CLAUDIA KRAMER She kept hold of the hand, didn't make eye contact with the sister but maintained her view on the man whose key contribution saved us all. "We all owe a great deal of debt to Jason, I owe him a great deal," she said softly. "So whatever you want or need, say the words, no strings."

Ripley tried to break his whip free of the ice, sucking in the air, he screamed at the ice, shattering it. But, by the time he released his whip, his entire wing frozen over. Shit. He landed onto the floor, taking back his wings. Ripley didn't notice the puddle of water he was standing in. Ripley threw back his whip and went in for another attack.

Argent Mind Having liberated a walking stick from the medical wing to make his journey easier, Argent Mind was able to swiftly make the distance to the balcony where the Warden had arrived. As he hobbled his way, he caught a glimpse of Starlass, critically wounded, being moved with care to surgery. Worry gripped him for her safety and condition, but he knew his people were the very best, recruited from among the most talented and selfless individuals the city had ever produced. If Starlass had a chance of survival, it would be found with them. He left them to their work, knowing he would only get in the way now. He now regretted not taking a part in the battle, of course, and he needed to know what had happened down there from a source he knew would never hide any unfortunate details. Taking the lift to the top floor of the Tower, Argent Mind spotted Clyde on the balcony. A few doctors and medics were doing their best to bandage his injuries and patch him up, although Argent couldn't see from where he was what the extent of the wounds might be. He held up a hand in greeting, limping over with his other hand gripping his walking stick to keep him balanced. "Warden... What happened out there?" He asked as he got closer, before making his concerns clear. "Are you badly injured? Did you all make it out alright?" Reaver "Fucking piece of shit!" Reaver spat, looking in disgust at the offending motorbike that now sat by the side of the road, now lacking its front wheel. Apparently it had suffered some damage in the crossfire of the battle, and as poor chance would have it, this resulted in it losing a wheel several kilometers out from home. Nariko's vehicles had already spread out and moved on, retreating to whatever bases they were using to keep cover, and the Ravagers were seemingly spread far and wide. Cursing the Broker's shitty mechanics, and their shoddy vehicles, she resigned herself to walking, muttering empty threats and frustrated swearwords as she went.

~ Snowflake ~ Snowflake's arm was barely grazed by Ripley's whip, if she had only worn her normal suit it would have stung like hell. She didn't mind it, as her eyes had seen a new opportunity arise. She glanced at the water Ripley had landed in and grinned maliciously; taking a step forwards she glared at the little pond and raised her hand ever so slightly. In a matter of seconds several needles shot up from the ground around him, with the goal of trapping or, even better, literally pinning him to the spot.

CLYDE ERWIN | KINETIC WARDEN Heartania | The Tower 1st December 2063 | 06:46PM The remaining medics had begun to fuss over the his lingering wounds, which irritated him greatly. As Argent Mind approached, walking stick in hand, he shooed them away, relatively healthy after Ali had seen to his wounds an hour or two ago. Though his was physically weakened, the Warden was impressed to see his old ally looking relatively strong spirited, which was almost definitely on account of his brother's miraculous return. He still spoke with a modest tone, however, and in this scenario it included an element of concern, which was to be expected. He decided to continue this continuity by responding with his own, blunt word, "A lot of people died. We suffered a few losses ourselves, but I expect the brunt of it was taken on either side of the battle, with civilians caught in the middle," he paused, to look out at the city; toward the wreckage near the Citadel, "it's over. It appears the Citadel held, but I would not call it a victory for either side. We'll all learn more tomorrow, when things are calm. For now, go rest, Argent, be with your brother. I need some time alone anyway."

The spikes went through his arms and legs. Ripley originally didn't feel it, the adrenalin from wanting to save his friend pumped through his veins, making the pain non-existent. When he looked down, his flight instinct took effect, 'Run. Get help. Blood. Lots of it. Ambulance.' . That was when the adrenalin dulled slightly, a deep throbbing pain in his arms and legs. Ripley couldn't move, any attempt to move caused his arms to burn with pain.
Fear. An unsurpassable amount of fear arose in the back of Ripley's mind, his body wanting to run, but he was trapped like a rat in a corner. Blood was soaking the ice. The ice had gone dark crimson. Ripley tried to scream, but he couldn't. Ripley had failed, he failed, and he was about to die. He didn't want to die. In his mind he was screaming.

Emma & Edward Fitzgerald "Oh, some hot chocolate sounds nice; I'll have that please." Emma nodded in affirmation, adding the still-boiling milk from a jug to the mug and scooping in three heaped teaspoons of cocoa powder. "Wow, cool!" Ed remarked at the mention of the Scottish hero; Dragon, "I wish we had dragons here. Nice ones." "There's a lot of people like Dragon in my homeland, there's a lass who names herself Unicorn. There're some baddies as well, such as The Hag, a nasty old witch she was. Ahh, it would be nice to have powers like them, wouldn't it? Powers tae help people." Edward's smile dropped as he hung his head, "Yeah..." he said, saddened by something. He looked back up to Alex, cheering himself up slightly, "My mom says my dad used to help people."

Felix barely managed to move, so it took a little while for him to sit up properly with the one thought of stopping Snowflake and Ripley fighting. He had told him not to follow them, but now it was too late for him to tell him to run. The horrific sight of a blood spilling forth from sharp icicles standing up from the ground was a sight Felix would never forget. His heart sunk in his chest as he watched his sister lower her hand and turn back towards the vehicle he was sat in. With a relieved smirk she started walking back, while Felix was in too much of a shock to take his eyes off the frozen cage which might have killed his best and only friend. Snowflake got back into the car and started the engine, hardly giving Felix a second glance before she started driving back towards the hideout. Felix’ hands grasped the frame of the car’s broken window as he kept eye contact with the small ice pillar for as long as he could, until it finally disappeared from his sight. With no strength left in his body, he collapsed, holding back tears as he thought back to the moment Lorraine called the Broker a monster. If he was evil, then what the fuck was his family?
IT’S A NEW DAWN, IT’S A NEW DAY, IT’S A NEW LI-IFE! (And I fe-el goooood~)

(Summa summarum; he died, she died, everybody died.)The Battle Of The Five Armies Citadel Bridge The battle on the bridge to the Citadel last night ended in a bloodbath on both sides. Both the Citadel’s allies and Acchilleus’ supporters are either gravely wounded or dead after last night’s fight. We are waiting for a status report from the Citadel’s residents as the High Chancellor is nowhere to be seen and the rumours of Acchilleus Libertas plunging to his death is spreading from the remaining victors. Monster Rampages Heartania A genetically mutated monster rampaged the streets in the centrum of Heartania at the same time the Citadel bridge fight took place. This was, luckily, quickly resolved by heroes who ran to the scene and helped assist in taking down the mutant. We will go deeper into these and other news later, but first- the weather.”

GRACE SCOTT | STARLASS Heartania | The Tower 2nd December 2063 | 06:02AM "Grace Scott. You are powerful, I'll admit that much. But I was built to be more so."
She saw it again, standing over her. Seemingly twelve feet tall, the android had managed to neutralise and counter every one of her attacks, and then throw a more devastating one in return. The final blow it delivered had repeated itself in Grace's mind time and time again since her losing consciousness. A bitter acknowledgement of the defeat she faced. Despite this, there were good visions too: those of her allies, and those few she had called her friends. She recalled that day back in October, when she and Argent Mind had first set out on a series of events that spiralled to where they both were now. She remembered La Mirage: the woman she would have tried to apprehend, if she hadn't second guessed herself. It was one of her best decisions in the last few months. She focused on the Knight, that wisecracking superhero with a touch of the English accent in his voice. It was an endearing feature that hadn't lost its potency over the following weeks and months. And it wasn't long before that she began to ponder on all those she had managed to save, most notably her parents. They were likely away in Capital City now, and she was sure that no harm would come to them, and they needn't be worried anymore. These lingering thoughts pushed her broken body to jolt with remarkable vigour, as her eyes snapped open immediately. The sudden intake of light was irritating, and even the slightest movement would spark aches across her body, but it didn't matter: she was alive. She looked around to take in an environment she knew all too well. Take the girl from the Tower, but you can't take the Tower from the girl. She slowly rose up in her hospital bed, grunting with pain as she did so. Much to her relief, however, she did not have to grab the attention of a nearby medic. She seemed to notice her the moment she rose up, and hurriedly sprung into action, rushing to her bedside. The sight of it made Grace smirk, she still had a reputation. "I'm guessing I have you to thank for keeping me breathing? I promise I'll pay you back however I can, but first can you ask for Argent Mind? I think he and I have some catching up to do." As soon as she asked with her classic heroic politeness, the medic nodded, and then rushed out of the ward. It would be a few minutes before anyone would return, which gave her time to think about her future. After all, though she didn't die that evening, she didn't find success either. There was work to be done.

L screamed. She awoke to the empty bedroom absolutely terrified her limbs shook rumpling the bed sheets until she felt like she was drowning in cotton. She surfaced ripping and tearing at the sheets with panicked fingers before flicking on a light and them huddling into herself.
"Kay.." She called the voice softly into the dawn, wanting the protection of them. They hadn't returned the evening before with her friends around. So here she sat shivering hoping they would hear her, too afraid to move and too afraid to be alone.
--
Ali was exhausted. She had been bundled up in a tower vehicle maybe half an hour ago, finally relieving herself of the clear up now that it was mainly over. She could still see all those unseeing faces. It made her feel like her bones were too big for her skin, ready to jump out and join them in the piles they had made. So many body bags, she wondered if there were more than those they had managed to get to hospital in time. Probably the answer was yes.
She wanted a shower, sleep and food. But had no clue where to get it. She had arrived in the city only a day ago with her backpack and had nowhere to go. So for now she just sat on the roadside a little distance from the carnage nursing a hot drink she had managed to get off a nice support worker who kept eyeing her with worry.

Haley finally let out the yawn she had been suppressing as the six o clock news sound bite hit the air. The anchor was all done up with make up that looked so weird when viewed away from the stage lights and looking rather bored as the title music obscured them from view.
"Haley go get the guest schedule from Donna." The assistant director snapped giving them a glare for yawning. Hey he hadn't been up all night after having to evacuate from his house she was sure. Her clothes were yesterdays and she felt a little self conscious in them especially as she had not been home the night before that to change either.
Still it wasn't the first time and fulfilling the AD's needs were like a refreshing breakfast treat, so Haley gave a small apologetic nod before running quietly down the corridor trying to avoid bumping into people.

Wild card asked as he looked in the same direction as her, she didnt answer she just waited for the pick up as long as she got back to the casino soon she would be a lot happier

Ajay had been cleaning up on the bridge since the battle had ended. Everyone out there had been cleaning up for a long time, and the bridge was almost done. Only a few more bodies, and some blood to clean up. It had been a bloody job, but Ajay had stopped caring about the blood after about an hour. He decided to take a break upon seeing that the sun was rising, and walked back towards the camp that had been set up the day before.

The both of them sat there in their own empty space of silence. Luke found himself stirring from his slumber, half expecting to see Lilly at his side, and yet, all the same, he wasn't surprised to only come to terms with an almost empty room. The sounds of both the heart monitors for him and James were beeping meticulously in the background. Their sounds drowned out and became blurred once again, or at the very least one of them did. A glance at James made him see James' bandaged hand still had burn scars, but that didn't come close to the wounds they both sustained after the horrific bloodbath. The pain continue to coarse through him, he was starving, thirsty, but more importantly, he felt alone. He wanted to feel sad, he knew, he heard, saw, and felt everything fall apart around him, and lost almost everything in the process, even his powers, or at least most of them. But truthfully, he felt nothing more than a numbness overwhelm him. He didn't know if he was blocking it out, adding that to the background, but as he glanced once more at James who laid there, limp and almost lifeless if it wasn't for the reassuring sound of the heart monitor, only two things were on his mind; the well-being of himself and the well-being of James. Having to watch James having to murder his own father like that was almost as sickening as finding out he was the father in the first place. So many tragedies occurred he didn't know which was worst. He tried his best not to think about them at all, and ultimately, like most of the endeavours in his mind since the battle, he failed.
It was then the somewhat sudden and gasping breaths of James that shook his senses, hearing the beeps of the heart monitor hurry at a quickening pace before returning back to normal or at least as close as they could as James was seen panting, sweat developing on his brow. Luke wondered if it was one of the many side effects James had told him about, a fever. But then again, he couldn't even pretend to know how many shots were fired when James killed...Luke's thoughts trailed away as he saw James glancing up at him, he couldn't tell if he was thankful or terrified, it was probably both. James looked away, he seemed fine, or as “fine” as one could be after the storm of bullets and blood they faced, but his heart monitor never slowed down.
“James, talk to me,” said Luke, his voice much weaker than he thought it would be. James didn't say anything and Luke couldn't blame him. He instead glanced at his own side table, only now noticing the fruit and water that had been left for him, one glance told him the same too was on James' table. He didn't eat or drink any of it, not yet, instead, he sighed. “Look, it's okay if you don't want to talk about it, what happened was...” His thoughts trailed off once again. He felt like he was saying the same thing to himself. James didn't seem to pay any mind to him, though Luke swore he saw him look away when he went over to glance at him. Luke resided to simply focusing on eating the slices of apple left on a plate for him, and so both he and James simply returned back to their empty spaces of silence.

NATASHA MCCALL The night was slow, and the sun was no where near rising as the solstice got closer. The water was black with barely any light, and hanging her legs over the edge of the helipad sat Natasha McCall, holding a drip beside her. She breathed heavily as the recovery process sped up, still leaving her with a headache, and a deep sense of sorrow.
BENEDICT STRAHM "Ben...Ben!" Water poured on the sleeping man as he laid by his desk, television on and dressed in the most ridiculous manner possible. "Gah!" he exhaled, as he wiped the liquid from him and saw a member of the late night bar staff standing over him. He was exhausted, and a smile wasn't in sight. "Have you closed everything up?" "Yes." He took some time to think. "Who won? The Citadel bridge, who won?" "It seemed like the government won sir." Benedict leaned back and breathed a sigh of relief. "And the High Chancellor?"
CLAUDIA KRAMER She was empty, just the sight of the man lying down in the bed after a night of desperation. No motion, just a thin smile on his face, almost like he had some comfort as he was drowning in his own blood, and she wouldn't blame anyone. His arm was gone, amputated due to the severe damage he sustained to it, and bandaged as they had little to work with. She kept her eyes on him, checking him, and checking the silent environment around them. But after a while she couldn't hold it in anymore. She screamed in complete desperation, as she saw for herself that Jonathan was gone. Jonathan had left her and everyone behind, and it was a weight that laid heavily on her shoulders.

Kate It was a cold morning, although Kate barely felt the chill as she stood on the Citadel walls, looking out into the sea. Someone had wrapped her in a coat, and had given her cocoa, which she now cradled in her hands and held close to her, almost forgotten. She blinked only occasionally, starring blankly with pink, worn eyes as her mind struggled with it all. She hadn't slept, she hadn't been able to. The kids had cried, of course, and she had been strong for them, like he would have been for her. Like he had been for her. When their mother died, he had sat with her all night, keeping them all comfortable despite his own pain, putting them first. Those were the shoes she was having to fill, a man who cared so much that he didn't worry about himself. She couldn't believe he was gone. She had grown up on grief. Before their mother died, of cancer of all things, she had been to the funerals of four brothers. Jack, Luke and Alex had died in gang violence, shot in the streets. Simon died from an overdose. They had all hurt, of course, and she missed them all dearly. This was worse. Jason didn't die because of mistakes he made, he died for other people, his family first. And Jon Kramer too, wherever he was, but she couldn't think about that. If she blamed him for Jason's death, she'd end up being someone her brother would've have hated. Jason trusted Kramer, and had fought for him. And had died for him. That thought wouldn't go away, despite how much she tried to ignore it. In frustration at the world, she kicked out at the concrete battlement before her, not caring if it would hurt or not, although all logic said it would. It left a dent instead. Argent Mind Argent Mind rose early, as he always did, and was standing in the control room with a cup of coffee, watching the report of the battle given by his staff at the scene. It was a mess, and a lot of people had died for the ambitions of two men. Jonathan Kramer and Acchileus Libertas had made the city a warzone for their own goals, and in the end, all they had earned was death. If the High Chancellor hoped to hold power after this, Argent Mind knew he would stand against him. That man, the Broker, seemed as much a monster as the insurgent he had barely overcome. He'd face justice, one way or another. "Sir?" A young voice called out for him, and he turned to see one of the early-shift staff looking over at him from their terminal at the wall. "A call from the medical wing, sir. Starlass has woken up, and is asking for you." Argent Mind was impressed. Having her conscious and speaking so swiftly after her arrival was a real testament to the skill of his physicians, and right now he was extremely grateful for their work. "Thank you, Jackson. Let them know I'm on my way." Argent Mind liked using the staff's names when he spoke to them, it gave the place a family feel. Many of them thought he may have memorized them all, or perhaps was reading their mind. In truth, he had just gotten rather good at picking out nametags. He set off at good speed, only with a slight limp now as the work Dr Elliot had done came to fruition. Despite the bad news of the battle, he was in surprisingly good spirits. Rhys was here, and Starlass was safe. It was looking up! Poking his head through the door to the private room Starlass had been given in the medical wing, he put on a smile to avoid showing fear for her wounds. She looked bad, worn down and damaged, but not dead. It seemed that, like Rhys, she was returning after a longer ordeal than anyone had considered. "Starlass..." He said, almost at a loss for words, before regaining his composure "H- How are you this morning? It's good to have you back with us, although obviously the circumstances leave much to be desired!"
