- THE SHERIFF -
The both of them got clothed, James was in his own black jacket with a plain shirt underneath, cargo pants adorning him through they seemed the most difficult to get on, his pained grunts were shared by Luke who was struggling to get his own pair on from his own wounds. However, after a long, while the two of them were up and fully dressed, James felt saddened watching Luke have to stifle the pain he felt over and over again, parts of him still had his doubts about leaving for Scarlet City alone, but as soon as he was ready, so was Luke. It was him after all who seemed to do most of the packing for James. After that, the two started walking out of the apartment, Luke throwing his own towel from the shower to the bed before he stepped out of the room and with James, stepped out of their apartment and locked the door behind him. Most of their money was in James' wallet, and soon the two of them braced the cold winds outside once more. They stopped in their tracks, taking one last glance at each other.“So I- I guess I'll be seeing you around,” Luke started the conversation, easing them into it. James nodded, his classic smirk and smiles were gone, replaced by an uneasy shiftiness, a saddening one at that. He knew all of this of course but couldn't maintain the facade any longer, not even for the both of them. "Yeah," muttered James. “You figured out where you're gonna go, right?” he asked, it was Luke's turn to nod, it didn't help that Luke still looked apathetic at going.“I have enough money for all the camping stuff, there's a site only a couple miles from here, thankfully they're open all year,” Luke explained once more, it was less so explaining and more so reassurance. “Call me when you get back, and please...” Luke paused. “Just, make sure you take care of yourself, take the time you need, I'll be fine.” James could see through his lie, but was appreciate all the same of what Luke advised. Nonetheless, he slowly nodded one last time, and the two of them kissed, before the two of them stepped away, walking in quite literally their separate paths, James had his own large backpack, stuffed with clothes, water, the things he would need after Luke helped him packing. And so the two of them walked away, their own intentions and paths laid clear, the both of them alone, again.

GRACE SCOTT | STARLASS Heartania | The Citadel 2nd December 2063 | Morning "If you can manage the suitcase, then carrying you out of this hell-hole will be my pleasure." Grace stood up, to open up the window again, but before she could: Jade went in for another hug; thanking once more. She chuckled a little, and told her no thanks were needed, as she slowly pulled away and went back to her task. She reached the interior windowsill. She would have begun to lift the window itself up, if she didn't hear a peculiar whizzing noise coming closer and closer into earshot. A few seconds later, she saw a blurred body soar into view, and her instincts forced her to drop her to the floor, as the object smashed right through the window; glass flung all around her. Checking Jade was okay, Grace slowly rose to her feet once more; holding onto her side in pain; beginning to assess the situation. "...Alex?"

APOLLO | Jay Hearne Heartania | Leo's Gym 2nd December 2063 | Morning Haley bounced to his left and immediately Jay jumped at the opening, lunging in for a flurry of strikes. But he had underestimated her, unwittingly leaving himself open. This was her chance.
BACKLASH | Mason Vance Heartania | Highrise 2nd December 2063 | Morning "I thought you'd be the last person to leave Scarlet." Mason closed his eyes and smiled to himself, he was right. "I suppose I was the last of the heroes. First Steel, then Red, then you." He stopped solemnly, recalling the fate of Cold Steel. "No," he continued, bucking up, "I wouldn't leave if it wasn't important." Mason looked at the aged man in front of him, a tired and bitter relic of the golden age. Still, he was like a brother to Mason, a friend and even a father even still. They hadn't spoken in over a decade yet in seemed already on one exchange that they could essentially pick up right where they left off. "What's the state of Heartania then?" he asked, "I've been a bit preoccupied with Nightfiend. Finally took him down last week."

Haley ducked under the incoming blows moving toward Jay's body as he outstretched his arms. Her own gloved hand moved in with a much harder and sharper cross followed by a jab to the body then finishing with a high aimed left hook. She felt a little sore but kept close. So close she could feel the heat radiating between them, while not being able to tell which of them was breathing the loudest.
She had to fight her instinct to back off. It was just for the camera, would this be enough she hoped.

CLAUDIA KRAMER She glared at the police chief as Miss Johnson entered the building, the building now under her watchful eye, passed down. She glanced at Miss Chase before following Monica inside, taking a seat at the table within the chosen room. She sat opposite to the woman, before letting out, "your brashness is not appreciated Chief Johnson."

Your head is shaken. There's no way of knowing if red means in your head what red means in my head.Leave now, and fly. "...Alex?" a voice resonated, whist stars span in Alex's view.
"...Sam?" he replied with a grunt, luckily he didn't feel injured.
He rose, pulling his face off of the familiar coolness of the Citadel flooring and back into the even cooler winter air, amplified by the gap in the window where a barrier of glass had once lay. Shaking away the stars and dusting himself off as two separate visages came into view. Both female, and both weak, as if in a state of disrepair, if humans were attributable to the adjective. If it weren't for the camera feed, Alex wouldn't have been able to tell it was Starlass. His eyes passed from Starlass to the other character, Jade. She looked shaken, broken. Torn. His eyes lit up at the sight of his old comrade. Even though they only spent a few days together, there was no other sight as refreshing to his eyes as one of the people he could regard as an ally.
"You're okay". He said to the both of them with a meek smile

- Jade Blythe - Though totally unprepared, Jade had somehow shielded herself from the glass which now laid spread across the floor of her room. She peeked forth from the top hat she held in front of her face and looked in confusion as she actually recognized the person who had crashed through her window. ”…Alex?”
“…Sam?”
"You're okay.”“-what just- Alex?” Jade said with a surprised voice, glancing back and forth between Grace and Alex, to see if they were okay. She didn't know who to be more concerned for; the hero clutching her side in pain or the one who just crashed through the window from out of the blue. “why did you just..? Are you alright?”

- HUNTER -
Luke walked through the crowded streets, trying to be aware and keep his head down, he knew his battered image most likely attracted glances, whether of concern or confusion, it seemed somewhat nice and almost peaceful that the city wasn't usually confined in their houses for their own safety. People were walking around, whether they were heading to work, taking a stroll just had someplace else to be, Luke felt like the city was almost lifted from the tensions. Yet the same threats still stalked people, the villains, the battles, if he wasn't so focused on the pain he would have been questioning himself how anyone felt safe here, one glance at the skyline told him he felt much safer on the rooftops. He wished he was up there, he thought as he recounted the directions to the nearby store, wish he could feel the breeze against his skin and confront the fact that he didn't feel like jumping, not anymore.
He entered the store, comforted by the warmth as he felt what little mementos he could carry slap against his thigh in his pockets. After a while, he picked out a large dark rucksack, something that was light though he tried to make sure he couldn't burden himself too much. It was after a while, as he perused the other items he added to his basket that barely hanging on to his somewhat limp and weak grasp, that he thought about James again, almost smiling to himself, he had the confident feeling that now he was heading out of the city he would be safe, and Luke felt there and then that he would be safe too. Taking a tent, a rucksack, a sports bottle, and anything else he felt he might need up to the front, he was thankful when he was right in calculating the price, the cashier beamed at him, as she was doing to every other customer.
“Going somewhere soon?” She inquisitive, as Luke handed her the money, still smiling as she went to get the change. Luke quickly took the opportunity to begin packing, shoving most of everything into the rucksack as he sorted out the tent pole, sleeping bag, and other equipment, wrapping them up until they were strung up by the thick black adjustable straps that clicked. He was relieved when he went to get his change, only leaving the cashier waiting for a quick moment as he took what little money he had left back.
“Something like that,” replied Luke, trying to give his best smile though he could tell it was weak. The cashier, as she did to all the other customers she seemed to come across, bid him a good day as he stuffed the money into his pocket, quickly pulling the rucksack onto his back, cringing slightly at its weight, especially having to somehow adjust it so that it hung slightly looser than before as to allow a gap for his own sword. No wonder he was probably attracting glances, but he wondered how many citizens have already been subjected to people openly carrying weapons with the superheroes and villains that were around. He still felt like he was able to grab at it properly, he just hoped he wouldn't have to. There was only one thing that confused him, as he glanced down at the odd chip in his hand, he pocketed it, wondering why Lilly was so protective of it, even to the point where she just seemed to ignore their questions. It was something he would have to figure out later as he glanced down at his phone, he had received a text from James: On the bus to Scarlet City, stay safe! Texting back his own response, he realized he had to get a move on, beginning to walk through the streets once again, the rucksack tugging at him and clinking away.

CLYDE IRWIN | KINETIC WARDEN Heartania | Highrise 2nd December 2063 | Morning He looked over his shoulder, towards the city. Even after a period of readjustment, Clyde often found himself expecting to see the sights of Scarlet City, as opposed to his first haunt. It still felt peculiar to be there. It was like the whole city had moved on into a new age, whereas he had put his cards onto a different table, leaving him a distant echo in a hallway of chatter. "Despite how much the city has changed, it still has that same broken heart that creates people like me... on both ends of the spectrum." Smirking a little, he couldn't help but take a small degree of comfort in his self-professed truth, before returning to his serious frown. He then narrowed his eyes, and looked his old ally from up and down. Indeed, the two had already begun to slip back into an old rapport, and with that gave him a sense that something more important was preoccupying the ex-Deputy's mind. He even said it himself: 'I wouldn't leave if it wasn't important.' Despite this, Clyde ultimately elected to humour Mason. Though he wouldn't care to admit it, but he owed the young man as much after he worked so hard to earn his respect. "I doubt he was much of an issue," he folded his arms, and cocked his head to the side, "Unlike whatever has brought you here."

"Me?" Alex replied hurriedly, though hardly concerned with himself. "Of course I'm fine, what about you two? What's going on?" There was no denying Alex had plenty of questions to ask, despite his calmness before going in to the situation, all thoughts had gone out the window. A sweet irony, as it was he who entered the window. The two women seemed tired and drawn, but he refrained from asking about their affairs of health. "Sorry. I just- What happened?" he asked inquisitively about the situation outside.* Outside? Inside? Take a breath. Make the leap. *

Argent Mind Just as Argent Mind made it back to the control room from his visit to Starlass, another summons reached his ears. Apparently, another wounded young hero had been picked up and taken to the Tower last night, having been involved in some violent struggle while the fight at the Citadel was fully underway. Medical attention had been granted, and the note delivered to him suggested some extensive cybernetic enhancements on the young man. Curious, and worth looking into. The new hero had moved into a nearby meeting room, seemingly to talk to Argent directly. With his visit to Starlass complete, and Rhys still resting, there was no reason to keep the lad waiting, so he set off immediately. In moments, he had reached the new room and, with a nod to the security guard waiting outside (a precaution with unknown guests), he opened the door and stepped inside. He was not at all prepared for the man he found within. Kate She spoke to the family again, finally tearing herself away from the wall and her own dead grief. The arrival of a legion of police had pulled her out of her lost thoughts, and she had retreated inside to avoid questioning for as long as she could. She didn't want to speak to any cops today, not after everything... So instead, she sat with her brothers and sisters. The little ones were distraught, but in the confused way small children are about death. Whether they truly understood the loss, she couldn't tell. She hoped they didn't. The pain was too much. As for the elder ones, they had all cried their fill during the night. Like her, they had grown up on pain and grief, losing fathers and brothers and their mother with them. The grief was clear, but so was their drive to stay strong, for each other and for the kids. She had never been more proud of them all, standing together in this moment. Despair would never destroy the Thompsons. They would be cared for, she had made sure of that. Capital City, away from Heartainia, they would be staying with a close friend. Good people, who would look after them all woth whatever money the Broker had set aside for them. It would probably be better than this life, hidden away in the Citadel- with Jason and the Broker gone, they were safe to go wherever they wished. They would be comfortable, safe, and perhaps happy. Kate knew her family would always have a safe place to live, and that gave her comfort/ As for her... She already knew she wasn't going with them. Jason had wanted to make a difference, and now... She could for him. She didn't fully know what powers were coming to be within her. But she would make them count. Twelve Twelve was quite startled by L's arrival, having been entirely focused on his self-appointed task. He span, very almost flinging his produced meal across the room (barely catching it before it made a flight towards L's head), and bobbed merrily. "Oh good morning, L! How lovely it is to see you up and about!" He exclaimed, with a voice that conveyyed extreme enthusasm. He pondered her question, and answered as honestly as he could. "I'm not quite sure, if I'm honest. I lack the capacity to taste, after all, and I have no idea what quality food should appear like. These cookery videos I found online are aiding my culinary endeavours, however so I have high hopes!"

Monica sighed, walking around and placing her hand on Claudia's shoulder. It was time to figure everything out. "Look, Ms. Kramer, I know that you are grieving, but currently, we do have very import business. I do wish for your full co-operation and I do apologize if our activities have ruffled your feathers." While she spoke Monica focused on Claudia, and her powers. Suddenly, Monica's eye's went white and her head threw back. Absorbing the memories of another person was always tricky, even trickier when that person had died at some point.
As the memories flooded in, Monica felt the chilling sensation of death climb up her spine. It wasn't pleasant. When it ended, Monica stumbled back and crashed into the wall behind her. Sinking to the floor. Another painful thing that came along with using it on living beings was, you got much more than just memories, emotions with them felt much more real. Monica was shaking, that cold feeling hadn't left yet.

Damian stared down at the little girl, assumably an accomplice of Felicia. He sighed, "All I'm doing is droppin' my kid off for a day or two with her Mother, nothing bad about that sweety."
Sidestepping her entirely he called to Lucy, who let go of hugging her mother. Lucy turned and waved to her father, a big smile on her face, "Papa I'll see you soon!" She didn't sound sad to see her father leave for a while, mainly happy to see her mother after many years. Damian turned, walking over to a nearby parked car and getting in. Without warning, they sped off.
Inferno was still standing there, staring after Damian with a blank expression.

~ Snowflake ~ ’-the fucking… I should have tripped him and pulled out my gun.’Snowflake glared after the car as it drove off and turned to Inferno and her daughter, still having trouble to process this fact though it was literally staring her in the face. With a surprised outburst, more as a statement to the whole situation rather than just Damian ignoring her, she looked from mother to daughter and expected an answer. “Inferno, what the actual fuck?”
- Jade Blythe - Jade sent Grace a concerned glance and stayed back. It seemed pretty obvious that her just-reappeared friend had sustained some severe head trauma, and though she wanted to check on him she didn't know what to think about his sudden breaking through the window. “You don’t know? There was this big fight between Acchilleus and the Broker, and…” she went silent for a few seconds, “the police are here to, I don’t know, investigate, I guess? But Jon- I mean, the Broker is dead, so they must be.. after his network.” Jade quivered a little, pulling up her legs from the floor and hugging them close to her chest. This was not the time to be scared, she told herself, as she would be out of the Citadel very soon. “Why did you crash through the window, and where on earth have you been?”

- THE QUEEN OF ROSES -
Mira rushed forward, her mind continued to travel miles per minute as she stepped forward witnessing Claudia and the chief of police excuse themselves into the room. Something was definitely going on, and it was the perfect time for Claudia to possibly throw her under the bus if she wasn't too careful. It seemed nothing good lasted forever as time was working against her, ticking by, whereas she was told to use it as an ally, it was now forced and pinned against her like an enemy. Seth doing the interview alone would make no sense, this was her business, her organization, and before she even started it, it was wasting away in her hands, inches from her own grasp. In a few moments, Mira found herself closer to the meeting room, one woman who had not yet gotten in, who she realized could only be the district attorney.
She began to wave her over, hoping to capture her attention. It was a stupid plan, to some extent, but at the very least it was the best source of information there was, besides being quite literally locked out of whatever meeting was going on behind those soon-to-be closed doors. If she was caught, if Seth was implicated, and her family lost their daughter so soon after the death of her brother, she would do everything and anything to prevent that from happening.

ELIZABETH CHASE | NEMESIS Heartania | The Citadel 2nd December 2063 | Morning Elizabeth trailed behind Monica, and Claudia, not because she was slow, but because she wanted the space to look around the building interior. Visually, it was satisfactory. Nothing stuck out like a sore thumb, and if there were skeletons; they would have to have been locked up pretty tight in their closets. However, that artificial sense of order disturbed her a little. In all her years of investigating (for both ends of the ring), she had learnt that the areas with nothing to say had the most to hide. She was about to follow the two into the meeting room, until from the corner of her eye, she spotted sudden movement in her direction. Spinning round, she looked over at the culprit: a slender woman with brown hair, and noticeable brown eyes. From the look of her expression when they made eye contact, it was clear she wanted the DA's attention. Reluctant to leave Claudia with Monica, Elizabeth looked behind her, and saw the two making themselves comfortable in the room that had been selected. She then frowned, and made a judgement call. She subtly gave Monica a nod of confidence, and then moved away from the faux interrogation spot, and closer to the gesturing woman, eventually holding out a hand to greet her. "Elizabeth Chase: District Attorney. Can I help you with anything, Ms..?"
