Some courage sparked in Inferno, shaking she stood up. That courage grew brighter and bigger in Inferno as she looked at Snowflake, "Let's get him then." Inferno sounded courageous, but inside she was shaking like a leaf. Hesitantly she exited the base, slowly making her way to where Damian had stopped her in the street, but halfway there he was there, walking hand in hand with . . . her. Tears flooded Inferno's eyes, her mind shattering, all her feeling pouring forward. The young girl shared many traits with Inferno; the curly red hair and the eyes. It had been many years since they had both seen each other, and the young girl of thirteen couldn't hold in the excitement. "Mother!" Yelled the little girl, a smile on her face as she let go of her father's hand and threw herself towards.
"Mother," The young lady cried, wrapping her arms tighter around her mother's waist. With a shaky hand she reached up and stroked her daughter's hair, "Lucy..." She whispered, her mind fractured and pain pouring from it.

-Wild card- Two men came in what looked like doctors coats and took Ms Diamond from him and took her down stairs, Wild card watched as she was taken to get fixed up there was a tap on his shoulder not turning there was nervous voice that followed "erm... Sir do you have time to.. d.. discus the event for tonight?" turning around and looking down at the man as he held a clip board, "No sorry... not now, I need to find out somethings with my head of employment" Wild card said as he walked past the man with the clip board "don’t worry I’ll be back to discuss further" he continued as he went to the back of the casino, walking through a few doors that were labelled 'staff only' he stopped at a metal door and held on to the handle looking down and closing his eyes he said to himself "it’s not as bad as you think, if at least half made it out we can still hold our ground", taking a deep breath in and breathing out he opened his eyes and turned the handle a few moments passed and Wild card opened the door hoping to see at least half of his forces still alive, his eyes widened and his smile quickly faded looking into the room there was only ten of his henchmen in the room most of which were lying on sheets and tables covered in blooded bandages and slings, walking over to Mr Club who was talking to the doctor he said "is this it, please tell me this isn’t it" Mr Club turned around "I’m sorry this is it" he said with deep sorrow in his voice

~ Snowflake ~ Snowflake, too, rose from the floor, and decided to follow Inferno- after leaving a message on Reaver’s comms when she couldn’t get through to her: ’Ree, Inferno and I’m going to take care of.. err, her husband. If we’re not back soon come look for us, we’re not too far away- though I thinks it will be settled quickly.’She kept a small distance, walking slowly a few metres behind Inferno until they were met by a man holding hands with a younger version of Inferno?!Snowflake kept walking, giving Inferno a subtle nod before she suddenly walked up between the man and Inferno hugging who Snow would assume was her child for now. She stopped, standing just so Inferno would be able to look past her and at who she assumed was Damian, and gave him a cold stare. From the way Inferno was about to break down, it was probably for the best to be blunt and get this over with. “What do you want?”

Luke sighed as he heard the door close behind him, he couldn't seem to focus and the pain it took to even walk was bad enough, he almost felt like collapsing if he wasn't trying his best to be slow and steady. No matter what he told himself, he felt weak, even the small victory that they seemed to gain from the battle seemed to barely be worth it when he partly wanted to leave the city behind, for good. But he couldn't he knew that he didn't sacrifice this much to be the person he wanted to be, he just still wished that didn't mean losing Lilly, or Ezekiel, Sarah, David, Custos, his parents...But he shouldn't and couldn't think about that right now, he didn't know what James had been through, what he was suffering through right now.
Part of him found it odd, he had only known the man for two months, and yet pondering on all the people close to him, there didn't seem to be no-one. It may not have dawned on Luke at first, not when he was down there his bleeding skin against the harsh winds, but he had no family left. His parents were gone, he had no clue about any extended family, and for the most part James didn't mention any brothers or sisters of his own. Were they both alone? Maybe, he pondered as he continued his struggle to walk down the hallways, maybe he didn't deserve happiness. Maybe his role was to just be the hero, and that was it. He thought about this throughout the waking hours his body refused to let him rest, and he concluded then and there that this was a lie. One way or another he was going to come back from this, he wouldn't give up like last time and spend his days wanting to jump off rooftops.
As for James, he didn't know what to do. All Luke knew now was to just focus on himself, focus on them. He had passed televisions which uttered the same speech, his fist clenched at the news that Jonathan Kramer was dead. He didn't know whether to be respectful, saddened, happy, all he knew now was that they kept Acchilleus away at the highest price, nobody else knew about what happened down on the ice it seemed. Luke grimaced from the pain, clutching at his ribs, he hoped he wasn't going to reopen his wounds, he needed to focus, needed to be calm as he continued walking, finally arriving at his destination; Lilly's room.

- Jade Blythe -
Jade sat on the edge of the bed she’d moved across half the room to block the door, watching the sky turn lighter blue as the sun rose slowly to drain the dark night from its calming colour. On her lap lay her purple top hat, which she caressed gently while she stared blankly out on the open sea. She could hear police sirens closing in from a distance, until they all simultaneously stopped. The sirens hadn't stopped wailing, but a moment of clarity that stopped the noise from entering Jade’s head. She had only herself to blame for the situation she was in right now, and no matter what happened next she was still trapped. If the police searched her things, they would find over a dozen files connected to Scarlett Blythe; ergo, she had conspired with the Broker to illegally gain insight on police investigation. There was also her golden mask, the purple top hat and her costume which tied her directly to being La Mirage, a thief who’d slipped away with more valuables than any average man would expect to get paid in their lifetime. What would be the sentence? Would she be locked up, thrown in jail along with super-powered murderers, frauds and villains? What would her father say? After he and her mother broke up, Jade was all he had left. How would she ever be able to face him again after this? And would she ever be able to see the sun rise like this over Heartania again? With Jonathan Kramer gone, there was no way Claudia would be able to protect her. If Jade was thrown into jail; if Jessica Paige, like her brother, held any political influence whatsoever, Jade was doomed. No matter what she said, there was no point in talking to a mad woman who refused to listen to the truth. She would probably say it was easier to blame the dead. Slowly, Jade stood up from the bed, knowing all too well that whatever happened, she was going to be trapped again- only this time, she wasn’t under the protective wing of a man she had pretended to love. This time, it would be sheer terror every single day until eventually.. ’I can’t do this. Not again.’With a shaking hand she opened her bedroom window, taking in the biting sea breeze as she looked out at the open sea. Still holding her top hat in one hand she shuddered and looked back at the cell phone lying on her bed, hopeful that her last text with four words to her father would be enough for him to forgive her of all her secrets, lies and the shame he would have to bear. ’I love you, dad.’She took a deep breath and placed one foot on the windowsill and one hand to clutch at its frame, until at last she hoisted herself up- and closed her eyes. ’It’s now or never.’

- HUNTER -
Luke entered the room, having taken the key before they left the icy domain he felt like he was stepping into in the first time. All the signs of Lilly were there, her neat ordered wardrobe, all the necessities she would ever need in plain sight, and next to her bed, a box of oddities that she kept tucked away. Photographs, mementos, even the odd chip that she seemed to be silent about and wouldn't even let Luke or James so much as glance in its direction. He smiled, a weak smile, but a smile nonetheless as he tried to blink the tears away, he promised himself he would focus before he grieved anymore, but that didn't help much if any. Luke sat down on the bed, taking a minute to just breath, forget about the world for just a second. Lilly was always his guide, someone he looked up to, what would she do now? It was weird, now that Luke thought about it, he couldn't remember Lilly ever being in a serious relationship. He almost laughed at himself for thinking about it. He would have to think later he supposed, as he heard odd muttering and fast paced walking through the corridor outside, his grip on the box tightened he only hoped that someone else hadn't died. Luke got up, but as he felt something bounce against his thigh, he glanced down and was surprised he almost forgot; his sword. The box of mementos fell next to it on the bed, as his fingers slowly grasped the sheathed sword, pulling it out, it made an odd sword as if he suddenly expected lightning to burst out and shock him, a cyan blue glow on the outer edge that seemed to pulse with energy, it felt warm to touch on its very edge. He sheathed the katana, placing it on the bed as he opened the doors to the balcony, feeling the cold air of the sea brush against his face. As he glanced down at the rocks and waters, he felt himself take off the quiver, pushing the button to form the bow as he glanced at the objects.
Luke considered it one last time, and dropped them both, watching them plunge into the sea and barely hear his bow clash with the rocks. A sense of regret almost overtook him, but a sense of relief did too, two polarizing feelings as he shut the door and went back inside. He still had her dagger at his side, his pistol too, and now as he felt the adjustable strap graze over his torso, he had something new, a sword, and as cliché, as it was, he wanted to name it Lilly, something to remember her by. The box was clutched under his weak arms but he still held on desperately, with one hand he managed to hold it tight enough to his body, the contents clinking away as he walked, and closed the door for the behind him for the last time.As Luke ventured forward, back to James' room, he couldn't help but think over the times he begged for life, not for himself, but for others. When he thought Lilly died, when he even thought Kay had died, the same for Custos, the same for everybody, it was that same line.'Don't be dead. Please? If there is one thing you could do left. Just please don't be dead.'
Now, if he wasn't so focused on trying to simply walk with stifling every grunt of pain, he would try to see the lighter side of that, he had heard that bargaining was another form of grief, but if so it seemingly worked for the two people in his life who came back from the dead. But bargaining wasn't essentially something that would work right now, he told himself. He smiled as he opened the door, stumbling slightly before he made it to his own bed and put the box down, eyeing James and stepping closer. “Are you feeling okay?” asked Luke, James simply nodded. “Okay, just tell me if you need anything in response.” The two gave weak smiles at each other before Luke turned to sort through the mementos, hear he felt like he could allow James to freely hear how painful it was just to be moving constantly, feeling like he wouldn't burden James or have him seen as weak by him of all people, it would almost be liberating, if it wasn't so painful and annoying. “I think I should go visit home, back to Scarlet City,” James spoke in a quiet voice, Luke sensed the inklings of guilt upon his face.“Alone?” questioned Luke. James nodded. “If you think that's best, then I won't stop you, maybe it would be good to spend some time alone, and clear your head. Do you know when you'd be coming back?” “No, I...I don't know,” admitted James, Luke felt somewhat hurt in the process but didn't show it, he had a feeling now that James truthfully didn't know and probably was scared that Luke would think he was leaving him, at least he hoped he wasn't. Luke simply nodded.“I think that's a good idea,” replied Luke, happier to see the relief on James' face and the first genuine smile of the day. “What about you? You should get back in bed or at least check into a hospital, you can't keep walking around like this,” advised James, smirking a little. “I'm no doctor, but you look like shit.” And there was that famous James wit, back once again. He could see how hard James was trying, how hard it must have been to try and joke around, try and lighten the mood, when it was clear that he was hurting, that they both were. Luke smirked anyway.“Don't worry, I'll check into a hospital, maybe you should too, for now, I mean it's probably best we don't stay here,” said Luke, sitting back on his bed. It felt like a weight was quite literally lifted off his shoulders as he was able to just take a breather, feeling some of the pain starting to melt away from his body. “I guess we should probably speak to Claudia about it or something.” James looked concerned.“How is it out there?” questioned James, shuffling a little. Luke gulped a little.“It's been...better. I think people are starting to...err...come to terms with the whole thing,” started Luke.“Luke,” said James. Luke turned to look at him.“Yeah?” replied Luke.“Has anyone told you, you're a really bad liar?” James was smiling, but only barely, Luke could sense a serious urgency behind his voice as he tried to play it off.“You'd be surprised,” Luke joked before his smile became a frown. “It's horrible out there, just people rushing around, sad, stressed out, I don't want to imagine it.” James nodded, staying silent. “I'll err, I'll go find Claudia now.” James nodded once again, slumping away as he saw Luke, with effort, slowly get up and begin heading towards the door.“Luke,” started James. Luke turned around. “I'm sorry, for everything. When I saw you and Lilly fall, I thought the both of you...” Luke didn't say anything in response, the two of them locked back into silence. “I- Thanks, I'm okay...trust me,” lied Luke. He took out his own Lotus, “Just call me if you need anything.” And with that Luke departed, he couldn't tell if he felt better or worse, the only thing he did know was that he was glad that James was talking, that James was thinking of ways to better take care of himself and Scarlet City, as dangerous and decrepit as it sounded, was his home, it was more likely the best place for him. Luke partly wished that he could come with him, but he knew the importance of being alone, of being there to clear your own head, but as he stepped closer to the main entrance, his heart skipped a beat as he saw police officers inside. His eyes narrowed as he wondered why they were here, and he soon got his answer as he spotted a police officer, speaking to what he could assume to be one of Broker's workers. “Sorry ma'am, we're keeping everyone here for questioning.” Luke froze, suddenly turning around as he got his answer, he quickly began walking back to James' room, it was one step forward, but two steps back.

CLAUDIA KRAMER She leaned up and took a look, police were moving towards the building and one had already made it inside, talking to one of their workers. This wasn't right, they weren't allowed inside, and even if they were they would need to at least show a warrant. She got the message, Monica Johnson was mobilising, and considering the aggressive attitude the officer was talking at they weren't here to remember the fallen. She got up, typed up a message to send before tapping the officer on the shoulder. "Excuse me ma'am, you aren't allowed to just--" "Do you have a warrant?" Claudia spat out, sending the message to those on the mailing list behind her back. "You can't just walk in here without the document." "If you want a warrant I am sure Chief Johnson is happy to provide one?" "Which means you don't have one, and therefore breaking the law." She had to assure at least some temporary authority, even if temporary. "You, back to work, and you, outside." "But ma--" "You can come back inside when you have a warrant." She stared the man down before he moved, with Claudia following shortly behind. The doors open again, except the place was a different scene. No longer the sea of press, but instead the police cordoning off the entire island. Police officers started process those around them, and Claudia simply told them "Don't answer a damn thing!" She saw Monica, moving towards the building, and Claudia stride towards the Chief of Police. "What is the meaning of this Johnson?" she asked, as the text started to arrive at the phones of those inside the Citadel, or at least she hoped so. 'Vault, code 0451, get out now!'

ELIZABETH CHASE | NEMESIS Heartania | Citadel Courtyard 2nd December 2063 | Morning After a short ride, Elizabeth's car pulled up just shy of the Citadel bridge; forcing her to take the rest of the journey on foot. It was no logistical worry, but psychologically, it was a bit of a chore. So with quick, long strides, she made her way down the path that opened up to the Citadel proper. Upon doing so, she was greeted with a ridiculously high police presence. She reserved any misgivings such a sight induced for later; as her eyes spotted Ms. Claudia Kramer approach the chief of police. The tension was palpable. Eager to intervene, and avoid any stupid escalations, the DA quickly approached the two individuals, with a frown on her face. SHe had to say something: preempt the arguments that would have followed in her absence. With this in mind, she spoke with a compromising tone, but also one with the weight of her office behind her, "Let's not do anything rash here, either of you," she shot Monica an icy cold glare before turning to Claudia, "Ms. Kramer. I am terribly sorry for your loss... and this. However, you must understand the serious implications placed upon the Citadel. If Chief Johnson relaxes her force, maybe the three of us can talk privately inside? I'm sure we all have questions for each other." GRACE SCOTT | STARLASS Heartania | The Tower 2nd December 2063 | Morning Argent left the medical wing, leaving Grace alone with her thoughts. She sat down on her bed, and began to clear enough space to set down a piece of paper, and a pen. She sighed. She had planned to do this for a while: to smuggle a letter into the Citadel to give to her parents. However, after last night, she could send it to Capital City instead. With a shaky hand, she began to write. Dad,She paused for a few minutes, before grunting with frustration and slamming the pen on the table. She reclined to lie horizontally on the hospital bed. It then hit her. If the words to her parents would take a while to form, she would instead focus on those she already wanted to say. She held her phone up into view, and began to search through her contacts for La Mirage. She had a debt to pay.

- THE SHERIFF -
James glanced down as he felt a vibration on his lap, his fingers grasping around the phone he unlocked it with his password, 'Lisa Witt' his mother's name, in a matter of seconds. He furrowed his brows as he saw the message; 'Vault, code 0451, get out now!' He shifted up, wondering what was going on out there before he suddenly saw a clearly pained and troubled Luke open the door and slam it behind him, he felt a pang of sympathy seeing him so weakened, leaning on the door alone seemed to give him relief from pain. James watched Luke move closer, sitting down on the bed next to him as he fumbled with the phone in his hands.“Luke, what's going on? Did something happen?” questioned James, raising an eyebrow, he tried his best to keep that same tone, that same almost chirpy go lucky cocky tone, trying to raise their spirits but can see it was barely having an effect. He was scared, keeping himself focused on Luke as he tried to push past his own grief, his own suffering. “The police are here,” Luke revealed, James could see his grip growing tighter on the thin sheets underneath. “They said they're going to be questioning everybody, and...Look you know things here aren't exactly...” James ushered a silence, he knew about the things Luke had done before, there were plenty of stories, some sad, some told in rejoice, but right now that didn't matter. The legality of the situations had always been questionable, especially to James as someone who used to be a cop, he had no idea how the government was even run this way, the things that occurred and he wasn't exactly the shining example of a law-following citizen himself. Even still, it was concerning, for both of them, but mostly for Luke, he knew that he had been here from day one and he couldn't even begin to imagine what the police could go after him for. James himself was more so nervous about his connection, what if they knew about Acchilleus, what if they asked him about it. He shook at the thought but put on a brave face. “Maybe...I don't know, maybe we should get out of here.”
At once, James saw Luke almost jump up, yelping slightly with pain as he began sorting through the box and picking it up, holding it again with one arm wrapped around it. Fuck it. Luke helped James as he struggled to get up, getting onto his feet was the most difficult part after unplugging himself from the heart monitor, as he began stretching, hearing his body almost crack before he limped over and started packing on his revolver, somewhat glad to have it by his side, feeling that it was cool once more."Okay, but...I mean this is crazy. Are you sure about this?" James asked Luke couldn't even nod in response, causing James to sigh. “It's not like we have much of a choice." He glanced back down at his phone. "Claudia sent me this, does it mean anything to you?” James showed the screen to Luke who glanced down at it, his eyes widening slightly as he looked back up at James.“It sounds distressing, but I think it's our way out, do you know where the Vault is?” questioned Luke, James shrugged.“I...think I remember, barely spent any time down there myself,” muttered James as he began to take a few more steps towards the door, feeling more comfortable walking, as his hand was firmly wrapped around Luke's squeezing for just a moment out of nervousness, out of some need for comfort before he opened the door, being careful to glance around for any signs of any officers. “Okay, okay we're going to have to get out of here. I know the way back to the apartment from here, just stick close.” He turned to glance at Luke.“And if we get caught?” asked Luke. James sighed, more so out of irritation which he instantly regretted. He didn't want Luke to think of himself as a burden, especially not now, but having to pack up and leave and risk law enforcement coming down on the both of them, it was stress that was clearly not needed.“Let's try not to think about that,” assured James, seeing Luke nod, the two of them stepped out of the room, staying close together as James led the way, trying their best to stifle their grunts of pain as their bodies and their minds fought against them, their hearts pumping with adrenalin and their bodies racked with pain, as they began to make their way down the hallways.

- Jade Blythe -
Jade took a quick breath as she felt the icy wind surround her, hand still locked tight around the window’s frame as she tried persuading herself to keep her eyes shut and not look down. Her left foot lifted slightly to step out into nothing, when a low buzz came from her new phone tucked away in her packed suitcase. She didn’t hear it. With one foot hanging an unknown amount of meters above the waves and cliffs below, she started to slowly lean forwards, hoping that the impact wouldn’t hurt, that it would be quick. But then a melody, more specific a children’s song, played from her old phone lying on the bed. The tune of ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ stopped Jade from taking the last step, as the ringtone was assigned to only one person in her contacts. Jade, still keeping her eyes closed, carefully placed her foot back on the windowsill and shakily stepped back into the room. With heaving, panicked breaths she sat back down at the bed and spent some time to regain control over her mind. Two minutes passed, and eventually she took the phone with twitching hands and read through the text message from Starlass. Once she was finished she fell back onto the bed, not holding back her tears as she remembered the talk she and Starlass had all those months ago. With a hushed whisper, she muttered quietly for only herself to hear. “No, thankyou, Starlass, thankyou. Thankyou.” She curled up on the cold sheets and wrote the shortest, simplest and most desperate reply to a text in her life; two words she hadn't said to anyone, not even the Broker while they were together.

Monica returned Ms. Chase's icy glare. Turning her attention to Claudia, she looked at her with disapproval. "Miss Kramer, I believe you understand that this is a government building, and currently it is under police investigation. I ask for your cooperation. Also, please do not address me as simply Johnson." Monica wasn't going to have Claudia try to put herself in a position of power; she was a citizen, and that's how she would stay.
"Currently, I only have a few police officers going in and out of the main building. We'll go inside and find a meeting room, there we will talk and, Miss Kramer, you will be questioned further here."
Monica started walking toward the Citadel, occasionally stopping to let the DA and Miss Kramer catch up.

GRACE SCOTT | STARLASS Heartania | The Tower 2nd December 2063 | Morning Grace had tilted her head up, to stare at the ceiling as she waited for Mirage's reply. It didn't take long to receive one, but as she read the ominous words, those once brief moments appeared to be a lifetime. Dutifully, she sent a short reply, before walking to the nearest window. She grimaced as her thoughts crossed to Argent Mind. He would have wanted her to stay, and recuperate. She would have done so too, if her friend wasn't in danger - a friend she owed too. She elected not to change into her uniform: it would have took too long to put on, and would have been incredibly uncomfortable to wear with her lasting aches. Besides, it didn't really matter if she concealed her identity or not anymore. Confident in her decisions, she opened the window as far as it could go, and with a degree of pain, lifted into the air, and began to fly to the Citadel: using a Tower module installed on her phone to track Jade's location via her last message. Though her pace was slower than usual, the speed was still formidable: she would be there in no time. ELIZABETH CHASE | NEMESIS Heartania | Citadel Courtyard 2nd December 2063 | Morning Monica had begun to walk further into the Citadel. Elizabeth had to admit that this was not how she pictured their first outing to go. It was clear the chief's reputation for recklessness was an understatement; she could only wonder how accurate the stories of her ruthlessness were. She had hoped for a calmer investigation, herself. Just the two of them; able to coerce Claudia into a willing discussion. The Citadel had withstood an army, nobody other than Kramer could guarantee the safety of the policemen that were now in the vicinity. Looks like it's up to me to have the level-head. Gently, Elizabeth placed her arm on Claudia's back, signalling her to follow the headstrong chief. With enough distance to keep out of earshot, the DA quietly spoke, "You're angry about this? Yeah, me too, but don't do anything dumb. I'll make sure Monica doesn't do anything brash, as long as you comply with the law, and understand the guilt that's on your feet, and your role as a citizen of Heartania. This doesn't have to be ugly, as long as you and the Chief play nice."

Luke kept a firm grip on James' hand trying his best to keep up, though he couldn't tell whether James slowed down every now and then from the pain or just to make sure he stood close. The two of them were nearly side by side, glancing over their shoulders as Luke could see the gears turning in James' head, trying his best to remember where the Vault was. The air was tense, almost palpable as the two of them kept moving, that's what Luke tried to remind himself, to keep moving, to never stop as he kept a tight grip on the box, its contents shuffling at his side. He hated this, hated the fact that he had seemingly dragged James into another situation, and the pain which only made him fiercer didn't seem to help things. There were times when they had stopped to peer around a corner, or times when they had slowed down that Luke tried to think of the right words to say, but at this point, he reminded himself that he should focus, that now was far from the time to talk about burdens.
“Okay, I think we're here,” noted James as he stopped to peer around the corner once more, both their breaths were heavy, with fear and with pain. It was soon after that Luke felt himself being dragged around the corner, more than happy to see that the lift was in sight as the two of them quickly rushed towards it, pressing a button they both let go of each other as they waited for the doors to open. “We might actually make it.” James glanced at Luke, his foot tapping as he anxiously waited for the doors to open to the Vault. Luke nodded, clutching at his shoulder as he grunted with pain causing a look of concern from James, as Luke simply glanced back at him, a silent assurance of being okay as he rubbed the shoulder. He just hoped the two of them could rest soon after as with relief he watched the elevator doors slowly open.
