- The Queen of Hearts - Alice took a breath, not breaking eye contact with the intruder. She knew just what to say, she'd rehearsed this. "First I'm going to need your name." Alice said plainly, narrowing her eyes, "And what you're carrying." Quickly she flashed a smile. - Crimson - Pulling his bike up on the same street he and Snow had encountered Reaver a few days prior, Crimson dismounted; his eyes widening as he scoffed at the sight of his surroundings. The club whose owner had to bravely mouthed off to Crimson the same time as his first Reaver encounter was in ruins. Blown apart with debris still scattered across the ground. 'Karma!' Crimson thought to himself. Moving on, the man found a wall to lean on and took a comfortable stance, pulling out his phone and dialing his rival's last given number. 'Well have I got news for you...' he smirked, pressing 'call'.

- The Chaser - Claudia kept calm as her mind assessed the situation, hostages, two exits, elevator not an option, not a continuous route. She kept her hands up and said "I'm just here to visit a relative, just like everyone else in this room." She looked at the man being held hostage. "Whatever you're here for, having this floor locked down isn't the best way to go." - The Pursuer - Benedict was checked up and down for any additional injuries, he was given some painkillers and was cleared by doctors, though those more seriously injured were taken to other clinics. The building has had enough to worry about, would take some time for people to regain confidence in it. He looked back at the building. Good luck cous. And started to walk back to Downtown, back to business.

- Kay - Kay began to move diving downwards not as the bow began to release but at the point where Hunter's muscles began to twist his face into a look of resignation giving maybe an extra second at most for them to react. It helped turning what would have been a full body shot to the tip of the arrow sheared across the bridge of their right shoulder ripping into their skin and embedding itself as they were not quite low enough avoid all damage, a tiny part of Kay flashed back to their shattered memories of the morgue, being chopped into. It did not feel good to be vulnerable again. Emotionally or physically. The forward momentum as they dove added to the force of hit as Kay barged into Hunter's middle, hard, aiming to bring them down as fast as possible. Their fingers had sharpened into hard points as they grabbed at him so that the grip they had would not be lost too easily.

- Ryder - Ryder came to from his slumber, still fully clothed, coated in dirt, sweat and the occasional splatter of dried blood. His hat drooping lazily over his eyes, shading them from the cheap quality lighting of his stereotypically Australian lair which was adorned with indigenous artwork, a plethora of weapons ranging from hunting bows to crude spears. To top it all of, a kangaroo pelt lay strewn across the red-rock floor, acting as the cherry atop a deluxe, triple scoop dessert. Beads of sweat caused by the sheer humidity of the underground lair were the cause of Ryder's awakening. He rolled over in his rotting bed, planting a heavy foot on the ground and groaning in a rich yet coarse tone. Knowing he would be unable to sleep, he scraped the remaining sleep from his sticky eyes and wiped his brow. Standing up, he walked to the exit of his lair; a wall of soft dirt created by intensive tunelling to and fro. Ryder was just lucky the land above his head had been built upon, so there was a low chance of any excavation projects discovering his humble abode, Thoughts ran through Ryder's head as he recalled his memories. Creating ties with a potential formidable ally, whilst severing any possibilty of having a new cyborg companion. The cat lady too, jumped her way into Ryder's head. It was undeniable that the pair had chemistry; he would have to meet her again soon to plan more mischeif. Alas, before he could become lost in his mind any longer, Ryder surfaced through the bottom of a storage container in the Heartania dockyards, prepared for whatever the remainder of his day had to offer.

- Hunter - No. That was the only thought that drummed through Luke's mind as he felt himself grabbed by Kay, some of his breath being pumped out from his chest and into the thick air, his eyebrows furrowing as he felt an intensifying pain from the tight grip that Kay had them in. They dared not to breath, fearful that every movement of his torso would only quicken the pain, raising his weakness, giving Kay more strength and a tighter grip, more pain, more weakness, more strength to circle in a vicious cycle. Instead, a surge of adrenalin gifted Luke a moment, a moment to calculate the best option, the best option to hurt Kay the most, and stop them, and so they calculated. And then they chose the other option. Luke grabbed his dagger, his fingers tightening against its grip, as the sound of it being slotted out from its leathery sheath made itself familiar with Luke once more, reminding him of memories of a worse time, if that was at all possible, if that was at all true. Yet memories were not the highest priority for Luke, not now, not ever. They smashed their arm against the bitter air, watching their knife about to plunge the knife against Kay's shoulder.

- The Queen of Hearts - "You're pretty brave for someone who's just visiting a relative." Alice spat, sizing up her potential combatant. Beat. "I still didn't get a name." Alice moved her blade closer to the human shield's throat, causing the man to wimper as he made frantic eye contact with the the woman, "Please!" he cried, his eyes wide with fear.

- Kay - Kay pulled back on Hunter's legs even as they had pushed before, the sudden switch of direction would hopefully catch him off balance. One arm tensed their grip tighter as a sharp force dug into the same shoulder as the arrow had pierced hitting part of their pseudo muscles causing a contraction. This was not going to be fun to clean up later. Kay may have been trained to kill, even paid to do it at times but most of the time they preferred to take their prey at a distance it was better for their life expectancy in the long run. Then again this was not the first time they had to fight someone they thought they could trust. The arm that had not had their shoulder pierced reached up and tightened vice like around the fleshy fingers they found there. The sharp claw endings were still apparent but now facing the bare skin of his hands they sunk in a little further not having to catch on materials. "What choice do you think you've made?" Kay asked loudly to make sure Hunter caught their words. "Because I remember this decision being made more than once before."

- Hunter - Luke cursed to himself as he felt every breath knocked out of him, as he hit the ground, the back of his head throbbing as he felt gravel and stone strike his back. He looked up glaring at Kay, trying his best to get out of their grip, but their metallic body was far more powerful then they believed, and so they realised; Play smart, not strong. "Fine," muttered Luke. "Fine." He added calmly, slowly opening his palm, and throwing the dagger across the roof. He didn't want Kay having a chance to grab it and plunge it into his neck, without warning but at the same time wanted to show he was surrendering. Except he wasn't. As he watched Kay, trying his best to calm the situation, ignoring their every word, he used his other arm to slowly reach down to his other holster, in which he quickly grabbed his pistol holding it up to Kay's neck. "You told me you couldn't die. You told me you could get shut down." Luke pulled at the safety. "I don't think a bullet to your brain would really help either way, would it?" He continued glaring at Kay, trembling, not out of fear or feeling guilty for what he was doing, no matter how those feelings were present. But fear that this was Kay, Luke knew he could play smart but they were smarter and that whether he liked it or not they had a plan to survive this, no matter which way the wind was blowing. However, that didn't mean Luke was going to lie down, and let himself die here either.

- Kay - "Nice choice." Kay shifted their weight moving their nails out shortening them as they moved their hand outwards slowly so he could see where it was going from the position on the floor but still pinning Hunter between their thighs, at what seemed on the surface to be a détente. "You are quite right a shot to my core would probably erase me, I almost tried to do it once." Kay held his gaze steady not an inch of fear or sadness could be held there, the calm veneer of something artificial. They were trying to make him feel better about shooting. "I'd already destroyed the back ups and I stood at the weapons range gun in hand thinking about my life, my creator, the torment. What saved me was thinking about my name Generation K." A splash of anger shined through as they said the words they had never spoken to anyone but now seemed like the last chance they would have. They had to get the words out even as they got their face back under control. "They weren't me but they were so similar, so many who had killed themselves, who he had killed, and yes I say kill because we are alive whatever others say. I lied we do die, just it takes more effort.Still I had to end the cycle. I have to end this cycle for you too." Kay snapped the fingers releasing them from the grasp while moving their other hand towards his gun hand, a dazzling serenity on their face. Bracing for the hurt but knowing something that Hunter did not, their core banks were not in their head.

- Hunter - Luke felt himself drawn into Kay's story, as pain tore through his hand, yet he was more or less debating whether every word they said was truth or a vile disgusting lie, in order to use whatever dregs of sympathy he had for Kay to fester, in order to distract him. He continued listening, growling almost as the pain continued to throb, however as they reached towards his other hand, he knew it. He saw the look on their face as if they had won, as if they had defeated him with mere words alone. But words are wind, and Luke wasn't going to back down, not now. As every sense went against the order, he felt himself curl his finger around the trigger and pull, twice. Two gunshots aimed right at Kay's head. His mind was buzzing, overwhelmed, he could barely focus to calculate the trajectory of the bullets, the holes they left behind, if they were lodged in Kay's metal or if they ripped through their very core. So for a few minutes, as the sun was starting to set behind them, Luke waited, catching his breath, staring at the sky and at Kay trying to see the damage that had been done, and waiting for the events to be unfolded.

- Starlass - Heartania had a long history that rooted itself into every aspect of its existence. The forlorn train station was an example of this. Formally a centerpiece of trade, the railroads were abandoned in favour of a metro-system, and further development of modern transport. Countless politicians had since postured to renovate and clean up the site, but none could bring themselves to do it. Heartanians were, if anything: sentimental. Why Marshal Maleficus had given Grace the ultimatum of meeting here, (or else the winged life of the Butterfly would be no more), she could not understand. She had turned her comms off, leaving them at the Tower. She had to do this alone. The Marshal clearly did this to get at her - so it was only right she fixed it. She also needed to be able to have some control of something, losing her mind was bad enough. She approached three figures; one standing tall, one on their knees, and another simply... lifeless. Biting her lip as she edged closer, she could tell the face of the Butterfly, and the sinister smirk of the Marshal. The villain in question folded his arms, and simply remarked, "Perform the aforementioned... procedure, if you would." Grace closed her eyes. This wasn't right, but she needed to make things alright. She removed her domino mask, throwing it on the floor. It felt perverse, every aspect of her instinct was telling her not to do this, but how could she even trust her own thoughts anymore? She was in no position to risk someone else's life because of a gut feeling. The Marshal simply nodded, untying Butterfly and letting him escape freely. Though something felt wrong. Surely he had to know my identity anyway, why did he do this? Maleficus' disturbingly well timed explanation helped Grace to understand, "Of course I always knew who you were, my dear Ms. Scott... But they didn't." With a simple head gesture, her worst nightmares were realised. A live, rolling camera projected to every major station in Heartania... now had the true identity of Starlass. She firstly felt a deepening sense of despair... which soon morphed into hatred. Once again, she felt no control over herself, as she wildly pounced upon the Marshal. She didn't want to throw a beam of light, she had to actually feel her fist connect. And she did, but not with the face of the Marshal. The lifeless figure sprung to life; the feeling of cold hard metal surged pain throughout Grace's hand. Her eyes widened as she observed the bot in front of her. Aside from the deep black eyes staring back at her, the rest was exactly identical. Every nerve in her body was unsettled as the identical robot slammed it's fist on Grace's face, causing her to fall to the floor. As the Marshal and bot made their leave, Grace's anger returned. She flew up into the air, charged towards the camera and projected all her might into breaking it. It was all over. She just wanted to fix things.

- Warlock & Rogue - Natalia pulled herself out of bed, careful not to make a sound as her brother warned her telepathically about the intruder. "I think this guy has led us to danger." "He wouldn't." she protested. "Why not? Who's to say he's not with Apex?" Esteban took a deep breath through his nose, furrowing his brow. Natalia pulled out her weapon as Esteban already had a tight grip on his own; finger on trigger. "For someone wanting to sell us out he sure did give us some heavy weapons, no questions asked." Natalia was adamant of The Knight's innocence. Esteban, frustrated, spoke allowed in a protective but harsh tone, "Look!" he lowered his voice, looking both ways for trouble and peaking his head closer to his sister, "Just try me, he's bad news." "Based on what? A bad vibe!?" Natalia mocked, putting his hand on his forearm. But quickly, Esteban snatched his arm away, standing up from the crouched position they were both in. "Someone's here and it's not 'Blake'. That's what we KNOW." Esteban snapped, back through telepathy, "Just stay close."

- Kay - Kay was blind in one eye, the first bullet had ripped through the connections and finally the lens as it blasted through scattering tiny shards of glass and metal down onto Hunter as it gouged a large hole into half their face, the second shot took out their throat leaving the sky shining down onto some exposed wiring though it did not look similar to any wiring you might have seen at home. Their hand continued its movement grasping tightly and crushing down on his second hand feeling more bones pop and snap as they snatched at the gun chucking it as far away as they possibly could, hoping it skittered off the rooftop. A rasping sound came out as they tried to say sorry. But they could not speak any more. He would never trust them again. They could see that so clearly and yet he did not know this was the closest they had come to complete honesty with anyone they met. No more honesty, it was time to hide again to become a hard little shell, they were good at that. It was dizzying seeing the world through half vision, they paused to orientate themselves to this new situation before they slammed down with an elbow towards his face using the sounds of his breathing to triangulate it more than anything else.

- The Chaser - The woman was placing pressure on the man's neck, she had to give a name. "I'm Michelle, I was just visiting a cousin of mine." She kept calm, her used name being a variant of the brother she never knew. She kept her eyes on the stranger, and simply asked "What about you? What's your name?" - The Broker - Dinner, gammon steak with pineapple, the sweet with the savoury. The High Chancellor sat at his desk and kept his eye on the monitors he set up. One giving him a live feed from the news room, one showing him the income and donations coming in, one showing the list of work to do and who was assigned to it, and another showing some live feeds from CCTV monitors of interest. Crimson seemed to have taken a liking for Karma, Ben's new club, and it seems the former Pursuer has taken an interest in both teamwork and fighting danger, instead of being the barking dog. The image in one of the little box was tuned into a small but entertaining television station. 3rd season of Albi the Racist Dragon, the surreal nature of a children's show mixed with black comedy cheered the now recluse leader...that was until the screen switched to something much darker. It was the image of Grace Scott, Starlass, unexpected and unwanting. Jonathan stopped eating and stood up in shock. His eye piercing stare locked on as he switched channels, seeing the same picture. He started to frantically type on the keyboard near him, almost in sheer panic, and said 'Find out where this reveal is being transmitted, find the source!' He knew the location, a train station once of his staff members scouted before, and so switched the CCTV to outside the station. Two figures left, Starlass in a hurry and....Butterfly? The questions were troubling him, and he needed everything on the case. One small team involving Shade is heading to the hospital, he needed someone he could rely on. He hovered his hand over the phone, unsure on whether to dial or not. His gut kicked in. He picked up the phone, dialled the number, and held it close to his ear. The words were repeating out-loud. "PickupJade pickupJade pickupJade". - The Pursuer - The creature swung himself around and swung a large punch towards Andras' stomach. It contacted it's target, but Andras' simply smiled. No pain, no breathlessness, his new suit had worked. Note to self, thank the people who made it. "Foolish creature." The butt of his blade came in contact with the creatures head, which itself staggered. Andras quickly moved out of the way and shouted "Now!" Time to finish this thing off. - Benedict Strahm - The walk back was relaxing, more relaxing than his time in the hospital and that involved premade food, a warm bed, and some lovely nurses to chat up. He made his way back to Downtown, now quiet with it being in the middle of the day. He observed the street, Karma was still being rebuilt, and the Village was going well. There was one thing that caught his eye though...the man from yesterday with the obnoxious motorbike was handing around outside Karma. Trouble? Maybe, and it was a good excuse to check up on Karma's progress.

- Hunter - "Fuck!" shouted Luke, as he cried in pain feeling the very bones snapping in his fingers, tearing through his hand as he felt Kay crush the second hand. Shit. Luke kicked at Kay, catching a glimpse of their wrecked state and a pang of guilt overtook him, before he watched them fall away from him. He tried to stand up, tried ignoring the pain in his hand between his growls and cries, to get up. However at this point it was useless. Luke tried to concentrate, tried to perhaps get water out from the cold air to control, to defend himself, but there was nothing. His bow, his dagger, his pistol, his weapons, all of them, were gone astray left on other ends of the rooftop or teasingly among the clouds. Luke stared at the sky, trying to find the will for another attempt, to get up, but with his back and waist in pain, his hands broken and Kay on the floor, possibly dead, possibly not, he simply stared up, trying to think of a way to get out, to escape.
