like a thousand claws where scratching away at his head ripping out the memory screaming in pain the machine started to work and started to load the memory into the hard drive after a few moments the room went dark leaving only a few of the lights on the machine to illuminate the room, it was done Clueless removed his bad dream and could no long recall the time he fell asleep on the bench in the safe zone all he could remember from that moment was him sitting on the bench, reading the plaque and looking around and nothing more

There a moments in everybody's lives where they're left reeling, their mind retreating in confusion and shock as they fall into speechlessness. For most, this comes in moments of grief, after unthinkable loss, or when fate itself seems to go out of it's way to shock them. For Reaver, this moment was now. In all honesty, the idea of Snow asking her to help her out of her clothes was not totally new to her, but the circumstances of such... Well, this wasn't that. Reaver's mind, a force of speed and efficiency, was able to recover somewhat before a second had passed, but whether Snow had noticed the great widening of the emerald eyes and her sudden intake of breath was a matter best not dwelled upon.
"Uh... Sure." She said, trying to shake herself back into what she hoped was her typical cool confidence. Her heart, not getting the memo, kept beating like it was showing a drum solo. Gently, she reached out and began to help Snow out of the armour, being careful not to brush the cool pale skin underneath. Where the fuck am I meant to look? The dominant thought in her head filled her mind as her eyes darted around, ranging from staring at the floor to peering over Snow's shoulder. The temptation to look at her companion was pretty powerful, however, and eventually her awkwardness gave way to curiosity. It wasn't a particularly good sight.
"Fuck Snow, that's... Ouch." She breathed softly as her gaze was met by a scene of ugly bruises and cracked bone. Reaver had some pretty firm medical knowledge stored back in her head, and it told her that this was not a healthy or comfortable state to be in.

>> THE HARVESTER << Orlando emerged at the back of the bridge, closer to the heart of the Viper army, well out of the heat of the combat in a place he could reassess his efforts. Naturally, however, a warzone permitted no such opportunity for the killer to catch his breath. His employer was struggling in combat with one of the women he had met when he first came to Heartania. He seemed he could at least hold his own, but so long as she continued her attack it was hard to tell just how long Acchilleus would keep standing. Unfortunately, Acchilleus had been forced to show his hand, a hand only prompted Orlando to spit the blood pooling beneath his tongue onto the pavement. His boss was a superhuman. Orlando scowled. I'd better be getting one hell of a payout for this.Even if he was technically working for one of his sworn enemies, Orlando still had a job to do, and Acchilleus could use an extra blade right now. Orlando drew a throwing knife, one of six he brought with him to the battle, and charged towards the water-slinger. >> SONAR << The ringing in his ears mixed with the exhaustion from accessing his powers' limits left Johnny well and truly winded. It was fortunate Aderyn showed up when she did, or else he'd have been stuck in a fight he had no way to carry out in this state. The red-clad assailant was locked in battle with his oldest friend, and Johnny sighed. He tried to sit up, but found the stinging complaint from his back wouldn't allow him even that luxury. The thick grey overcast, peppered with the black of rainclouds was about the only view he could take in right now. Johnny exhaled audibly, or at least what he considered audibly, and blinked slowly. "Sorry, Ade," he muttered to himself, not really in the state of mind to care if anyone heard his small voice, "You'll have to take this one alone. Wake me up when you need me, yeah?" He smiled weakly. "That was fun while it lasted..." His eyes drifted shut as Sonar's mind passed into unconsciousness.

Luke could see the rock and water thrown and clashing against one another from behind what was left of the line, the Vipers and everyone else getting ready to push through. He glanced at James, feeling the blood still slowly trickle down from his nose. Reality, as distorted as it was, seemed to be piecing itself back together, things becoming easier to comprehend as he saw Acchilleus continue their attack on his sister. Luke looked down at the katana gripped in his hand, tightening it.
Fuck it.
“I'm going out there,” said Luke and before he could even bother to hear James' protests, he rushed out, meeting the eyes of the Vipers still launching as he saw himself getting closer towards the edge of the bridge. He didn't need to turn back to understand that the footfalls behind him were James. He would feel regret for suddenly launching himself out there, if he wasn't so scared, witnessing Lilly's body of water tackling Acchilleus, sending him stumbling closer and closer towards the edge of the bridge. He wiped the rest of the blood from his nose, thankful that the bleeding had managed to stop for now, even if his head was still throbbing with pain. It was then and there when Luke witnessed the man, a name forgotten but a face that was recognized rushing towards Lilly. James readied his gun, the two of them viewing the spectacle from a rock wall formed in the fighting, until they got shot at once more and Luke didn't have to turn to know who this was. “Just go, I'll cover you!” ordered James as he shot at Rick, the man who was aiming at them with bloodlust. Luke found himself shoved forward as he rushed to help Lilly, turning back only to see James fire the third shot from the battle, and Rick was simply not giving up, only moving closer.
Shit.

SKYLARK Aderyn hadn't expected axes. Her eyes opened wide, as primal instinct kicked in. She applied the motion from her wings to drift back, manipulating the cold air around her to boost the effort. In doing so, the kick was allowed to enjoy its target, but that also worked to her advantage; propelling the winged hero back in just enough time for the hatchet blow to make a mere gash along one of her sides. The pain would have been allowed to ebb within her body, if Aderyn hadn't spotted Johnny on the floor, presumably out cold. She shot the assailant a deathly glare, not worrying about whether or not it frightened him: as she knew herself the sentiment was genuine. However, she couldn't make the crimson clad bastard regret his actions at that moment in time; she had to protect her friend. She flew toward him, grabbing his figure as she soared above. She was quickly becoming quite adept at carrying people into the skies with her. STARLASS Though he may not have thought he had done so, James had given Grace something she could work with. She dutifully nodded her appreciation, then turned away from him. Regardless of his usefulness, he was still a stranger. She activated direct comms with Compound. "You better hope to the highest heavens you're getting my family. If you are, I'll help you. If you aren't, then you will, and I'll still help you." NEMESIS Elizabeth paused to consider what Apollo had said. Though they had only known each other for a few hours, she had worried for the rookie vigilante from the moment he relaxed his aggression. She was not concerned for his safety (his prowess was clear from the moment they met), rather his sanity. She knew all too well what it was like to live with guilt and regret, so she wondered how fulfilling his crusade to rid the world of evil would be to him. Unfortunately, there was not much space for detailed musings on the matter within a chaotic melee. "Okay; we've identified a threat, now we just need an opening," as she spoke, she began to scan her surroundings. Nothing particularly worthwhile spotted her eye, "I'm not eager to jump into the eye of the storm, but that might be the only option, if we genuinely want to get our hands dirty here..." KINETIC WARDEN He watched as Ali tended to the wounds that she could immediately; her touch summoning an air of familiarity in the Warden's mind. Even her sharp assertion heralded an echo of a time that was confined to the history books, which comforted the veteran hero as much as it did unnerve him. He looked to Ali, his face was almost blank, and his voice gentle, "I got better, you know. I had to learn basic procedures myself, when you weren't there," though still soft, the Warden's following words were noticeably curt, "When I wasn't there." ESTEBAN VARGAS Esteban's suit had materialised itself around his much more built frame as Natalia's did so in tandem. He found it rather strange that she had suggested he lead the way, being much slower than his yellow counterpart. Still, he appreciated the idea of hermana staying beside him as they began their march to the Citadel.
