Alice Drake "I'm not going to be able to live without her." Oren groaned. "Surprisingly," Alice replied in a bland moan, her eyes still damp and sunken though expressionless. She looked around, to Oren; torn and wayward, who sat beside her but at a distance, to her brother - or what was left of him - and to the room around her. "Surprisingly, you find a way." Father, mother, sister, a brother-- now both brothers. She knew this better than he did. Alice watched Oren; the impish boy with a tongue like someone much older. He oftentimes packed bravado, a constant slew of insults and rude manners, but Alice knew that at least some part of him was nothing more than a lost child that was hurting, having lost who was most important to them. For the first time she looked upon him with sympathetic eyes, her steely gaze broken. Oren sat at a cautious distance from her, staring into the distance away from both of them; curled in a ball. Reluctantly - and with care - Alice finally made the decision to move; standing and idling in front of Oren where she squatted low and put her arms around him. "I'm so sorry." Emma Fitzgerald As something made a piercing wrap on her bedroom door, Emma jumped, startled and afraid. Keenly Emma listened for further sound as she moved out of the bed and clutched at the baseball bat that rested against the wardrobe, all while calming her breaths. Slowly, Emma slipped to the doorway where - with one hand tightly wrapped around the bat and the other on the brass doorknob - she quickly swung open the door and braced herself. "I'm sorry." the tiny voice chirped. Emma looked down and as she did she happened upon the snivelling child, seven years-old with a skinny frame, long legs and dark brown hair. She placed the bat on the ground immediately and dropped to her knees to care for him, "Edwa- I'm so sorry, don't cry. What is it?" With her hands supporting his elbows, able to feel the rough blue fabric of his worn out pajamas, Emma looked deeply into Edward - her son's gleaming, icy-blue eyes, not at all like her own hazel colour. "Mommy's here, what is it?" "I can't sleep," he pouted, breaking eye contact as he swayed both awkwardly and tiredly, "It's too early..." "I know hun, I'm sorry," she replied in a childlike but soothing tone, "Its just Mommy's been really stressed by all the stuff on the news." "What stuff?" "Nothing, just nasty men being nasty." "Ok," he bleated, rubbing his right eye. Edward was clearly tired, he just wasn't very happy. That's why he couldn't sleep. But honestly Emma couldn't blame him; the world was a scary place with scary people in it. "Mom?" Emma jumped again slightly, re-tethered to the real world again after her daydream. "Yes, well how you about we both go to the kitchen and get a nice hot cup of cocoa?" Emma smiled. Immediately Edward's eyes flashed open with awareness as he just managed a bounce or two. "Please, please please." While the boy rushed down the hallway to the kitchen, Emma smiled with pride, following him albeit at a less superhuman pace. She made herself chuckled with that one. Moments later and they both sat at the counter on breakfast stools with cream-lavished hot chocolate in mugs, Emma's own white mug with pictures of black cats contrasting the blue plastic mug Edward clung to. That was his favourite colour; blue, much to Emma's relief. "Mommy?" Edward inquired, easing his cup down as he re-established eye contact. "Yes, hun?" "Thanks, I love you." "I love you t-" A rhythmic, unfamiliar yet unassuming knock chapped away at the front door, cutting Emma's sentence off. "Ooh?" Emma let out a curious sound, luckily done with being shocked for the day. Approaching the door in nothing but her pink dressing gown and bunny slippers, Emma smiled when finding the mouthy but entertaining blonde girl in the peephole; Alex. "Who is it?" Edward called. "Shh." Unbolting the door, Emma eased it upon, greeting the woman before her with Edward gawping in the background. "Alex?" she laughed in a surprised tone, "Everything okay?"

Alex smiled when she saw Emma. Her eyes scanned Emma, wearing a pink dressing gown and bunny slippers, but her attention wasn't drawn to that, it was her face. She could see the stress in her face, making her look forty years of age. It was a face she had seen on her father and occasionally on her mother, stress always made a person looks twice their age. Her eyes drifted to the little kid in the background, he looked suprised to see her. A mess of dark brown hair, steely blue eyes, lanky limbs, he was kind of cute. A little tug on her heartstrings occured.
"Uhm, I came to check on you, I know that sounds weird but, I felt as if you needed a wee bit a company?" Another smile, warmer and more sincere.
----
Oren's eyes widened when he recieved the hug from Alice, "I'm sorry" she whispered. He started sobbing again. He wrapped his arms around Alice, bringing her close. He sniffed and heaved, "I'm so sorry," sniff "it was all my fault, I could have saved her but I failed, I was stupid and I failed." He cried.

Emma Fitzgerald Emma smiled as Alex spoke in her queer accent. "Of course," she sniffled, gesturing behind her to invite Alex in, "Care for a coffee? Hot cocoa?" Alex was right, Emma was tired. But she was up now, so she'd make the most of it. Behind her, Edward leaned over, still sat in his chair, to get a better look at the woman at the door. "You talk funny!" he blurted out in giddy laughter.
Alice Drake "None of that matters now." Alice comforted him, still holding him tight, "When you're dead you're dead. What matters is those left behind... and their memory." She looked over to Tommy's body, and then back to Oren.

- Dave, The Writer - (Apartment Complex, sometime before 6 PM) The man turned in his drug-induced slumber, being in too deep of a haze to hear a loud thud come from the floor of the apartment above his. What he dreamt of as the struggle over his head escalated is a mystery, but from the sweet smell of alcohol on his breath and untended stubble it would not be too presumptuous to assume he would be wanting another drink when he woke up; but only if you didn't know Dave. Dave hadn't had a drink in two years, so for him to drink in the early evening hours alone in his room would seem odd, even to the observant Miss Bellcrest who lived above him. Dave had been lucky to escape Jessica Paige's wrath the previous hours, but Miss Paige had been less fortunate in her goons's choice in how to subdue the man. He turned in his bed just as a second, louder thud followed by a shaken woman’s voice, urging the fight to stop before she suddenly screamed out in desperation. Lowered voices continued like indistinct muttering through the not-so-soundproof ceiling in his apartment, until they abruptly stopped. He didn’t hear the door to the condo above close quietly, just like he a while later wasn’t aware of the blaring sound of an ambulance and a police car stopping outside the skyscraper’s apartment complex. In fact, Dave would not know what had happened above his head while he slept until the next day. ~ Snowflake ~ Snowflake observed Reaver scaling the Citadel wall and deflecting the bullets with relative ease, and remained on the ground with the rest of the Vipers as they started pounding at the gate. With a glance over at their new leader who was itching to get inside, she looked up and felt the pouring rain soak her to the bone. Despite this, she didn’t feel cold in the slightest as she wanted to follow Reaver over the wall, but she was too weak to climb- and just then an idea entered into her head. She looked over at the Head Viper called out to him as she started to raise a pillar of ice from the ground. If she sent in one or two of the Vipers first, she wouldn’t have to be too concerned with fending off bullets. “Hey!” she called out as the surrounding area dropped in temperature, “Need a lift?”

Rick stepped back after launching himself into the gate in unison with the others yet again, he knew that whilst the gate would surely come down, there would have to be some other way in which he could help gain the advantage. He felt a cold wind blow beside him and glanced at the woman of ice, the one who had managed to raise the wall and in doing so probably save his life, turn to him. He only nodded before he felt like he was slowly being ejected into the cold air, an icy pillar forming under his feet which continued to rise despite the gunfire, sticking close to the wall and rising past those climbing it. It was when the pillar stopped and rumbled slightly that Rick glanced down, somewhat uneasy and filled with trepidation as he watched those on the wall continue to shoot at those climbing it.
He saw one glance up at him, ready to raise their gun and despite the pain he leapt staggering as he landed on the wall and punched the man who was about to open fire. Rick felt the brutal smack of their gun smashing into his chin as he fell back. Rick quickly tackled the man once again, smacking the gun out of their hand before he made use of his own gun strapped around him, the barrel of the AK pressed up under the chin of the man he was holding as a bodyshield, knowing that the others down in the courtyard or upon the wall itself would notice. He stepped forward cautiously trying his best to keep his eyes on both as his body continued to course with pain.

~ Snowflake ~ Just like Rick had risen to new heights earlier, Snowflake followed suit and escalated quickly past the ones scaling the wall. Unlike Rick’s landing Snowflake’s step off the pillar was more calculated and nimble, and a great moment to remember she was practically unarmed without her gun. Feeling the weight of Crimson’s broken Colts in each of her coat’s pockets, she swiftly pulled out a throwing knife she had placed in the inner pocket- and lashed out against the nearest gun-wielding mice she set her eyes on.
- Jade - Before Jade could run over, she was stopped by the sound of gunfire from the top of the walls- and the sight of two intruders fighting the people on guard. The woman was lashing at anyone and anything that stood in her way, while the man had taken one of the mice hostage. Jade stared up at them, then at the Broker tending to Jason and Shade, before her eyes glistened orange as she pulled out a soaked pack of cards. “THEY’RE INSIDE!” She shouted, and stepped closer towards as her fingers struggled to open the wet paper box containing her only means of defence. Jason and Shade had done their part, now it was time Jade did hers.

Rick took things calmer than he expected, he knew that this was all part of the inevitable plan and the only means to ever being able to get out of this alive. His eyes fell on the woman, cursing under his breath enough for the man pressed up against him to hear at the very least. He aimed at the others, trying his best to stop his temporary hostage from struggling, he felt like he didn't need to pull the trigger as he slowly made his way off the wall, slowly stepping down the stairs as he peered at those the police officers to the very man himself in the courtyard. Part of him felt like pulling the trigger upon seeing him, as a way to end this now, but at the same time, he knew that this war was over, and he wanted nothing to do with it by now.
“If anyone tries anything, I'll blow his brains out!” warned Rick as he stepped closer, and closer. He watched the woman who alerted the others fiddle with something in her hands. Rick stepped closer with the struggling hostage, aiming the gun at the woman who was now in front of him, and knew that he had a suitable hostage. “Drop it.” He continued to have the gun aimed at the woman, as he raised his eyes at the others, hoping that they weren't going to try anything. The world almost stood still, the rain producing any noise it seemed as the Vipers could be heard, still launching at the gate in an ordered fashion. Rick only hoped that sooner or later they would bring it down.

~ Snowflake ~ Snowflake lashed out with the knife, barely missing the man’s face, before she grabbed the arm of the guard and placed some slick ice under his feet. With a simple tug at his arm and tripping him so close to the wall, he flew head first over without any more effort than a last push.
- Jade - The pack of cards slipped out of Jade’s hands when the Viper aimed at her, both out of clumsiness and a moment of panic. He had rushed down the stairs much quicker than she had expected, and now she was caught in the crossfire. Today, nothing was going according to plan. With her eyes turning ever more orange by the minute, she stood stiff as she glanced towards the others- the police, Jason and Shade, and eventually, the Broker. If things didn’t calm down quickly, it would seemed like she was about to take another bullet because of him.

JONATHAN KRAMER Jonathan guarded the slumped body he brought in before he had the chance to absorb the new information. They were climbing the gate and coming over, the wall was doing them too many favours, he needed the turrets on the inside back on, but there wasn't a chance in hell that they would turn on before they all could be cut down. "EVERYONE INSIDE!" he commanded, hoping the bulkhead of Citadel proper would keep them off until the ice-wall that Snowflake made came down. He took two shots at the over-pouring mercenaries and vipers coming over, until the head Viper took a hostage, saying that he'll blow her brains out. He aimed his weapon at the man, but was hesitant to pull the trigger. He stared at the man, keeping his weapon level. "You sure you want to pull that trigger? You think you'll get a positive outcome out of this?" He hinted the wall. "That's going to come down at some point, and no doubt the entire country knows about what you've done. Mass graves of bodies, and now this. Tell me... Rick." The mice that was monitoring the situation at least gave a name, it was a behaviour that was hard to miss, head viper. "How do you think you'll get out of here if you pull that trigger?" There was loud boom on the other side of the gate, coming from the wall.
ANDRAS MORGAN Despite the feeble attempt to get the wall down previously, Andras kept whaling away at the sky-piercing structure. Every grunt chipped away a piece, until a small hole was produced. It was small, but it could be enough. "Claudia, you think we can get some explosives in this?" Claudia sighed. "We've used up all out explosives." "Think we could scavenge anything from the bodies? Grenades?" Claudia took a moment to think, but commanded that it would be done. The mice moved to get into position, as a few of them scavenged some grenades to slot them into the hole.
DR ADRIAN COOPERThe situation was fluctuating wildly, but he understood it all. The mice were being pushed back into the courtyard, the reinforcements with the Pursuer were sandwiching the middle in, and the bloodshed seems to have slowed to what it was before. Didn't mean victory was near. Reaver has assumed command of the field and the ice-wall was making it difficult to see. Thermals were making it difficult due the coldness of the ice, so he needed to act quick. "Structure integrity at 99.5%."Well, that's encouraging. Thought Cooper as he continued assessing the situation, heavily considering moving to try and get a more advantageous spot. He also considered taking down Dr Wolfram's new toy out of spite, but it wouldn't do him any favours. The Marshal needed Cooper, Cooper needed to co-operate with Wolfram, and Wolfram liked treating Cooper like a child too much. There was a hole in the wall, tiny but was filling up with explosives. "Success rate of detonation calculated at 0.1%." Cooper took a moment to think, he needed to act, for himself, and for Jade. He already lost his family and the one thing he was fighting for was in potential danger. On the other hand if Reaver found out then it wouldn't look good for both Marshal and Cooper, the former he couldn't give less of a care about. He took a deep breath before unloading the bullet, replacing it with an explosive round, then fired.
CLAUDIA KRAMER Claudia pulled the pin then ran back. "COVER YOURSELVES!" she cried out, with everyone hiding behind their own or someone else's riot shield. It took a few seconds before a mighty bang was heard. She looked over when the dust settled, and saw the structure still standing in all it's glory. Hole got a little bigger, but nothing substantial. It stood still as Claudia walked over to the side of the bridge, looking over as the rain continued to pour. She wasn't fast enough, and she lead people to their deaths for nothing. She sank inside her hands as she wished to die.
A giant thud caught Claudia by surprise, and she turned around to see the wall in a much different state. It was still standing, but now had a spiderweb of complex cracks that kept on growing. She stared at it, before telling everyone to grab a rifle. With all their might they fired, agitating and growing the cracks.

Reaver Reaver landed on the wall lightly, and instantly ducked as an arrow whistled overhead. The archer went to fire another arrow, clearly confident in her abilities, but Reaver was always going to be faster. Drawing a knife, she hurled it with pinpoint accuracy at the archer's face. In response, the assailant vanished from sight, prompting a curse from Reaver. A goddamn teleporter. Spinning around on reflex, she found herself facing a drawn bow and a satisfied smirk. The arrow never fired, however, as a sword flashed through the air and struck the bow in half in a single sweep. Nariko, finishing her own ascent, had made her attack. The archer had barely a moment of shock before she vanished once more, unlikely to return to the field. As the police were driven into submission by the Vipers and mercenaries, Reaver knew that the wall was theirs. The rest of the citadel awaited them. Time to take stock of the situation. There wall was falling, but the Broker's men were retreating into their fortress to buy themselves time. IF they got in there, there was little hope for a swift resolution, and this whole thing would become a large scale battle one again, one there was a fair chance they couldn't win given their weakened forces and reduced manpower. Having a wall between them and the reinforcements would help, but frankly, she knew this had to end fast. Luckily, that Viper leader seemed to have struck gold, stumbling upon the perfect hostage. He had a mice in his hands, but before him? The Broker's little girlfriend. It was so perfect she had to laugh. She broke into a sprint once again, hurling herself off the wall and using the grapple to slow her descent into a calculated swing. Sweeping across the field, she detached the hook at the apex of her flight. The mercanaries were firing down wildly into the courtyard behind her, following orders to storm the field, so there was little attention paid to her. The Ravager dropped to the earth in an arc, exactly where she wanted to fall. Reaver fell from above, straight towards Jade, with her blade ready. If this woman was captured, this fight would be over.

Rick glanced at the man speaking to him, still holding his gun and focusing on the man, it was only halfway through his speech that he instead glanced around once more to find the others retreating back into their protective abode. His finger was never on the trigger as he aimed it at the woman, nor the hostage in front of him. Rick noticed the others now climbing into the courtyard, the one wielding the sword suddenly appearing next to the woman, hopefully with the same mindset as Rick stepped back, still keeping his gun aimed towards the defenceless woman, whilst also keeping hold of his own body shield.
“Don't do anything and we won't have any reason to pull the trigger,” warned Rick as his grasp on his own hostage grew tighter, the more they started to struggle once again. Rick glanced at the woman, hopefully now with two hostages, they would have more leverage to get out of here. The Vipers continued to haul themselves at the gate, as Rick could hear the echoey cracks of ice from here. They were running out of time. “If you're gonna do something, I suggest you do it fast,” Rick hissed at the blade-wielding woman.

Alex followed behind, giving a smile to the young lad, who, as she got closer, had a lot of similarities with Emma - except the steely blue eyes. Her kid? She guessed to herself, but it wasn't always the best to make assumptions. "Yes, my accent is funny, isn't it? It's because I'm from Scotland, a very far away place." She replied to the young boy; he looked like he didn't mean any harm.
When she entered the kitchen she felt a little more comfortable, but, she had something else to do. "So, young man, what's your name? My name is Alex McMiller, pleased to meet you." She had reached over and placed her hand out for a shake. He was a cute kid, very innocent looking. Upon closer inspection, Alex could tell this kid was Emma's, without a doubt.

Oren didn't know how to respond, he was aware that it didn't matter, but it still mattered to him, he knew he could have saved Sienna if he didn't have a tantrum, if he wasn't so . . . possessive. Sienna was right; all Oren did was want to control her, he wanted her for himself. But, he didn't want her in a cruel way, all he wanted to do was protect her. Sienna was right about everything.
This realisation broke him, the heart strings he had left snapped. If only he had listened to her, if only he had listened to what she wanted, if only he tried to understand. He sobbed, "I'm an idiot." Oren wailed, muffled by his tears.

- Jade - Too many things happened at once. With the gun pointed at her face and the Broker already negotiating for the hostage’s life, Jade was too distracted to see Reaver pouncing at her from the wall and stood still as the situation to a turn for the worse. As Reaver landed she was not only just in the crossfire, but literally standing at a knife’s edge before she could react fast enough to even turn invisible.

JONATHAN KRAMER There was a sudden movement and Jonathan acted, though didn't fully commit. He turned his weapon towards the direction of Jade, now within close proximity of the woman he so desperately wanted to kill. Funny, the woman he wanted to stay beside and the woman he wanted gone, within the flick of a trigger. His breathing slowed, the whole thing became something that nummed him completely, a haze, grey, colourless, everything that took the beauty out of his eyes was done, only the sound of his breathing remained. He heard the clock of what was to the left of him, several members on his side were running in, with the turrets emerging from the walls, now needed and seemed to begin aiming at Reaver and Rick, but not firing. It's the safeguard isn't it? Yes, must be.He turned back to the two, first Reaver, then Rick, then back to Reaver. "Don't do anything stupid," he calmly said, clearly tired. Shouting at them wouldn't work, he tried that, why bother?

Reaver "Everyone shut the fuck up!" Reaver bellowed over the sound of the fighting, and at once the Marauder's quietened their weapons. The fight on the wall had come to a close anyway, and there were few enough people, left trying to fight. It would all come down to this last negotiation. Between Reaver, and the rat. She turned to face him with a smile so cold Snowflake would freeze under it. "Hello, Jon. Lovely to see you again. I think we should talk, don't you agree?" She maintained her smile, suddenly feeling very powerful. Despite all his planning, his men, his damn castle, Reaver was still the one who ruled this situation. All eyes on her. "So this lovely young woman informed me that you and her were in love! I know, sickening isn't it? Now, putting her foul taste aside for a moment, I'm going to take that as a fact that you value her. Quite a lot, yes?" Although Reaver held the smile, she was almost guffawing with laughter inside. It has hard to keep her composure given this moment's hilarity. "So, now I have her in reach of my sword, lets chat. First though, be a dear and get those turrets away from me? They make me very nervous you see. I might... Slip."
